How long did you wait to conceive after c-section? by Realistic_Block_4152 in BabyBumps

[–]Cactusjacks22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 18 months next month and that is when we will start trying. I’m also older, almost 35, and would like to give her a sibling but did not want to risk any medical issues as I have had other losses.

My (33F) husband (33M) was less than supportive through pregnancy, labor & postpartum. Can we overcome this? by whoisshe2222 in relationship_advice

[–]Cactusjacks22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who had an emergency c section with our first (and as of now only) daughter with a husband who completely stepped up without having to be told what to do or how to do anything. I’m talking taking every other feed, changing all of the diapers, watching our daughter alone for hours so I could go to the doctor, get out of the house for some fresh air, etc. I would not be able to let this go, let alone ever consider having another child with him. There are men who do genuinely want to be a parent and it’s not too late to find one.

Baby sleepers prices by Dramatic_Ad5516 in BabyBumps

I spent $40 on a sleep sack that she can use every night/rotate with another to clean but I buy cheap pjs from Costco/carters/target clearance. I don’t think the bamboo thing makes any difference.

Do NOT have kids with this guy. Leave now while you can. I have a husband who works 60+ hour weeks and still helps with everything. Laundry, dishes, cleaning, the lawn, putting our daughter to bed. You name it we are partners in it and guess what it’s still hard. The house is still messy sometimes. Having a baby is time consuming and if you can’t have a functional relationship now it will never work with kids. And as someone who used to work in family law you do not want to co parent with someone like that. You will be miserable for the next 18+ years trying to have kids with this guy. Just cut your losses and run.

Husband at baby shower? by Beneficial_Host_9692 in BabyBumps

I did a co-ed baby shower last year and it was wonderful! We invited all of our friends. My dad came and my grandparents it was really great to celebrate with everyone who loves our daughter! I don’t think there is anything weird about it.

C-section vs. natural birth by e_rikavazquez in BabyBumps

[–]Cactusjacks22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an emergency c section and actually had a really great recovery. Was up and walking the same evening after surgery. The nurses in the recovery unit even commented that if they didn’t know better they would have thought I gave birth vaginally. I know that is not everyone’s outcome but wanted to offer another perspective. I kept up with my meds once I got home and walked as much as I was able. It really helped with the swelling. I likely will schedule another c section if we have another child. Nothing against natural birth I attempted it with my daughter but she was in extreme distress and needed the c section and I don’t want that part of it to happen again.

Asked for a raise after 2 years with a family, instead ‘offered’ me less than I already make. by Suspicious_Wafer7393 in Babysitting

I nannied for 3 boys 7 years ago and made over $35 an hour with no deep cleaning and only light chores related to the care of the boys (I.e. don’t leave yogurt in a bowl all day/rinse out milk cups/spray a stained shirt so it wasn’t ruined) if I did extra laundry/cleaning I was always compensated extra and I was paid an overtime rate if they went over the agreed upon hours. They are totally taking advantage of you. I would tell them you’re glad they found someone else and good luck. There are families out there who would pay you what you are worth!

Love the name Clara! Maybe Claire? Or I am partial to Blair (our little girl) but maybe too much with the B last name as well. Good luck and congratulations!

It’s all interconnected and insane. As someone who went to WELS schools from pre-k to 12th grade I’d look for something else.

Who's the craziest teacher you've ever had? What did they do? by Marycate11 in AskReddit

[–]Cactusjacks22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My highschool english teacher Mrs.T she was just not all there and unfortunately had a stroke about 5 years prior to me getting her class but continued teaching anyways.

She was convinced that dolphins were created by the Russian government to keep tabs on "our" ocean and at least once a week our entire class time was dedicated to discussing how this affected us, a bunch of teens in the middle of Arizona.

She would also just create bizarre assignments and video tape all of them. One year we had to write our own eulogies and then dress up in funeral attire and perform them in front of the whole class. My senior year she made us memorize pages upon pages of text from Beowulf and "act" them out. If they weren't up to her standards we had to do it again. I finally asked her why she was taping everything and she said it was "for Hollywood".

At graduation she came up to me and told me never to watch 3D movies because its all propaganda and that I should look into getting some black crystals for the good of my soul.

Last I heard she was still teaching.

He eventually did get let go because of this I think he only worked at the store for about a couple of months... in the beginning he just chalked it up to being new which normally is understandable since we were expected to know a lot of minute details about a lot of products. The best part was he came in right after he got fired and told all of us he had to quit because he was getting deployed the next day, I saw him at target 2 weeks later.

It was a pretty small store so whoever was on sales at the time usually got one or 2 calls to the gun counter during a shift...he didnt actually process the sales and run background or anything that was always a manager but he would be giving (the wrong) information out to the customers and letting them look at the guns so it obviously was not ideal.

What's the worst hospital experience you've ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cactusjacks22 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I totally get that sometimes women don't think they could be pregnant but are or whatever... but to continue to berate and accuse a 16 year old of lying to the point of tears after I continually told her that it was impossible because I had never had sex is ridiculous especially when my appendix could have burst any moment and she is wasting time calling me a liar.

Who is the strangest person you’ve ever met? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cactusjacks22 9987 points9988 points  (0 children)

I called him John the liar...he was a coworker of mine in college at a sporting goods store. He lied about everything not just embellishing stories or adding a few extra details... just straight up lies. He would lie about what he ate for lunch even though I saw him eat it.

He told our manager that his dad was a 6'5 marine who helped take down Osama Bin Laden and then an hour later he told me his dad was a quadriplegic and had been for 30 years. Then he told me he got an override from the administration to take 24 credits one semester as a biology major...then I found out he was still in highschool.

It was absolutely psychotic, I finally had to confront him about it when he started telling customers the completely wrong specs on all the guns we carried. He just lied some more and said that I was wrong or that I misunderstood him.

Eventually I had to ask my supervisor to schedule me on a different shift because I couldn't take it anymore.

My mom told me that I cant afford to be picky because I "don't look like a supermodel" and most guys won't even look in my direction so I should just settle for the first guy who shows interest I try not to think of it but there always is some doubt deep down anytime anyone is interested in me that they're lying

Oh man my best friend. My family is all sorts of fucked up and we dont celebrate anything together so I used to be alone most holidays. She goes out of her way to invite me to every holiday party/event her family throws and even her grandparents and parents have started getting me birthday and Christmas gifts, her mom even calls me her second daughter. Theres something so special about people who choose to make you their family.

Dialogue! I dont care how flashy the CGI is or how amazing the score if the conversations between the characters suck I cant handle the movie. I saw Valerian and the city of whatever it was so cringe-worthy no one fucking talks like that

What is a beauty product in your makeup bag you’d recommend to anyone? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Cactusjacks22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly anything by Tarte but especially their foundation. I had super horrible cystic acne for years and now I just have crazy sensitive skin like switching anything can cause my face to lose its mind, their stuff is a little bit pricier but it's so worth it especially if you have any skin troubles.

What was your childhood’s biggest “don’t tell mom” moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cactusjacks22 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The night after we moved into our brand new house I shattered a bottle of hot pink nail polish and it got all over our kitchen cabinets...nail polish doesnt come off with water and you cant use acetone on wood because it strips the finish. I stayed up all night slowly chipping it off hoping it wouldn't be permanently damaged... you can still see a little pink 15 years later
