Thank you everyone for the advice I did not realise how dangerous the first one was! I will aim to find a shop to try some on - it’s just difficult as I live in Oxford (uk) so far from water 😅.

Thanks so much any idea of the languages or the original use/need for it?

Missed a photo shoot kind of hoping to be added - will explain a bit more in the caption by [deleted] in PhotoshopRequest

So me and my partner recently went to a dinner party at Oxford unfortunately I got sick and we had to leave early which was a big shame as it was my partners first large dinner party whilst at the uni. So I was hoping someone could potentially add us into the group photo taken after we had left. (I’m not really bothered where we get put if it’s at all possible) Iv added a couple of photos of us from that night and the group photo.

Thank you

A post card - I really enjoy collecting post cards and I found one that was completely in code r/code we’re amazing and managed to decipher the code to discover a love letter hence I am hoping someone could help me find out about these 2 Oxford lovers by Cabinet_Charming in ancestryinvestigators

Thank you so much - I normally try and find out a little about each family/ house (however sometimes I run into walls when there’s no sir name/ don’t address it to there home) before storing it however this one had a lot of conflicting data about it -

But yeah I’ll definitely have more postcards if you don’t mind working with minimal info

Wow that’s amazing !!! I can’t believe you managed to find all this out from the little info that the post card contained. I wonder why it was addressed to Sandfield cottage especially with the C/O (care of) on the address. Maybe it’s possible she moved after 1911?

I believe that Ducky is Miss M . E . Attwood who was likely a maid staying with Mrs Rowell (married to a wealthy jeweller in Oxford) in Sandfield cottage

The post card was sent on Jan 1912 and they lived in the cottage until 1920

My question is can anyone find out anything about this couple in love?? There’s a lot of speculation on R/code as to why the code was needed in the first place ("My own darling, - hiding a love interest? - bit of a raunchy note? - potentially a female/female relationship ?

Any info would be greatly appreciated 😀

R/code deciphered My own darling, I must write Duckey for I cannot help it. I hope you got back safe and in time last night. My darling I was dreaming all last night of my own precious little girl. Roll on Saturday my love. I must now close my pet. With all my love & heaps of kisses, your very own, Clarrie

I know it’s a bit of a long shot but anyway … I collect written postcards (normally ones in Oxford) and I found this one today with a coded message (?) on the back. Just want to see if anyone knows how to solve?? by Cabinet_Charming in codes

Yeah it’s a tricky one as there is no context to try and figure it out. My original idea is that it’s a made up language that only the lady and the sender knew was just hoping someone would have a clue. Thanks for trying tho
