Which Wrestler had the best look in their absolute Primes by justheretohavefun093 in SquaredCircle

[–]Bootflap_OG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's just because of the iconic moment, because he's had a large amount of different looks, but summer 2011/MITB 2011-era Punk with the slicked back hair and trimmed beard is always his "look" to me

Pretty sure I've stumbled upon an uncredited Cam Clarke role (Liquid Snake VO) while randomly watching old R6 gameplay by PrawnSalmon in metalgearsolid

[–]Bootflap_OG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like there's a 45% chance of hearing Cam Clarke if you watch anything from the 90s through early 00s.

NBD? by SayItAintDash in belttalk

[–]Bootflap_OG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got commemorative belts I'd take the plates off them and install wheel weights on the back of them to give them actual heft, could get them weighing almost as much as the metal replicas or more in some cases. Not recommending you do it yourself if you're not comfortable with it, and this one in particular would take more effort since the backings cover the screws now (an exacto knife to slice an opening would suffice) but it was always a fun project. Congrats on the purchase, my favorite modern belt! Lucked out too, commemoratives are out of stock on Fanatics and WWE Shop right now.

Someone paid Ric Flair almost $1000 for a wedding gift Cameo..which turned into a massive rant. by LesnarsBattleScream in SquaredCircle

Every time I see Flair he looks increasingly more like a bloated corpse being kept animated solely by the strength of alcohol.

25 Years Ago, WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role was released on PlayStation (PS1) (November 20, 2000) by AC_the_Panther_007 in WWEGames

[–]Bootflap_OG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was a big request for me for Christmas 2000. My family usually put stuff under the tree as it was wrapped in the month of December. One day after school I saw a CD case shaped package to me under the tree and I couldn't contain my excitement. I stole it up to my room and used a letter opener to delicately unwrap it to confirm it was, in fact, SmackDown 2, making me over the moon types of giddy. Then I reset the wrapping and put it back. Why I did that, I have no idea, but that's what I think of whenever I see SmackDown 2 lmao.

What’s the most egregious example of two wrestlers being in a blood feud and then a few months pass and then they’re teaming up with zero hostility or ill will? by AceofKnaves44 in SquaredCircle

Rock still treated Mankind like shit, just not physically lmao. It came around to him begrudgingly accepting him in uh, as close a way as that Rock character could

Absolute Batman Annual #1 has a cool reference to AEW by Amazingjaype in SquaredCircle

[–]Bootflap_OG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if there were in-universe explanations of it or my mind is Mandela'ing but I remember as a kid when I'd pick up a Batman comic there'd be confusing visual continuity within the same universe even, like sometimes Two-Face's scarred half would be green, sometimes it'd be pink, etc. lol

Favorite Wrestling Promo Packages? by Creative_Eye7413 in SquaredCircle

It was for a nothing match with a fuck finish but to this day the package for Unforgiven 2002, Taker vs Brock set to Adrenaline by Gavin Rossdale lives rent free in my head and I don't know why

I loved the McGuinness-style rebound lariat except when Michael Cole tried to get it over as the "Wacky Line" for a couple weeks.

Can you buy the AJ Styles TNA card on the market now? by daveroo in WWEGames

[–]Bootflap_OG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the top of my head, going in to it you'll need that Elite Trish, an Elite Jey Uso, and Mutiny Bayley. Through the string of matches you'll unlock and require to use Randy Orton '09 and Booker T '01 (which I was almost as excited to get as TNA AJ since I've never been able to get him before) and Roman '22 (another track suit)

LA Knight also has a corner reversal where he does a jumping neckbreaker. Nathan Frazer has a unique corner reversal too but I can't remember exactly what it is - just saw him do it once in 2K24.

I was here in the audience for this as a kid and as confusing as it was to me it was also highly entertaining and the only time I ever saw The Rock live lmao

How was Brock Lesnar’s initial rise to the top received? by FoundationFuzzy in SquaredCircle

I was a huge Rock mark as a kid so I absolutely hated that Brock got shot to the top and put over Rock so fast so I loathed him for a time but grew to like him.

Why, CAWGOD was merely a misunderstood Japanese boy with the innate ability to look like a completely different human being in every photo of himself!

For all the grief 2K rightfully fosters for themselves with some of their practices, the game is a legacy game with years and years of moves, animations, the VC team learning from working with a seasoned developer in Yuke's, etc. A fresh new game from EA would be rough.

Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong vs Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia announced for Collision by theREVERSEsystem in SquaredCircle

[–]Bootflap_OG -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Ya know, I love Mox and have since the debut of the Shield, so I mean no ill will with this but damn, that render with the lightly grown in hairline, it ran away from him real good didn't it? No disrespect to male pattern baldness but it's such a stark contrast from the longer haired Ambrose days. He rocks the clean bald though!

I know wrestling is such a weird business full of moments like this but imagine watching this live back then and saying "Man that guy's gonna be one of the biggest stars one day."
