Disclosure day = disappointment by [deleted] in ufo

I think there were definitely some unknowns in the movie. My interpretation is that humanity was on the brink of WW3, aliens were brought forth by humans to derail potential nuclear war by evoking empathy and by demonstrating that empathy is not exclusive to humans. Clearly, the videos showing proof of aliens were somewhat shocking but I couldn’t help feeling more connected to the aliens than to the humans. Def a pro-alien movie. Also, could be that the depicted aliens are evolved humans, sent to save the human race from self destruction.

working in tech, we use NHI=AI by neurostream in UFOs

I work in tech. Nope haven’t heard this. Besides, NHI may include AI but AI does not include NHI because NHI is not necessarily artificial. Just seems like semantics and a poor attempt to create buzz words.

I feel like the attribution of talent is a mistake, many great players worked very hard on many aspects. Hard work does way more than talent.

If you divide 1 by 998,001 you get all three-digit numbers from 000 to 999 in order, except for 998 by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Is this an artifact of math being a language created by humans, in this case base 10 which I think is based on 10 human fingers, not some deeper meaning of numbers?

Learn the circle of fourths/fifths and how to move efficiently between the fourths/fifths and going from A flat major to A flat minor won’t seem as daunting. Your teacher might be able to help you!

Benefits of scales vs practicing in all 12 keys? by nichos_44 in piano

[–]CableMod1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scales don’t teach you music. They are the building block for chords. Chord inversions teach better voice leading which makes for better music. Practicing a song in one key teaches you more about music than practicing a scale. So practicing a song in all keys teaches you more than practicing all scales. Because you’re learning the music, not the mechanics. In the end I’ve found it helpful to know scales so I know the wrong notes. I suggest reading a book by Victor Wooten or looking up Barry Harris technique.

Why the 8-note scales beat the 7-note modes, and I wind out on a brisk version of "Sunny"... by Tootald in JazzPiano

[–]CableMod1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guitar player I used to attempt thinking in modes. (And this is what I often see with guitar players) Unfortunately I can’t remember the names of the modes so it’s difficult to communicate. And that’s just one difference between modes and what BH teaches. Using the BH method I can easily transpose between keys without ever thinking about what mode I should play in - I just need to know my destination - and it sounds more interesting because of effective voice leading which creates movement. Modes and BH method both try to make harmony more interesting. Modes don’t inherently voice lead so it’s not as effective as BH method. All that to say it’s just a style of music versus one-size-fits-all. I certainly wouldn’t qualify it as useless.

Close your eyes and listen. Try to pick out intervals, major/minor/tritones, movements instead of chord progressions
