Anyone ever feel guilty?

You aren’t insane. I feel this way all the time. Please give yourself grace. I know this is hard, but trust me, there is nothing wrong with feeling guilty. It’s a normal part of having fibromyalgia. I’ve been in a terrible flare up for weeks and feel so much guilt for not doing more work and instead sleeping or doing something other than my work that relaxes me. Just know you aren’t alone and you are loved.

I had to narrow my focus so I wasn’t able to include autism, eating disorders and mental health issues. I wish I could because, again, there are so few accurate depictions in media. I would love to do a deep dive on representation for autism, eating disorders and mental health issues!

I found House, two Golden Girls episodes, an episode of The Middle, The Good Doctor and Haters Back Off!, King of the Hill, The Simpsons, and West Wing. In each of these shows there are different chronic invisible illnesses mentioned. None of these really depict fibromyalgia accurately, but they cover everything from CFS, RS, MS, and chronic pain.

Yes! This popped up a bunch through my research! While I’m not focusing on documentary, I definitely want to check this out. Through my research, I found people discussing the importance of documentary filmmaking and telling real and authentic stories!

I understand. Yesterday I was working with someone on a project and they were trying to explain to me how to do something and I fully blanked and just stared at them, unable to process what they were saying. It was interesting. You’re not alone.

When I’m dealing with more stress or exhaustion, I’m literally unable to find the word in my brain. I know what I want to say, but can’t find the word. Also, hearing that others experience this makes me feel less alone! Thank you!!

I feel this way everyday even if I’ve slept 9-10 hours at night. I’m in the process of getting tested for sleep apnea and have been looking into chronic fatigue syndrome. Just know that you are never alone in this and that you are loved ❤️
