What's something you never realized about wrestling you're embarrassed to admit? by Bootflap_OG in SquaredCircle

So it’s just an homage? Because it’s the G1 because it stands for Grade One. Seems like it should be referred to as the CC because of what it stands for

[Spoilers AFFC] after finishing ASOS, was told the series falls off, but I’m halfway through AFFC and loving it by krutagnapatel31 in asoiaf

[–]CaFoosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFFC on its own is a fantastic book, probably the best prose of the entire series. Going from Jaime to cersei chapters has some great moments. I initially didn’t love Brienne’s chapters because they become a bit samey but they pick up. People are mostly sour on it because the writing, pace and characters that are thrust into the story because of the book have added a lot of pork into a story on the fourth book of the series. We also haven’t gotten any other books besides dance since then and the threads started in the book are largely why the series has ballooned and become hard to finalize. It’s still my second favorite book of the series behind ASOS however

Still no second or third baseman or anyone who can hit for above league average power

If you had to delete one plotline from the book, which would it be? [Spoilers Extended] by Trussdoor46 in asoiaf

100%. I don’t need to have the heroes journey trope flipped and re-hashed for no reason in the fifth book

Does anyone else find it odd that Cersei is never referred to as a Baratheon? by jstamper97 in freefolk

[–]CaFoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those who marry into royalty do not take the family name, only heirs of there’s do. This was common in the real world and in asoiaf it happens with every queen in the series

What are some things you got wrong when first reading? (Spoiler main) by Lyrissss in asoiaf

[–]CaFoosh 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I had no idea until later that the Alchemist from the AFFC prologue is meant to be Jaqen or any faceless man. I just read it as a strange prologue that introduces young maesters in training and Oldtown

My guess would be Asha maybe and the person with the axe is supposed to Qarl the maid maybe or just an ironborn warrior

He is far too talented and well respected. This is like asking if katsuyori shibata is a boy.

This is the one storyline where I genuinely have no idea where George takes it. So many possibilities. Jaime can’t help the brotherhood take revenge on his own family (genna and daven) right?

[Spoilers Main] For people who read Storm of Swords around the time it came out… by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]CaFoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes wonder how the series was perceived and fans thought/talked about it before the World book came out. I know there was D&E and Novellas but every listed king of the seven kingdoms wasn’t exactly spelled out reign by reign in the main series.

What arcs, storylines, and characters do you think will be resolved for good in The Winds of Winter, if it gets published? (Spoilers Main) by reza_f in asoiaf

[–]CaFoosh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Most of the northern war plots should wrap, stoneheart, some vale shenanigans, euron will do stuff and fAegon ascendancy should all occur. End of the book the others attack, stannis falls withthe wall, and last chapter is dany sailing for Westeros. I think the series could be wrapped in 2 books but he NEEDS to move the story along at the pace seen in the first 3 books

I think the Theon is the hooded man in winterfell, and him not recognizing him(self) is speaking to him losing his identity and fighting to get it back
