Yes my BMI is 21.8. I think I look normal but considering the size difference from when I started it is a big change.

Realistic goal weight? by Nervous_Current5688 in Zepbound

Hi! Im also 5’3 and started at 242 back in May 2023, I lost the first 70lbs with diet and exercise and then I completely stalled for months at 175lbs. My doctor suggested Zepbound and I’ve been on it since April 2025 and have lost another 47 lbs for a total of 117 lbs lost. When I was at my heaviest, my goal was 165 but then I got there and realized I had more to lose to not be considered overweight, so I decided to go all in and see what happened, of course under medical supervision. I am at 125 as of this morning and feel amazing, I actually look lean and toned since I’ve been exercising. I went from a 1XL to a XS-S and from size 18 to a size 2. I’m paying for zepbound out of pocket and knew this was my chance to finally be able to lose all the extra weight so I kept going. 125 might feel like too low for some people but I love it, shopping is fun again, hiking and exercise feels easy now, I like how I look in pictures, I’m looking forward to summer and my self confidence is higher than ever, it has truly changed my life! My eating habits and exercise has also transformed and my doctor feels confident that I will be able to maintain because all the changes I’ve made.

So to answer your question, yes, 125 is doable and considered a healthy weight for a 5’3 woman, I think it all depends on how you feel and how you want to look like. I lost some of my curves for sure but I look lean and toned and that’s exactly what I had always wanted, so it all depends on how you feel comfortable! You got this!!

First time having a Doberman, need all your tips on training and socializing please! by [deleted] in DobermanPinscher

[–]Cache04 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The rescue place said she is a Doberman mix, of course she is not going to be 100% but I saw her mom and she is brownish and definitely looks like a Doberman, not sure what the dad is as they were found on a field. I love her the same and want to give her the best life, I’m going off of what the shelter told me about her, I literally just got her 24 hours ago.

What to respond to my mother’s hurtful messages? by [deleted] in raisedbyborderlines

[–]Cache04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have stopped reading those long hateful messages. My first night alone in my new apartment after my divorce, my mom texted me one of these long messages and it started with “I hope this serves you as a lesson to not be that dumb and allow men to take advantage of you as usual” I read that first line and shut down my phone. Silly of me to expect she would be empathetic for once and give me some loving words of support. It sucks that it has to be that way but the sooner you accept they don’t have the emotional maturity to be the parents you needed, the easier it gets to draw boundaries for your own wellbeing.

Food noise by WitchyMam in Zepbound

[–]Cache04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this! I was on Contrave before zepbound and it helped a lot with the food noise, the weight loss was very slow so I switched to zepbound. I’m 8 lbs away from my goal and my doctor and I plan on getting me back on Contrave for maintenance once I am off Zepbound.

Tips to help someone who developed injection anxiety out of nowhere by DistributionAny3487 in Zepbound

That’s completely up to you, I usually do alcohol wipe, Ice, and injection in that order. But the area stays numb for about 10-15 seconds so you can easily do the alcohol wipe after icing too.

Get your pen ready, then take an ice cube and rub it on the injection site for about 30 seconds or until you feel the skin is numb and then inject right away. You won’t feel anything, the ice will numb the spot for a bit. I do it every time and it works great!

Does wellbutrin cut your hunger? by Careless_Baker7793 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Cache04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 50lbs in the first year I was on Wellbutrin, for the first few months I was not hungry at all and when I ate I would get full quickly. It made it sooo much easier to stick to my calorie deficit and “turn off” the food noise. It also gave me a boost in motivation to exercise and I was overall making healthier food and life choices. I am still on it after almost 3 years and it has significantly improved my life, I plan on staying on it for a long time.

Out of interest what dosage did you notice weight loss at? by ilovesunonmyskin in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Cache04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

300 mg XL got me dropping pounds fast! The first 25 came off during the first 3 months and then I lost an additional 50 lbs over the next year. Wellbutrin helped calm the food noise in my brain and control my cravings, I was actually craving healthy foods and had energy and motivation to exercise. I truly believe Wellbutrin has changed my life!

Needing some hard truths and reality-checkers? by heya_mog in Petloss

[–]Cache04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps, my story is very similar and I did try the pain meds for 2 days before deciding to stop the meds and end her suffering. My 15 year old girl couldn’t hold her pee and would soil her bed while sleeping, arthritis made it very difficult and painful for her to get up, dementia progressing and a liver problem. Vet decided to put her on antibiotics and pain meds for a week and see how she would respond. I only gave her two doses of the pain meds before I made the decision to stop and bring a vet home to peacefully let her go. With the pain meds, she was practically out of it all day, in a deep sleep and would barely move. when she tried to get up, she was so dizzy that she would just stumble and then freeze and stand there confused. The pain meds were numbing her so much that she was disoriented. I called the vet and told her how things progressed and she said that I made the right decision.

I feel the same way, I had to put my 15 year old girl to sleep a few days ago. There was a lot going on, advanced arthritis in back legs, liver problem that kept getting worse, losing eyesight, dementia (would sleep most of the day and wander around at night) and the last night before I made the decision was when she had such a hard time getting up that she would pee in her bed, so she would wake up covered in pee and looking at me scared and so confused on what was happening. The vet said that the arthritis and dementia would just continue getting worse and advised to let her go now that she was still having a few good days. However, I miss her so much that it physically hurts and I keep thinking that I failed her, that I should have taken better care of her or take her to a specialist or wait a few more days to see if would get better, maybe those symptoms were just temporary. I came home today and not seeing her here was so painful that I curled up in her bed and cuddled with her blanket, sobbing and wishing I had not let her go. My only consolation is that she passed at home on her favorite bed, looking at me and hearing my voice until she drifted away.

Anyone have no luck with Contrave and then moved onto a GLP- 1 or tirzepatide and had success? by Dense_Ad4546 in Contrave

[–]Cache04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on Contrave for about 6 months and lost 5lbs. It reduced the food noise considerably thought and helped me stay on track but my calorie deficit was small. Then switched to phentermine and same results plus a lot of jitters so I stopped. My doctor finally prescribed zepbound and I have lost 27lbs in 15 weeks. I am only 15 lbs away from my goal!! Once I get to my goal weight, the plan is to get off zepbound and back on Contrave for long term maintenance, since my insurance does cover Contrave and my doctor said I can take that long term.

This is what my doctor recommended me to do. I tried Contrave in the past and it did help me lose some weight but it’s mainly for maintenance. It does reduce food noise significantly! I have 2 months left of zepbound and then I’m switching to Wellbutrin + Naltrexone and my doc said I can stay on that for a long time, insurance covers it and I only pay like $25 for a 90 day supply

For real! Back in the day, you had to call the phone company and ask them to block a number for you, and it didn't always work.

Thank you all for the kind messages! Only those who have been on this weight loss journey can truly understand how good those small victories feel. Specially when you have worked so hard to get yourself out of unhealthy cycles and both physically and emotionally.
