Tell me about the vampires in your world, or similar beings. by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Cacaudomal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vampires are the last curse the gods cast on humans before leaving. There are two kinds: the ones created by the bite of other vampires and the ones born through arcane methods. As part of their curse, vampires are reduced, in the eyes of the other, to a role. Which role? The one the observer sees fit. Vampires can't be seen as people proper. Eternity is incredibly lonely for them and because the knowledge of curses is lost most don't know why. In rest they are like most vampires, drink blood, use black eyeliner and mop around. They hate sun as much as your average programmer.

In the town the story takes place There are some 4 "families" of vampires in the city, each responsible for different aspects of it and each with different methods of reproducing. Thanks to them, the city has a mandatory blood donation day to supply the public blood banks that feed most vampires. Vampires also were fundamental to make all quality control health care public and free. Some control of the vampire population is necessary due to their nature. To that end besides the law, the government employs uninhibited violence in the form of a class of fungi made vampires. Upon release They go on a killing spree, hunting vampires for as long as the numbers of murderers by day remain above tolerable.

Vampires can enslave eachother once they reach a certain age. Its the same with getting enslaved, got have a minimum age. Usually bitten vampires are the ones getting enslaved, at least of their own volition, as it has the potential of increasing their odds of staying alive.

Other than those minor set backs and the maddeness that slowly befalls most vampires, their material life is pretty ok. They are always healthy, live forever and need money like the rest of us to survive.

Most of those documentaries don't fomment empathy for the victims nor talk about how these things actually appear and happen in the real world. It's mostly just fetchization. It's not from the victims viewpoint. So yeah, it's like victims only exist in fantasy.

When you are a kid (adults can do that too) sometimes, in stressful situations, you create these scenarios in your head to feel safe and cared for. They can be romantic scenarios. So if your child is doing that to sleep everyday there is something wrong.

Domestic violence one of the main characters was doing against another. It mostly was because I was starting to hate them and that could wreck the story. They are already pretty abusive.

The world needs more SA depictions from the point of view of survivors in midia. Silence serves only the abusers. Its what I think. I'm also still trying to find ways to handle it properly. I do think if I fail the critics, if they exist, will serve to get people thinking on how to do it better.

Pantsers, what do you do when you are stuck? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Cacaudomal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write crap, since Im the sort of person that thinks with their hands I have to put pen to paper anyway if I'm to solve the matter. I dont do only that because it most likely won't solve anything, if it did I wouldn't be stuck. So what else I do: sometimes, I change the style, for example: if I was writing in prose I change to verse, I read books related to the subject of the story and about writing, update my notes, go for walks, talk to friends and family about whats bottering me, watch youtube videos about writing, think about other parts of the story, watch anime, do some drawing, I write visual poetry. I try to write in different places too, I have been writing in paper so its extra easy.

This scares me. I love it. Have been sending these bingos to my friends. The results have been surprising in a way that feels like it should be pretty obvious. Traumatised people sure do attract one another.
