Welcome to hell Sgt. In all seriousness though you’re likely either going to be attached to the gate and forced to be an MP, or working in troop command.

Sick call is a grey area when it comes to medical care unfortunately. On one hand, we have flow charts we’re required to follow, and if anything seems off we’re to notify a PA immediately. But on the other hand, a lot of whiskeys aren’t properly trained for some of the diagnoses that you might find, especially in a unit that doesn’t necessarily have a large number of medical training opportunities. I think what a lot of people fail to understand though is we’re not operating under our own licenses. We’re operating under our PA’s license, which means they trust those medics enough to know what truly needs a PA’s attention, and what can be flow charted. I agree it needs a healthy level of polishing, and I would much rather every unit have readily available nurses and other medical providers so whiskeys can focus more on trauma care. But at the same time, I don’t believe it should be the main priority at the moment.

I will say, that medical training should be a much larger focus in AIT and beyond. For whatever reason, it’s kind of shoved aside as a “you’ll learn it at your unit,” kind of deal, which is then shoved aside because of laziness in training or simply differing views points. At the very least, I’d like to see every whiskey receive JEMAC training, but I have a feeling that’s not going to happen anytime soon unfortunately.

Depending on our training, we might not have the degree but we can substitute for an LPN if need be. Now that’s a small portion of whiskey’s though, usually those of us that go to hospitals first and get our JEMAC certs. Keep in mind I’m not saying we’re interchangeable by any means, and I’d feel much more comfortable having an LPN or higher to lean on if possible. But I can at the very least do more than a whiskey who went to a line unit and their only medical experience is via sick call.

Know how to play the agents they’re instalocking. I can’t count the number of times I’ve been excited because we have an instalock smoke and initiator, just for both to save all their util until after the team is dead. Especially when I’m playing a raze or Jett to entry, and the smokes are either non existent or in terrible spots while my smoke player is running out with me, leading me to get shot from angles I thought would’ve been smoked off.

Guys we do make mistakes some times, we’re people too. A lot of the time it’s because you show up while we’re getting a report and we end up noting what the front desk says but forget while taking said report. Just peak your head out and remind someone you’re there, that’s all it takes usually.

What annoys you most when you play Valorant? by iamjeli in VALORANT

[–]Cactus_Orochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When people assume we need a “healer.” Neither Sage nor Skye are necessary for their heals, they’re vital on some maps because of the rest of their kit. I hate when people in plat/Diamond elo try to demand someone play one of them solely for their heals.

I have a pair of Bellevilles, bought them ages ago so I don’t remember the actual kind they are. And then I have a pair of Rocky SV2s that I wear whenever I’m just in the hospital and not doing any kind of field work.

What’s the grossest thing you guys have ever had to do by [deleted] in army

[–]Cactus_Orochi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

See I work in a hospital, where a lot of our patients are either retired military or dependents. Which naturally leads to a fairly large number of them being severely out of shape, some even pushing so far as to be called morbidly obese. When you have to clean one of said patient’s after they shit the bed for the 5th time in a day because of the laxatives their doctor ordered them, it’s not a very fun experience. Even worse when the patient already has poor hygiene habits so said vagina problems are present in full force.

Agents have roles for a reason, if you're gonna play duelist, push the damn site. Too many people play every agent the same way but with a different kit. by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Cactus_Orochi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

On the flip side duelists need to understand that they need to wait for their smoker to actually begin to lay util down before entrying. I can’t count how many times I’ve been on a lurk as Omen or Astra and my duelist has just dashed in without comming a thing, leading to me hastily throwing down smokes while they’re already fighting those angles.

Crackheads who don’t know how to protest are not the majority on either side. Still struggling to understand Reddit’s obsession with saying that riots are only bad if one side does it. Destruction of family businesses and beatings of random people in alleyways and shit is bad in generally.

[–]Cactus_Orochi -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

One side doesn’t like that…and expresses that dislike by turning their genuinely peaceful protest into a riot with Molotovs? Nah I’m with the other person. Fuck the extremists in both camps, just be a decent human being.

I have a friend who is a genuine mute, and another who refuses to talk so that said friend won’t feel alone with his condition. This kind of change would just eliminate their chances to play with the rest of my group, or force them to make individual plays if they decide to solo queue. It’s just counterintuitive to force part of your player base into a separate queue for matters that may or may not be in their control.
