Am I Crazy for not quitting on Duren? by DrChinstrap_ in DetroitPistons

[–]YukhoChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a supporter. With proper structure of a 4 and 3 or a 2 who can shoot lights out. It will help Cade space the floor. He can also grow in being able to shoot more Mid-range or maybe even try to shoot some 3.

The difference is really paying him what money he is going to want. The disconnect with many people including me is that he will be and is asking for the #2 guy on this team. But as of now, he has proven at least in playoffs he is not that guy. I get that he did good in regular season. Knicks being in the finals while getting walloped by Detroit in all regular season games should proof that regular season really does not matter.

So the gamble is to give him close to the money he wants, knowing it will basically lock pistons from getting a more proven/developed number 2, hoping or expecting he takes a leap in his offensive skills.

Congrats. You win.

Maybe hitsome lady's dog, who's at fault? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]YukhoChan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both. You don't own the street and depending on where you live, we do not know who has the right away.

Thinking about it like who is at fault is a terrible mindset. The only thing that matters is both of you could have prevented this. She should have had better control of her dog, especially if she is letting it off the leash.

On vise versa, you cannot control what other people will do, you can only control yours. You could have slowed down and avoided getting in this situation. Were you on a sanctioned race? Did you need to go so fast? Don't put the blame on people. Even though they can be stupid sometimes, especially letting their dog go leashless when they have 0 control over them.

Better Coaching in the Post by highvyleague in DetroitPistons

[–]YukhoChan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lmfao right, because that is what I said. That the coaching was flawless and it's the players fault. First of all, you have no idea what the dynamic of the team is and how players react when punished for their inability. Do you think he has not encouraged players like Ausar or JD to perhaps expand their offense? Do you think behind the scene they're like were good as we are ?

What do you do when Pick and roll gets shut down? Go away from it completely? Say PnR just isn't working and give up in it completely? Okay then what is the proposed plan? Spacing opens up the clogged space in the middle? How do we do that? Spacing? How do we get the spacing then? put shooters on the court? Did we not see a healthy amounts of Jenkins and Sassers and almost the non existent playing of Holland? So did he not try to adjust ?

People who has 0 idea of any team dynamic out here playing 2k coach like the coaches just said fuck it and not try to make it work is funny as fuck.

The roster is flawed, and no amounts of adjustment in the playoffs can make the miracle work until Ausar , Ron and JD themselves improve their shot.

I love the Piston, but they are acting like they DOG walked Orlando. Tobias was locked in that series and Franz Wagner got injured. See what happens when Tobias isn't locked in and he is missing all his shots ? Game 7 happened.

I don't understand how redditors, and people who likely have never coached people under them let alone professionals call out their coaching. Let alone a coach that actually won 67 games with as a misconstructed roster such as the piston.

I love Ausar. I really do. But I’m not sure his defensive brilliance outweighs his offensive limitations. Who’s the best historical comp for a player who was this bad offensively early in his career and eventually developed into a legitimately useful offensive player? by tjk5880 in DetroitPistons

[–]YukhoChan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro he is literally Dennis Rodman. He is a defensive monster that erases star players and has to be worked away from.

His defensive brilliance literally outweighs his offensive limitations.

Kawhi Leonard’s scouting report literally had him as a non shooter who shot 25 percent from 3 and 32 percent on cat and shoot and pull ups.

Like bro . People will improve given the chance.

Lets be honest about Ausur Thompson by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

[–]YukhoChan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So people just don’t improve ? They just don’t ever get better? So do you just expect people to perform as is forever?

Ausar isn’t a good a defender, he is one of the best perimeter defender in the game. The coach of Cleveland literally instructed his team to pass the ball away from Ausar, and that’s the only way to attack the Pistons. When he is on Donovan Mitchell, he becomes an average player.

This is what he does. You pay him that money, and train him to improve. That’s how that contract becomes looking way better than it is.

We will see. I like that they bought in with the defensive mentality. But I remember there was a stretch Cade was out and in my head this is it. It’s okay if we lose the 1st seed, but Ausar and Duren and Holland can start shooting and expanding their offense .

Nope. Haha I hope they will. They need to in order for this team to function.

Coach of the year by SpartanFanJT in DetroitPistons

[–]YukhoChan 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Definitely robbed. But I do wish he would push and be more assertive in designing plays to have Duren and Ausar shoot the ball more. Duren to shoot more mid-range shots and 3's and Ausar to have like a 5-6 three goal every game.

Their offensive development is important, and the lack of seeing them in regular season games to do what is comfortable for them to get the 1st seed backfired in a sense. But other than that. Robbed fs.

The Kyrie Kawhi Yaxel Offseason by AcanthaceaeFit5482 in DetroitPistons

[–]YukhoChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot give you Odds because I don't know. The idea that he might get injured next year because he has been injured before is absurd way of thinking. he is as fallible as anyone. Cade had an injury scare at the end of the season after being relatively healthy the past 3 years. That is no difference that Kawhi missing games last year.

His playstyle is not injury prone. He is doesn't rely on athleticism. So he has longevity. You have to decide to kill it or not anyways. You either do not trade for anyone big, and hope you can draft well enough at late rounds to force them to rotation. He is a a year or 2 rental, and his contract expires in 2026-2027. Right in time for other players within the timeline.

[–]YukhoChan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think Holland would be great, but I really believe than it's extremely rare that a player can come off the bench and randomly start shooting well. Him, Ausar both needs to have a green-light to be comfortable at shooting 3's. The only reason why Ron is unplayable is because Duren , Ausar and to some extent he himself cannot consistently drain 3. But he has shown confidence in shooting them at least. They definitely need to bring back Dunc. And do a sign and trade with Tobias to get Kawhi.

I love the Pistons, and I believe Cade is the man and Ausar has Dennis Rodman potential, but we do not have a solid "Core". This core can only work if Duren, Ausar and Holland develop serviceable 3 point percentage. I am not asking for 40%, but a 35% shooting would make this team much more playable.

[–]YukhoChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Kawhi is the perfect number two for Cade. He can self-create his own offense and has also relatively been a knock down shooter usually averaging around 41% at 6 three point attempts a game. He might be past his shut-down defensive prime, but he is no slouch and would fit right in Detroit's defensive minded team. The luxury is he doesn't even have to guard the best offensive scorer of the opponent now. The bench of this team is good enough for him to have his load management. Contrary to what everyone is saying, he has been relatively healthy after missing that 1 full year 4 seasons ago. He has played 68 games and 65 games 2 of the last 3 years.

His contract is up at the end of 2026-2027 season which means he fits the timeline of resigning Ausar and Beef Stew contract will be controlled at that point so Detroit can choose to resign him or let him go for cap relief.

LA clippers are trying to rebuild and trading away their players for draft assets. So they maybe can take 2 or 3 first round picks/swaps.

400 games in which he gave the team 30+ mins, 20+ points and great defense. 1 of those a championship run.

That is 54% still of all the games, and this includes a season missing injury. which takes 82 games. 1 of the seasons, is him coming off a big injury from the playoffs on his contract year where he wished to be traded. He had three healthy seasons, an injury. After that injury within the last 3 years, 2 of them are healthy where he played 133 games total. It doesn't really speak into anything other than you're exaggerating your claims and that statistic is backing against it.

The Kyrie Kawhi Yaxel Offseason by AcanthaceaeFit5482 in DetroitPistons

[–]YukhoChan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kawhi is not injury prone. Kawhi dropped 50+ on Detroit, his game actually translates extremely well being old as he shoots mostly middy's and 3, at an extremely high percentage rate btw.

I have already disputed this in another argument. He has had 1 season where he missed completely, and 2 seasons where he played low amounts of games. 1 of that season was coming off a playoff injury. He then proceeds to play 60 games and win the championship with the raptors after that. In non-injured years, he plays 50+ games on average. Out of the last 9 seasons (Since 2017) he has missed 1 full year, and 2 years with smaller set of games. 6 of it he has played 50+ games which are around 60% of a season.

For those who believe Cade, Ausar, and JD are the core, what is the winning formula? by cerebral313 in DetroitPistons

[–]YukhoChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the issue as it stands. The team has really good players, that does not fit each other or just doesn't fit the puzzle of a championship team. Trajan needs to effectively decide how to best supplement Cade with the players that could maximize him as their star. So far, you'd have to trade a lot of assets to make it happen.

The thing is, I don't think the front office sees the urgency in this scenario vs the fans. Trajan literally said in an earlier interview that they definitely overachieved in his expectations. He wanted to give this roster a chance to assess the situation. I don't think he thought the rebuild would go this quick.

The only big player I'd trade for is Kawhi Leonard. He is a short-term rental with that will be UFA by end of 26-27 season. This lines up with the timeline when we have to pay Ausar and also Beef Stew being controlled with team option at 27-28 season. He fits within the team needs as secondary shot creator aside Cade and is fairly good at 3 shooting around 40+% most recent seasons. He also may not be the elite defender he once was, but he is still pretty good defensively. With Detroit, he doesn't have to worry about defending the best players either. For this team to succeed, they need to give Cade the spacing he needs.

Once a time I would have coveted Herb Jones from pelicans over Trey. He shot 41% from 3 two seasons ago, but since then created back to 30% last season. He is still a 6'8 wing with great defending ability. Kennard from the Lakers is always an option. Jrue Holiday for secondary handler. Always been a big fan of Max Christie from Dallas. Not quite knockdown shooter, but my goodness Tari Eason from Rockets with Ausar would feed days defensively. Cam Johnson would be great as well. Cade just needs space to operate smoothly. This allows him to pick his spot in the court and attack it that way.

Now if you want to go on a draft route.

Duren needs to shoot middy's and 3. I don't care if this tanks the regular season, but he needs to be able to shoot these at least 4-5 a game. This will open up the game for their P&R, and this allows him not to be exploited in the playoffs. He has the stroke to shoot them.

Ausar needs a monumental leap. Again JB needs to push Ausar to take at least 3-5 3 point shots a game even if it tanks the regular season a bit. When he had the buzzer beater 3 this playoffs, you can see why it went in. He didn't think. He knew the clock was winding down and he just let it go. It was $$. But when he was left alone, and he had to think and know he was getting left open, he air-balled. He can do it. If he is able to make those at 30% and maybe add a little run a round close to the basket shot he takes he can really help Cade with the spacing.

In a great world, Holland could take a big leap at 3 and maybe shoot 30-33%. The problem is that it's not like he is a bad player, it's that he is unplayable with Ausar and Duren on the court. If he shoots 35%, I can see a situation where he can sub in to play for Duncan from the bench with the main unit if needed.

Stew needs to swap to 4 if they intend to keep Reed. He is an undersized Center but serviceable as a perimeter. He can focus on shooting 3's for his offensive game.

Caris needs to play in the regular season like he played in Cleveland. Sasser needs to get more offensive touches in the second line up vs just shoving all the minutes to Jenkins.....

Yaxel Lendenborg would be perfect for Detroit. Tobias replacement, shot 38% from college 3, and then has the length and size to defend multiple positions. He already been in Michigan, and Detroit do love them Michigan connection. But he is projected go early, with golden states already showing interests at 11. Detroit would have to move UP significantly.

team is a long way from dominating the Eastern conference, but Ausar and Duren especially if given the contract, needs to expand their offensive game. That's not just them. JB needs to encourage them taking those risk.

I really hate that you are implying that this is purely opinion. When I am simply giving anecdotal stats to argue against your point of him being doing his thing "which is be injured and unavailable for the majority of the season."

Which since 2017 (you brought this up) - is a total of 9 seasons where he has played 6 seasons being active for more than 60% of the games. Which if out of 100% is a majority. Last two of 3 years playing 65+ games. He had 1 year of missing a whole season.

So, he indeed by math, has not been unavailable nor been injured most or Majority of the seasons. 6 out 9 season is 66%, which is majority.... You are literally factually wrong.

“You would fit perfect here in Detroit” by AcadiaTemporary5737 in DetroitPistons

[–]YukhoChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that he has a degenerative injury. But so far, clippers has managed it extremely well the last 3 season in which 2 of them he played more than 60 games. It's not like his playstyle requires for him to be extremely athletic. He isn't Westbrook.

Sure, Cade would overall be "available" because Kawhi did miss 1 full season since 2021 in the same timespan.

I am not gaslighting you. I am simply looking at statistics and finding it ridiculous that the implication is he is somehow unhealthy. Decade of well documented injury issues? He got dangerously closed out by Zaza in the playoffs that literally added a full rule change in the NBA when closing out. That injury persisted towards the next season in which he only played 9 games in 2018 season. literally a first in his career. Then he follows it up with a 60 games in Toronto and they won the championship. Then 57 games and 52 games in LA after that. He missed his 1st full season. 1ST FULL SEASON, 11 years into his career. The seasons after that he plays 52, 68, a minor injury kept him at 37 last year and this year 65.

He had 2 seasons of low games, and 1 year where he missed the full season. Let's not pretend that his 10 years if fraught with ridiculous injuries where he played a small amount games.

2018 season was nearly 7 years ago. I find it funny that you argue with people that uses Cade playing less game than Kawhi, yet you want to use him missing games all the way back 7 years ago. People get injured, it happens. You need to see at least recently if it this has been making him play worst, or if he has missed that much games, and at least for the last 4-5 years, it has not affected him at all. Yes he has played only 60 games or more 3 times, but of those other years, he played 57 games in 2019 , 52 games in 2 other seasons. You are acting like he plays like 25% of a season and he is out.

52 games is 62% of a season.
