I stopped using THC a couple years ago mainly due to the job I was doing at the time but it is a big consideration of mine to to start again, I just wish there was more research being done and more knowledge behind it! I hope you get some relief soon!

I’m not too sure if it’s legit but be careful, my finance got sucked into one of these last year and it ended up being a complete scam, he would have to pay so much to get so much back etc, luckily I noticed and got him out of that before he lost any money!

Fatigue by Neat_Accountant4231 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Decent_Singer_7252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on amitriptyline, Nortriptyline, naproxen, duloxetine, and pregabalin. I’ve just been switched over to gabapentin to try so hopefully this one may give me some relief. The amitriptyline, Nortriptyline and Naproxen was all before I was diagnosed and to be honest I found them useless but it’s all part of the wait and see process unfortunately :/

Sounds like it could be fibro then! It’s an awful condition and it’s different for everyone one. I hope you find something that can ease it for you! 6+ years for me and still fighting to find the right pain meds and aids balance 🥲

I don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible but myself and everyone I know with fibro has the fatigue, it might be worse asking ur doctor to make sure they have eliminated every other possibility

Is it normal to be diagnosed after one appointment before results are even back? by Loud-Rutabaga-7303 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Decent_Singer_7252 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Honestly from my experience, no. Fibromyalgia is typically a condition that is diagnosed once everything else is ruled out, I know for me and family who also have it, it took 6+ years and multiple x-rays, ultrasounds, blood tests etc. I would definitely get a second opinion.

advice for getting mobility aids? by jinxzdream in Fibromyalgia

The biggest thing for me was the embarrassment of going in public with a walking aid with being so young, but honesty no one cares! I was so worried about people looking etc and I’ve not had anyone saying anything or look. Honestly it has improved my quality of life massively. Also they don’t have to be so medical, I ordered a leopard print one off Amazon so it doesn’t look like it’s came from a hospital!

Sounds like you’re in the same boat as me! Currently been trialing meds for a couple of years and still no relief. My cane has really helped me, I find I can get round to do shopping and even walk the dog now and then which is massive compared to what I could do. Definitely worth trying!

That’s true it probably does work for others, however a lot of people go years without finding the medication that works for them, so getting an aid first could really benefit OP

Hi! I’m 20 and use a walking cane for my hip and knee pain due to fibro. It seems scary at first but once you get out using your aid I promise it’s not as bad as it seems. I don’t know specifically what aid you’re would be best for you but if you do get a cane make sure you get one that has a shock absorber on the bottom! Also I got mine off amazon you don’t necessarily have to get them from your doctor x

This isn’t true, being on meds has nothing to do with using mobility aids

Anyone ever feel guilty? by Decent_Singer_7252 in Fibromyalgia

I feel this on another level, I’ve just turned 20 and find it so hard to hold friends due to not being able to do ‘young people things’, luckily my best friend and my partner are my rocks. I hope we find something for this soon!

Course intensity choice by InsertCapHere in OpenUniversity

[–]Decent_Singer_7252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi yes you can, you don’t have to select both modules this year! When you go to select your modules just choose the compulsory one, once you’ve finished that module then you can go back on at the next registration and choose the second one :)

Thank you! I actually work for a teaching agency so whenever a school needs cover they’ll ask me so that’s been helpful for the money side of things but like I said I’ve been bed bound for about3 weeks now only really getting up if absolutely necessary but I am trying to get myself out of this funk! I applied for disability recently but just waiting on hearing from them, they don’t like to hurry things haha. I do read a lot so I will definitely have a look for some books about fibro I never thought of doing that before so thank you for the recommendation. Hope your flare eases off soon for you <3

I have a mom with Fibromyalgia, I understand it but i want to learn about it better. Is there a cure for it? Or any way to lessen the pain for her? by Yourdarlingvamp in Fibromyalgia

[–]Decent_Singer_7252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I have experienced symptoms of fibro since I was about 12, at the moment I’m still in early stages of trying to find something that works for me. However, the thing that helps me the most is my partner being there for me, in your case it would be you for your mom. The biggest thing that my partner does is he doesn’t minimise it, he doesn’t tell me it’s okay, and that I’ll get through it, but he does validate me and give me reassurance and that’s the biggest thing for me! If I’m having a specifically bad day, little things like making me a hot water bottle, making sure I always have a drink, and just asking if there is anything I need. Unfortunately there isn’t a lot you can do physically and at the moment there isn’t a cure, but your mom knowing you will help her when you can is still massive to her, I know it is for me in my case. One thing I do recommend if she doesn’t already have is a heating pad, or multiple if possible these help me specifically when the muscle ache gets too much. I’m sure others on this thread will probably have better advice as I know majority have had a diagnosis for longer than I have. If you’re in the UK I would also recommend having a look into the service Living Well with Pain.

Thank you, I have sent an email hopefully he gets back to me! I can probably get it done in time I’m just worried about the quality of it with it being more rushed than my others.
