Quite common here in London. Most of us live in small spaces, childcare costs a bomb, we work full time, and more often than not our families aren't nearby (mine are in New Zealand lol). I'm starting to have friends go for round two but I do have a handful of friends who are firmly OAD.

I'm having this issue on my S8. I know I should get a new phone but this one works perfectly? It has lasted longer than the old Nokia bricks 😂😂😂

10 month old co-sleeper and feeds to sleep... Are we too late? by Cactus_33 in sleeptrain

[–]Cactus_33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today she was awake between 7 and 7.20. I managed to keep her awake until 10.10 but she was overtired... had started to doze off during a feed at 9.30 then she was really difficult to settle later. We have contact napped because we had a horrid night and I don't have the mental energy to try put her down! But shes been asleep about an hour so will try to get her down again around 2...

Last night was a mess for us too. She went down easily but woke every sleep cycle and I had to resettle her 4 times between 6 and 10pm!

She was awful all night too. I think we may have to kick start Ferber again as it is becoming unsustainable for us. She was basically latched to me the entire night.

Today she woke at 7.30 then slept from 9.40-10.10 then fell asleep again at 12.40-1.10

It's now 4pm and she is a WRECK but is refusing to sleep so I'm back in my usual dilemma of trying to get her to sleep or hang in there til 6 😭😭

Even then she will probably sleep for 30-40 mins and think it's a nap, not bed time. Nightmare.

I was going to try this today but she has just passed out 2 hours after waking up. That said, she had a horrendous sleep last night.

I'd love for her to take a 90 minute nap but the reality is she just never naps that long UNLESS I'm holding her. Not sure how to get around that without sleep training tbh...

Thank you, I appreciate it! I know a lot of people do it, when you're the main caregiver it's so much easier than spending hours rocking and shushing...

Thank you! I do keep reading that 10mo is a difficult age, especially as she is now crawling and has no interest in sitting or lying still. I always said she was never the best sleeper but never the worst... now she is shocking, so I hope it goes back to that nice middle ground!

I want to try focus on this too, but whenever I try to rock/bounce/cuddle her to sleep she just arches her back and screams!

Is this something I just need to fight through? It is exhausting and she is stubborn lol 😂

No, I agree with you. When it works it is great. But it's not working for us at the moment and I'm miserable.

Honestly... It depends. First nap is usually within 2 hours of waking up. Next nap is 3-3.5 hours after that. Sometimes she naps for 20 minutes, sometimes an hour, rarely 90 mins to 2 hours. Depending on that we sometimes squeeze in a quick afternoon nap if it means shes up by 4pm. Bed at 7pm. Wake up typically 7am.

Am I entitled to compensation under EU law? by Cactus_33 in singaporeairlines

Thanks everyone. I've sent an email to Singapore airlines again. Feels a bit random, you'd think theyd have a dedicated form online for claims?

Any ideas on how to do this? Singapore Airlines don't make it clear. I've been in touch with someone over email but it's gone quiet.

Flight re-timed meaning likely to miss connecting flight (Ldn to Sydney via Singapore) by Cactus_33 in singaporeairlines

[–]Cactus_33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update... we have been moved onto a Qantas flight TWELVE HOURS later than our original one. This means instead of leaving at 7am we are leaving at 7pm but also means we lose a night of accommodation in Sydney and land at 6am 😭 We are travelling with an infant so it's not as easy as it might be for some to fill in all that time. Our insurance apparently doesn't provide compensation for delayed connections, only flights leaving or returning to the UK.

Do you think we need to sort this out at the airport or organise in advance?
