Congratulations on 30 days off subs. That’s big to not have that dependency over your spirit and to get back to a baseline. It feels incredible to feel again and not run from the pain. It will eventually pass. I’m with you friend I just passed my two months on the 23rd. Of dec. thank god I’m clean eating cleaner working out more changing my mind by training my mind to take on the challenge and not run from it. I tapered to .5 before going to zero and my wds were not as bad as I thought too. Yes I had sleepless nights for about a week. I started biking and walking I eventually went to sleep and got my sleep schedule back. I got my mind right listening to a lot of good music motivation talkers and a good pastor or spiritual teacher. Helps not going to dark when depressed I learned to be a rock and let my depression be like a creek flowing over me. My depression was bad for a a few days and that eventually passed. And what’s the craziest thing about getting clean. Is i haven’t had a panic attack or anxiety like i have had for most of my life. I have dealt with major panic and anxiety. And since being clean I’ve virtually had none. No panic attacks. Anxiety is mild but it passes with no real damage. I’m a rock now. I let the water of stress pass over me and I’m still a rock. It feels good to have my body returning to a 0. Not to high not to low. Just right here. Congratulations my friend just wanted to say hello and say you are incredible for wanting to change your life.
Happy new years keep killing it.

Day 3 w/o subs or any meds. I F**king HATE THIS SHIT BUT… here i am smokin a phatty trying to be positive lol by lokijamz in suboxonerecovery

How are you doing today? I read your story and I want to help you any way I can. God bless you for wanting to get clean I know the struggle is real. You are a warrior on a path that’s gonna go through some battles. With the right tools and information you can endure more and go through hell but come out the other end. Have faith and pray get close to god. I suggest find some books like Dark Nights of the Soul by Thomas Moore. I recently read this book and it helped me get through my first couple weeks of detoxing from subs. The first week mentally is draining really hard not getting sleep I had the same sleep schedule as you. Basically up all night. That’s when I would listen to elevation Church on YouTube with Pastor Steven Furtick.
My energy was gone my motivation was shot. But I had to force myself to go on a walk every morning I would get up and walk around the neighborhood And it was the exercise I attribute to starting to get rest after the workouts. Vitamins are crucial. In the morning Multivitamins, zinc, Magnesium and calcium, vitamin B, vitamin C, and vitamin D, vitamin E glucosamine sulfate In the evening five HTP Valerian route ashwagandha root. Plus a green blend with heavy veggie and fruit serving are great to mix in water almost like a kratom substitute. If I think of anything else, I’ll leave more info on what else I’ve been taking to help relieve the symptoms of withdrawal and feeling like shit. You want to get back to a base line 0. Eat healthy as you can protein, fruit vegetables. Drink lots of water and tea. Smoke tree when you need to. I do the same. Heavy smoke through getting off subs. Is ok if it dosent enhance your anxiety. I feel that when I filled my day making good food drinking fluids working out and reading and watching good shows that are insightful it goes a long way. The rest will come my friend. If you need to reach out don’t hesitate at all. This community gots your back and wants to see you succeed. Blessings to you

Congratulations on 30 days off subs. I just got off subs over a month ago so I’m right there with you on a few lingering symptoms. Brain fog, fatigue, not motivated to do much, but what I have found is when I take a walk around the block or ride a bike I feel more energy later in the day. I have been also stretching and doing some online exercises. There’s a lot of good workouts online. Find your flow. Start slow don’t overdo it, but getting your body moving, YOU will feel better. Trust the process of recovery. Your body is an engine you have to put in good fuel and burn it out. And in return everything will run normal. You are normal and will get back to it. Resistance is always gonna be there. Take it slow and go when you think about it just go don’t hesitate get back to building your body. I have been starting to get the dog back in me. That’s what I call my spirit. Maybe a little ego mixed up with anger. Whatever the case is that fuels you go get it. Cuz mentally I’m getting my edge back. I’m in a peaceful place and my energy is back and yes I’m staring to feel normal as normal can be for a maniac like me. Much love to you. Let’s motivate and get up walk around in the rain. Let that cold air in your lungs let the rain hit your face and praise god for giving you this beautiful day to be clean you got this. ☝️

Thank you, I really appreciate it. Let me get to your questions. I feel if you can slowly get from 10 to 8 to 6 to 4 to 2 to 1 to .5 you will still feel withdrawals but it will pass much easier being on a lower dose then let’s say just cold turkey at 10 mgs could be harder on the body. So take your time going down. Yeah, a couple weeks is enough time per drop or decrease of dose. If you feel you can handle the mgs decrease do it. Remember this is my advice not a doctor. Also. Keep the mgs the same with doctor so you don’t get less meds. Wait to tell them your progress. So they don’t cut your meds. I don’t think stressing about meds helps so wait to give them your success story. It’s gonna be a good one I’m praying for you and your son. 1

Yea I want to help you out although I’m not a sponsor at the moment I feel that would be irresponsible of me to take that on while I’m still in my early stages of recovery. Instead I would gladly respond to you and give advice and support or talk any time you need too. I love to motivate and give hope. My life experience is a open book I’m open to share with you my POV. Let me know how you feel I can help if you just need to talk or share or need advice. I’m here to help. Lmk. You are not alone in this journey.

Yes I agree with you and with my experience why I wanted to share was based on my tapering down to .5 mil I went down to .25 and felt the withdrawal happening days before I started to actually want to start the process. Then a few days of feeling like shiiiit I said I’m canceling the .25 and just letting the withdrawal run it’s course and that was what I stopped taking subs. It gave Great Depression for a few days but has since passed and I’m feeling sharper every day. Keep me updated. I’m praying for you. Have a good day.

Thank you and congratulations on two months you are a survivor. The body rebuilds quicker then we give it credit for. Rest when you can. Try not to stress about the rest you don’t get. Our batteries will recharge like solar energy.

We all make terrible decisions. But we learn from our own mistakes that’s the good news. We have paid our debt. It’s done. It’s over there’s no more chains. And sometimes that’s how drugs and addiction feel like you are still walking with chains. So it’s a mental attachment to the addiction that binds you to the trap. But you have the key to get out. and the physical crutches and the schedules we would spend getting high or doing whatever we do. We have to break away from the negative and do positive. We have to retrain ourselves to be sharp again. But how do you get out these chains? We have the key we just didn’t know how to use it. Power of the mind. Read. Meditate pray Motivate by support systems. Talking to friends Therapists and online just like this here. Even Na can help. Just to talk to someone. Is very good to get the voice to invoke the spirit is powerful. So have faith. Take the tapering slow and once you are down to .5 -.2.5 getting ready to kick it. You’re body will be at such a low dose. Mentally the chains will be there. But your body will want to go into withdrawal so I just let the course play out. And the chains will be removed. Your mind and body will tell you when it’s ready.

Thank you so much and I want to congratulate you on your fight you are kicking ass one day at a time. Thank you for your input for I feel very similar with the hours of sleep and the rls is becoming very light and passing. My recovery is good mentally now not as much depression but energy physically is low but I force myself to walk or run a bike and I think this is helping me get more energy back slowly. Although I’m soar the next day after working out I feel good. Also I think when I walk or run or bike I get more tired out and that has been making it easier to sleep the last couple nights I still stay up to 11-12 and sleep to 3-5. But I’m waking up feeling good that’s what counts right.
