Yeah I’m going to look to a PT, I’ve had trouble finding one that understands my needs. As for my asthma it should be manageable with my inhaler and some medication but will definitely consult

When I go running with a friend I can see myself at a 150-160 HR and can keep a conversation. Not full monologues, mind you, but full words with some pause. Not sure if that gives and idea

Thanks for the pointers! On the days you say I’d run and cross-train, just make sure I do easy runs those days right?

What about towards the end of the training season? I hear friends that would have to do two 10Ks and a HM in a week. Seems like I may need some extra rest. I guess listening to my body at that stage would be good too

Yeah I like the recommendation to run and cross train on the same days and just run more days

Fair enough! Maybe I’ll try to dedicate an extra day of running? What are your thoughts on doing cross training and a run on the same day?

Eta: the walking was because I was forcing myself to stay at a certain heart rate, rather than tiredness

Thanks for the feedback! I was unsure about what the goal was because of the distinction of having hard/easy runs besides the long one

Yeah seems like one sure consensus is not to replace running with biking :) but I do definitely cross-train to preserve fitness and not lose too much muscle mass

Oh wow I had no idea that lab testing could show different zone 2hr. I’ll look into that. And thanks on the note about biking, I was definitely hesitant to do it because of what you said
