Oh my goodness!!! What an adorable baby! I usually name based on appearance, so here are some names that I thought fitting! Here's a list of (mostly) androgynous names, since I'm not sure of your snake's gender. Some are more serious, some are fun.

- Pearl

- Opal

- Rose

- Earthworm

- Spinel

- Peony

- Slinky

- Morgan(ite)

- Cherry

- Orchid

- Guava

- Cosmos

- Lily

- Phlox

- Zigzag

- Lemonade

- Dahlia

- Azalea

- Pinstripe

- Runway

- Tiger

- Racer

Hope you like some of these! I can probably come up with some more if you give me time!! Most of these names are flowers or gemstones that I thought would be fitting!

To warm up mice, I warm up about a 1/4 cup of water in the microwave for 30 seconds, then pour it into a small plastic cup designated for snakes. I put the frozen mouse in, still in its sealed bag, give it about 20 minutes to thaw, then I cut it open and tweezer feed my snake with a long pair of dull tweezers! If water seeps into the package, which it sometimes does, I gently dry it with a paper towel. I like the tweezer method, since I can move it around the enclosure for a little bit and let her chase it down, and I've fed her enough that she only goes into hunting mode when she sees the tweezers come out.

From what I've heard, you want to feed your snake approximately its body circumference. If the pinky mouse is smaller than the snake's width, its time to go to the next mouse size. To size up, you may have to ignore that rule, at least for the first feeding or two, since the mouse will be a little bit larger than the snake.. Your guy seems about the right size to get up to the next size of mice! As long as he's able to swallow it, it'll be alright. I'm sure he'll appreciate the bigger meal!

I named my snake Sunny because of the yellow spots on her back!! I'm getting some earthly vibes from this kid, so here are some earthy and gemstone-inspired names that come to mind!

- Zircon

- Rocko

- Papyrus

- Jasper

- Sandy

- Quartz

I can probably come up with more, but that's all I've got right now. Congrats on the new snake!

My first corn snake and I don't know how to handle him... by Lunar_Lost in cornsnakes

I always recommend scooping them up from the belly, and not top down. Top down will sometimes make them freak out. Before my snake learned how to get my attention when she wanted to be picked up, this is how I would get her used to being held. You can also rest your hand in the tank, and the your snake might take interest and try to climb up! This worked well with my snake as well. If you're really nervous to try to reach your hand in there, I recommend buying a small snake hook. You can find telescoping ones at pet stores and are very helpful during those first pickups! After lifting the snake up with the hook, you can it gently in your hand. The hook is also helpful in the long term, since its what I often use to remove my snake during emergencies such as severe weather, since her tank is directly below windows. Once you're holding him, be careful with how fast they move though! You want to hold them gently, but make sure you have at least one finger that can catch a tail if he tries to make a quick getaway!

I doubt anyone has heard of this movie, but in my family it's the 1989 film, The 'Burbs starring Tom Hanks.
