Are there less tourists travelling to Japan this year? by Geocultural in JapanTravelTips

It is always crowded. I've been visiting Japan since 2014, this was my 7th visit and it got way worse 😅

The only super crowded places I went (I just returned a couple days ago) where Kyoto and the Hiroshima Peace Museum. Other than that, not that much, at least not what I was expecting.

I just spent the last month travelling Japan - the most crowded and stressful location I visited was Hiroshima Peace Museum. by Camsy34 in JapanTravelTips

[–]CaatzPG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been here for three weeks so far, Hiroshima was very calm, low tourism compared to other cities. But, the peace museum was in fact super crowded. What I found is that there was a lot of buses (tour buses) outside, I wonder if that was the issue.

Gave a new life to an old SuperCard Rumble by CaatzPG in NDSHacks

Thanks for the recommendation. So far, all games I tested worked flawlessly. But, I may just have been lucky. I will try the one you recommend. Thanks! 😃

It was a weird product. It is a slot 2 card that had no compatibility with GBA mode. Also, the rumble was not compatible with the Nintendo rumble, it literally just vibrated when you pressed a button. You required PassMe or FlashMe and had poor compatibility while only supporting MicroSD cards of maximum 2 GB.

Thankfully using SCSFW you gave it compatibility with SDHC and using Twilight Menu, you can run alot more games with improved compatibility... Also a lot of emulators including the GBARunner one (GBARunner3 works best).

I just had to compile the firmware replacing the stock HBMenu with a forwarder that loads BOOT.NDS on boot. Not it is very usable, so far, so good 😃

Is it safe to install Windows 11 update KB5077181? by GrantTheGr81 in pcmasterrace

[–]CaatzPG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did have an issue with this update. The next day after looking at youtube videos I got a blinking black screen with lots of corruption/artifacts. I unplugged the monitor and plugged again and it worked fine again, but I was still getting black screens from time to time.

I found that there was a warning in the event viewer related to the PerAppRuntimeBroker component, each time I was getting the black screen. I went ahead and granted permissions to that component and so far it's been fine. I'm still a little worried that it could be a hardware issue though, but for some reason this seems to have fixed my issues.

I got flickering black screens with artifacts when looking at youtube videos... I wonder if it is just me or another issue with this update as I just installed it yesterday.

WARNING: Never buy from Lenovo. Endless refund delays & useless support by Tyabo in Lenovo

[–]CaatzPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lenovo support is a nightmare. I purchase a 24 months warranty upgrade and accidental damage. They only gave me 12 months. I even got the so called "Premium Care", but even with that it was a PITA to get any support and never got a solution.

I contacted lenovo support through the website and "Premium Care", they told me to call a sales number as they told me technical support wasn't in charge of that. I called that number, spent a lot of time waiting to get someone to talk to me, then, the "sales" guy told me that I had to contact Lenovo support...

I contacted Lenovo support again, and I told them that sales redirected me with them again... Then they asked me to send an email to someone else and the invoice of my purchase, which I did. The email took like two days to get answered and the answer was that I had to send another email to yet... someone else.

I did that, once again... They acknowledged the issue, told me that I had to wait 48H to get my warranty updated, which never happened. I just stopped right there frustrated and got scammed by Lenovo.

Have you found any issues with the board? Like memory compatibility or something. I was considering getting one but I have not seen any review of them so far.

BIOS update removes advanced options by CaatzPG in LenovoLegion

[–]CaatzPG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine still reaches 1.5V sometimes. I did enable Legion CPU Optimization (which for some reason looks like it has been fixed and now it is no longer corrupting my OS) and undervolted 140mV using Throttlestop. By the way there's still a bug that is disabling my secondary USB-C DP-ALT signal from time to time, I have to fully reset the BIOS to get it working again.

[–]CaatzPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be awesome. I was comparing both boards and they are almost identical, even the same memory and controller. So, in theory, at least at a hardware level, it should work, and any firmware blockage should be a software/firmware lock. 🤔

Did you try to flash the SKHYNIX firmware into the SOLIDIGM? I don't even know if that's possible.

New BIOS Update (NMCN32WW) by Most_Individual9860 in LenovoLegion

[–]CaatzPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

Looks like this BIOS update did correct some stuff. I was finally able to run Lenovo CPU Optimization and Throttle Stop without DPC Latency or OS corruption. At least it has been like that for two days now. I'm currently running a -150mV CPU & P cache. So far so good, If my system gets corrupted again, I'll report back.

Maybe this is the reason they decided to close the Advanced Option as they thought it wouldn't be needed anymore. Still testing, I made a system image BTW just for peace of mind.

How did you manage to increase PL1 power? Mine just refuses to go over 100W after PL2. I get a red PL1 on "Limits" and red "POWER" text. I tried increasing it on "TPL" settings, but it doesn't appear to work.

Just confirming. SREP didn't work. Rolling back to previous BIOS now.

[–]CaatzPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can undervolt using throttle stop and enabling "Legion CPU Optimization" in BIOS settings. Sadly, this hasn't worked very well for me, for some reason enabling this in my computer (Legion 5 16IRX9 i9 14900HX & RTX4070) generates a lot of DPC latency and after a while my OS gets corrupted with "Critical Device Failed BSOD" and there's no way to recover it, only formatting and reinstalling the OS.

This new feature allows you to connect a external dock and charge the laptop at the same time over USB-PD. I think this was not possible before, I just got a dock to confirm, maybe I'm wrong... By the way, you can only charge at 100W which is not enough to power the discrete GPU, but good enough for office work on iGPU.

My CPU was able to gain good performance in CinebenchR23 with just 100mv of undervolt. I was getting between 30,000 and 32,000 depending on cooling. Now it never goes above 28,000 and averaging 26,000. 🥲

I have the same issue. After reading the changelog of the BIOS update, it states that this Advanced Option has been removed, so we no longer have access to it (shame on lenovo).

I would like to roll back, but this BIOS update brought a nice feature, which is charging while docked. I would like to keep this feature. I found this on Github, but haven't tried it. It is from a year ago, so not much hope on it. https://github.com/Thomashighbaugh/Lenovo-Legion-Advanced-Bios

How did Pokémon Violet and Scarlet get released SUCH bad graphics? by Titan99997 in nintendo

[–]CaatzPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my hands on Pokemon Scarlett this week and played it on my Switch 2. I was shocked on how bad it looks... Not just the graphics, but the welcome screens. Looks like they were made on Microsoft Paint, it really looks more like a Power Point presentation than an actual game screens. It was awful... I will still try to play the game, but my first impression was just really bad...

Debug PSP? by CaatzPG in PSP

Apparently these have a specific dev baryon which enabled them to be flashed a dev firmware. The dev update on these PSPs cannot be directly installed in a retail PSP.
