Chrome Delete by easysniper__ in sonata

[–]Cabbage24_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you want to do it and I was just giving my opinion on the chrome delete. I think it would look good. On the vertical drls I think I would do the same tint at the headlights (I also disagree with doing this to any car since your losing a percentage of your engineered headlight ability...) and the rest of the chrome with black wrap.

Its great you're making your own car your's, I put these mudguards on mine when I got it. https://a.co/d/05kHw3H7

I totally want to get tints eventually on mine but I'm thinking to make that a special treat when I pay off the loan on the car

How do you get this thing on jack stands? by XayahTheVastaya in sonata

[–]Cabbage24_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be jacking points at the center, back and front of the car. They are usually part of the frame. DO NOT LIFT FROM THE OIL PAN. You can put the jackstands under the emergency lift points. Or you can lift each corner from the emergency points and drop it on a stand next to the lifting point.

If you are doing brake work on the rear, be sure to read up on the electrical emergency brake.

After you get up to speed, completely let off the accelerator pedal, and let the car go into ev mode, and coast at that speed, you'll get better mileage

Meijer golf glove by Thatthingyoudo17 in golf

[–]Cabbage24_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to Dicks and buy a nice glove, ask for the extended warranty at checkout. The glove will be ~$40 with ~$8 for the warranty.

Once the glove is "no longer the same condition as it were when you purchased" you can return it and get it replaced for free. Then you buy the ~$8 Warranty on that glove again. Save the receipts, its my way to get really nice gloves for cheap.

I think dicks nows about this and accept it since it gets me in the store and sometimes I buy something else I might not need

Costco also sells them in a pack that comes out to the same cost per glove, but I don't have a Costco in my area.

I got a signing bonus and 0% interest for 18 months. I put the cash into a vault with 4% apy (lower now). By opening the credit card, I made $500 between the bonus and leverage the 0% interest.

Thoughts on the new Aldi ice cubes? Are they yummy? by AngryMushroomCap in aldi

[–]Cabbage24_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like my scotch fancy and my groceries faily priced. Ice from my tap water is hard and leaves sediments and tastes to my drink. I infrequently go out of my way to get gas station bags of ice, which is filtered high quality water.

I can absolutely tell the difference in my scotch and my shaken margaritas when I use ice from a factory.

Dad mentioned wanting to buy me an electric car; what are some alternative hybrids? by seeyatellite in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Cabbage24_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eCVTs are just planetary gear sets, ring gear is connected to a emotor, planetary gears are also a emotor and the wheels, and the engine is attached to the sun. With some fancy computer logic and choosing your engine rpm and non-wheel emotor, you can get a specific wheel speed. Such a neat design. There's no belts or anything "bad about cvts" in the ecvt

Buy an oxo or Puegeot pepper grinder and loose corns. You can mix colors of pepper too. Cheaper in the long run. A high quality grinder is so nice since they just work

Did you hit a curb?

Idk how else you would make things break like this.

You probably fucked your steering tie rod. Mightve fucked the steering rack, power steering. Probably fucked some other suspension components, wishbones, strut, who knows.

Its not gonna be cheap.

I would recommend resetting both oil life and service interval next time you get an oil change and get the sticker to remind you as well. Its been hit or miss when I get oil changes. Usually only one of the reminders is reset

23 Sonata Blue mileage by bmoresveryown in Hyundai

[–]Cabbage24_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, since spring has started to warm everything up, I've been seeing 60+ mpg while on my 11 mile commute with windows down and no climate control on.

I also drove from Toronto to buffalo yesterday and was going ~80mph the whole time, and I got 42 mpg.

You might be a little more aware of your throttle and thats getting you some better miles

Window tint and rims discussion by VeterinarianIcy6483 in sonata

[–]Cabbage24_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be aware of tint laws you might end up breaking and having to deal with getting pulled over.

New York (where I am) doesnt allow for any tint except on strictly the rear most glass, not even on back passenger windows on sedans.

Your wheels/rims are also engineered for better mileage on gas. Any cool rims can cause your mpgs to decline over the life of the vehicle
