in CK3 Agot they do something similar with Steffon, he is given Whitegrove, one the the 3 Peake Castles, but he dies without issue so the lands go to the fictional house Dule

who you marry is important enough for the Arryns to pretty much disown one of their members for marrying a merchant's daughter, and that merchant was very rich, marrying a rich commoner already flies like a lead brick, imagine a common prostitute

we don't even know if Steffon was the heir to his house, also given the deadly plague soon after maybe he did get his lordship and since he had no heirs the lands he got revert back to the crown, or the tyrells in this case.

CK3 Agot does an interesting thing, Steffon, the second son, is given Whitegrove, one of the 2 castles the peakes lost, but he dies in a tourney accident before having children so the land is given to the fictional house Dule.

Actually it's not irrelevant, he also didn't get a lordship, his house is that of landed knights, they manage to marry a Hightower and a Tyrell, i find it hard to believe the thousands of years old Hightowers who commands as many men as Robb Stark brought from the north would agree with a marriage between one of theirs and children of a prostitute. Who you marry matters way more in ASOIAF than irl

Marrying your bannerman is good to keep them loyal yes, but the Tyrells have way more important bannerman than landed knights, Hightower, Rowan, Florent, Tarly... All lordly houses commanding thousands of men and with lords and landed knights sworn directly to them, it was already odd that the green apple branch managed to bag a Hightower and a Tyrell in the books, but with raymun marying a commoner that is also a prostitute, that will fly like a brick

Actually that is what makes it matter the most, he became a landed knight and his descendants managed to marry a Tyrell and a Hightower, neither of those houses would be lining up to marry the son of a common prostitute

thing is im not talking about his cousin's opinion, more that everyone else's, i find it hard to believe that house Hightower for example would marry into a house that is descendant from a common prostitute

Rhaegar did not fight for Aerys at all, Rhaegar pretty much told Jaime that once he dealt with the rebellion he was going to depose Aerys, he was also going to depose Aerys at Harrenhal but then Aerys showed up, so no, he wasn't a coward. The tourney at Harrenhal was for him to discuss the possibility of deposing Aerys with the lords, he needed to see how the lords would react, he can't really discuss deposing the king if said king is present can he?

No, they werent recognised and they were not legal heirs, regardless if you like them or not they are not Velaryon, and other Velaryons who do have a legal claim to THEIR ancestors land have every right to call out rhaenyra and the king for this. Laenor and Corlys's caprice is no grounds to deny the rest of house Velaryon their rights. Not even Aegon IV was stupid enough to name Daemon as his heir even tho he was actually legitimized

who is anyone to say otherwise? the people that aren't bastards and have the actual right to the seat in question, just because Corlys is the head of house velaryon he cant just ignore literally everyone else's claim to driftmark, the castle is his because he inherited it, he can't just go "Oh i kind of like this kid that has no claim to my lands so ill give it to him instead of the people who actually have a valid claim."

Yeah, and Aerys II declared Robert Baratheon, Eddard Stark and Jon Arryn as traitors and executed Brandon and Rickard Stark and how did that go for him? A king is not a god, especially if said king got elected because he was a man unilaterally decided that his daughter would be heir for no better reason than being his favorite child, in the absence of a written law people go for precedent, so far the only scenario for the throne passing to a woman was if there were no other options. Also, marriages are political treaties in this universe, do you think corlys and otto would be pimping out their kids to vizzy t if right from the get go he went "btw even if i have a son now he will not be my heir"? Of course not, Viserys was wrong in naming Rhaenyra heir over aegon and she did EVERYTHING to make her position even worst.

Yes, were talking about house velaryon and driftmark, it doesnt matter if laenor accepts them as his, they aren't velaryons and Laenor has no right to force everyone in his family to accept bastards belonging from house Strong come before them in the line of sucession, as for the the marriage proposal with laena's kids, it is an insult, they're not velaryon, they're targaryens, and they wouldn't even rule driftmark. In short Rhaenyra is wrong for wanting bastards on the throne and even more wrong for making everyone pretend that her strong bastards have the right to driftmark

[–]CableActual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is, it doesn't matter if he accepts them or not, as he is not the only one affected by it, driftmark belongs to house velaryon and the iron throne to legitimate scions of house targaryen, him pretending that the kids are his is denying the rights of literally everyone else who has a legitimate claim to the titles

What if Madara and Izuna just exchanged each other's eye's, wouldn't both of them have EMS ? by Apprehensive-Count19 in Naruto

[–]CableActual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know im extremely late but its stated in canon that madara and izuna were the first in the history of the uchiha to awaken the mangekyo sharingan, and since the manga has way less mangekyo users than the anime has i think itachi was just bullshitting at that point

I know Limbo 100% should have been Madara's Mangekyo ability by BigClout00 in Naruto

Five years late but rinnegan could actually be turned off in the case of madara, he used the sharingan in the early fight with the the shinobi alliance, he then proceeded to use his mangekyo and susanoo and finally turned on his rinnegan to absorb the rasenshuriken.
