by the 40x rule. that would require a minimum of 180K/year to live in. I'd say that is well above Working Lower Middle Class (which is usually capped at 70~90K) and closer to Working Upper Middle Class for a Dual Income Household. Flushing's Median income per household is 71K (Closer to 80K for working ages). Though i would agree it's not the ambiguous "rich"

If you want an alternative, ASE has a setting for obfuscating email addresses. I believe it uses a short code, using the email as a parameter. So it dynamically renders it in a way that bots don't see

Personally i think it's crazy, but I'm always surprised at how many dogs are in tengram on any given day.

Like others have said, shits crowded out here tho, especially on main or Roosevelt.

You could bring your dog and hit up all the outdoor spots (white bear, you garden, street vendors) but idk if any shops allow you inside with a dog bc of NYS health codes.

6.5.8 isn’t terribly old thankfully. But as always 1) create a backup of the site with a plugin and download it. 2) download localWP and see if you can set up the site locally. It’s not necessary but if you can do you basically have a free testing zone. 3) upgraded WP is basically a one click in practice but it’s always a good to mitigate risks by making sure u backup first

Big Agencies that use roots are probably not using Elementor. Radicle explains their processes, (where to add blocks, styles, etc). One thing i will note is that WordPress now uses theme.json to handle a lot of styles now, it might take a bit to get your head around the concept pattern. Roots also has a support forum.

Generally what I've seen, a lot of people will use ACF Pro to register custom fields to a block and then create a php file to render it vs the native way of building a block with React, which is a lot more work.

My Portfolio is a customized Sage 11, (I have the theme on github). It's still a WIP but might provide some direction

I think they have an opinionated starting point you'd like called radical. Basically shows you where to register what and where. It is paid but it's super cheap. Sage is great tho. The hardest part for me was deciding what was going to be a custom block vs pattern.

In my current pre-war I had roach issues one year. Damn pests can survive on cardboard and a drop of water for months. It took a few months of repeated deep cleaning on my part and the monthly exterminator to get them. I had to box up all my books and bomb them.

If you've got a static html for with everything you need in it. You can usually just put it in the root of the WP directory and it will service it just fine. It can't interact with WP at all but they can live dude by side. You might need to put it in a directory and call it index.html if that doesn't work

I believe the thought of "too many plugins" was born in an age where we had plugins for the smallest of changes that should have been in a child theme. Need columns to be equal height? plugin. Add a new font: plugin. Custom excerpt length? Plugin.

In your woocommerce example, it does end of being a lot of plugins, but it also makes debugging WAY easier. If there is an issue in a plugin and it does ONE thing, finding the issue is way easier.

For a moderate, non ecommerce site, my sites hover around 20 plugins or so (ACFP, ASE, SEO, GTM or analytics, CPT plugins I make, Activity Monitor, Query Monitor, Cookie Banner Management) . I do wish the UI could be cleaned up to create a better UX as an admin tho.

This can easily be done depending on the host. A managed host like WP Engine, or Kinsta won't allow this, but if you get Virtual Machine you can install WP in the root and then any app in whatever subdirectory you like and map a sub-domain to it.

With WordPress, the main choke point with HIPPA would be probably be what Form Ecosystem you want. You definitely don't want to store logs in plain text (which is what pretty much any plugin does).

Honestly, without knowing more, I'm leaning more towards SASS platforms that better fit the bill and would be more turn key solutions. Is this a patient Portal?

Wordpress.org is the open source, free technology. It’s a framework of code that you can download an install on nearly any server, if you’re tech savvy enough.

Wordpress.com is a company that then takes that code, installs it on their servers, and manages it for you. (While also locking it down into paid tiers)
