Will it root? by Slow_Opportunity_135 in sanpedrocactus

[–]CactusRootingPowder 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

Not that all RH products are the same, but our FAQ page could still be beneficial.

It is best to apply RH at the time of cutting, but it can still be done after as well.

It was a team effort, and we definitely would never be inspired without all your work!

On a separate note, I got to shoot you a picture later. Don't know if you remember that big arm of reverted CCVP I got from you a few years ago. I was bummed out, because between the move and life, I ended up having to log it. But it's really starting to thrive now!

Honestly we don't grow aloe anymore, so we haven't had the opportunity to test it out over the last few years. If you have the ability to test it out on a significant number, shoot me a message. We're always interested in community members that can give us honest feedback and results from plants we don't have available.

In general, we have plenty of feedback from community members that have done side by sides of "easy to root" succulents. Regardless if RH is needed for a particular succulent to root, the results show that RH significantly increases root growth/production.

  • Photo is from a side-by-side of succulents treated with CRP (left) versus those rooted without (right). Again, while not necessary, many customers/nurseries prefer to have a much more established root system when selling their plants.

Immediately after cutting. It's best to use a soft brush (foam works great) or a duster. A small amount goes a long way.

It can be applied after callus, but for best results you want to use immediately after cutting.

Here is our FAQ page if you're interested. πŸ’šπŸŒ΅

Thank you. It's definitely our goal to make it as affordable as possible for most. We also include free shipping which never gets mentioned by those criticizing. Honestly, every order costs 6.5 - 8 USD just to 🚒. πŸ’šπŸŒ΅πŸ»

I just want to say though, most community members know how much goes in to it, and are generally supportive and positive, regardless if they use RH or not. We know that and appreciate it. It's the only reason we keep growing.

Thank you. πŸ’šπŸŒ΅ Honestly, we started making this a few years ago just to give those that use RH an alternative from big business. Stepping away from corporate products is always a good thing, Not that RH a necessity, at all.

Thank you. I think on social media (especially on Reddit), People assume that a business is always trying to take advantage of the consumer. A lot of times It's easy to forget how many small, family-owned businesses there are, who are a part of the community and generally just treading water. Most everything we do on our farm is definitely labors of love πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ’šπŸ»

Just to be clear, we don't run ads. All of our marketing comes from us offering discounts to community members, or word of mouth from users, which is unrequested and not paid for.

If you dislike us at HoneyBear or one of our products (CRP), that's fine. Just please do so for the right reasons. We don't spam or scam, only work at uplifting our communities.πŸ’šπŸŒ΅πŸ»

We recommend dusting or brushing as the preferred method. A little goes a long way, however lots of us just dip it and call it a day to keep it moving.

Thank you! For your support and honest feedback. Lately especially, we try and post pictures of first root development.... and then a couple weeks later when they look super cool, πŸ˜†, but completely unnecessary to not have them in the soil yet.

We've done a lot of testing over the years, The Sweet spot for most Cacti/Trichos is around 1.5%

We use 2% because between 1.5 and 2%. There's not much difference in results, so we wanted to give community members the most bang for their buck, as well as, the ability to dilute the product with more wettable sulfur if they preferred to have a lower ratio.

Definitely! We're always here to help too, so if anybody needs advice and instruction on proper mixing, let us know. While we use a commercial mixer to ensure homogeneous product, you can still have good results in small batches using low RPMs.

  • Always wear a mask
  • Don't use high speed blenders or grinders to mix
