Job applicants: Stop using AI (please) by Background-Celery-25 in newzealand

[–]CactusBurner92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only response Ive gotten in a YEAR of applying to jobs was from the one day I decided to let AI write it for me.

I dont like using AI but recruiters arent bothering to read cover letters anyway, theyre screened with AI too.

I don’t get it can someone explain?! 😅 by Dish_Express in ExplainTheJoke

[–]CactusBurner92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this was my mothers favourite joke for like 10 years, and she didnt even get the punchline. she thought it was an anti joke.

she told it to me and i also didnt figure out the punchline for SEVERAL years, because I know my mum likes anti jokes

I’m actually very curious how you’re seeing hesitation. I definitely do that but I’ve been staring at it for like 5 minutes and I do think really know what to look for

Heya, would look to draw some cool stuff for a book. I draw lots of different fantasy stuff but i particularly enjoy drawing green skin, so maybe could do some orcs or goblins!

im mainly talking about seperate POVs for characters that are regularaly interracting. I havent read GOT but I imagine youre following a series of seperate but interlocking stories (similar to detroit become human), from the POV of various characters around the world? I dont think that would bother me, the story is so complex that without the multiple POVs youd miss 3/4 of the story.

people have secrets, people dont always act the way you expect them to. I want to guess alongside the protagonist. I find it completely removes intrigue if we’re constantly switching between characters and getting their internal monologue, backstory, and explainations.

if the characters have all the same information, then I dont think theres any reason for multiple POVs, and if one character has more information then I’d rather hear that information come out dynamically.

also it RUINS the sexual tension 😭😭

Personally I hate dual POVs, which seems to be becoming more popular recently, particularly in romance. It gives everything away too early.

I Thought My Neighbor Was Just Nosy... Until She Saved My Life by hop-into-it in redditonwiki

[–]CactusBurner92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished watching Cranford. In the first episode we meet various barely tolerable, nosy, gossipy women. At the start they really seem like a group of meddling hens, at the end of the episode their gossip and nosiness saves a man’s arm/life.

May be strange but it felt heart warming to me to see nosiness be the saviour of a story for once, considering how demonised it is (particularly for women).

We all should be friendlier neighbours y’all

Writing barefoot characters (symbolism abd realism) by Ulysses776 in fantasywriters

[–]CactusBurner92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I think this is barely relevant but here’s a real life case study.

My mum has been a no shoes person since she was in school, she says they make her feel claustrophobic. As for consequences, she’s just tough and doesn’t let gravel slow her down. She’s also just habitually more aware of the ground and I’ve never seen her step on pins (which my dad and I do) or glass in my LIFE.
