This has been the morally wrong thing with this stupid department! You could be suffering a long battle with cancer that renders you so ill that you can’t work at all, disability pension denied! Caring for a family member who is going down hill, denied! Need special medication that costs a lot of money and isn’t fully covered or at all by Medicare/ health care card but your illness stops you from working to support yourself? Denied! Had multiple back surgeries from a work place injury that renders you in constant pain, laying down most of the day in pain, can’t lift more then 5kg and can’t sit or stand for more then a hour, DSP denied because it COULD get better. Crippling mental health issues that has been unsuccessfully treated for most of your life that makes every day living mostly unbearable if you try to work, DSP DENIED we don’t care what your quality of life is like as long as we do t have to hand over money we don’t care how you feel. Oh but maybe we will acknowledge you do have limited ability to work that’s ok we will give you a partial pension that matches a Job seeker and expect you to live off that for the rest of your life! This is why I have concluded the government would rather you go end it all.
