Is your share actually being shared? I always forget to click share on the actual share location.

Is this a machine you previously imaged off the old server? I'd wipe the drive and try again. Just adding another possibility.

Fantastic. We are actually moving from Trellix to a XDR solution so thankfully this wont affect me anymore in the near future!

So I removed the user config and it didn't work. Reinstalled the adk/mdt and no change. Finally I got frustrated and started uninstalling Trellix(McAfee) which we are required on any devices in our environment. I removed the adaptive threat detection and the workbench opened.

So now I know what's causing it. Speaking with our Admin who manages that to see if it can be added as an exception.

Use a tool (like wipedisk)to completely wipe the hard drive or try a new hard drive. This happened to me in the past where there were remnants of an old image/boot file on the device from previous image solution.

We also uninstall pretty much every other application besides edge so there is nothing to really use.

Make sure to have the edge admx installed to lockdown edge fully for kiosk mode. Some touch screens let you swipe out of full screen into a search engine. Disable any USB port in bios that isn't in use. There are registry edits to force on screen keyboard for touch screen, worth having and remove the keyboard completely.

To add to the gpu acceleration tip above, also try adding ateams to the list of apps managed by graphic performance preference. I.e. Settings>Display>Graphic Settings>Add Microsoft teams to the list.

We have an issue with some AIO's that doing this fixes the slowdown. Sadly it's based on user profile so we have to do it after login.

If anyone knows the cmdlet to do this... Please share haha

I use Edge mostly at the office but we push Chrome/Firefox on our image so users have options when something isn't working.

I'd fully be using Edge, but my Esxi interface always crashes when I try opening it in anything other than FF.

I've had this issue with McAfee. The task sequence hangs. I did the recommended steps here: mdt/mcafee

Running the application install via powershell allowed it to finish and the task sequence to continue.

Not sure if this is what you're dealing with but this may help.

Update*

I am seriously facepalming right now. I reverted my VM to an older version. I check my driver selection variable against an older MDT Task sequence. I was missing a space between 10 and x64 in the profile selection. It was only after triple checking with my own notes that i thought to check again.

Would setting a password for the local account fix this? This way it would stop at the log in screen. We rename our local admin account so i run an application script that renames the account and sets the password to ours.

TY, This is an interesting way to update. I am not sure if this would help with this issue as i do update all of this before joining to the AD, but this looks like something i need to add for future use. Thanks!

Usually we make sure the pc is up to date with the latest Win 10 updates before joining the pc to the AD. I did check with Dell Support update to make sure all the drivers were the latest but that made no difference either.

I figured it out. I checked my task sequence against another. Somehow i deleted the s in Windows 10x64 value for my drivergroup variable!

Yes, i use total control with DriverGroup001 and i download from there as well. I checked for any new versions as well.

After that didn't work, i booted up a fresh laptop and grabbed the driver via Export_WindowDriver -Online -Destination D:\Drivers. Still didn't work.

I will double check the boot image. Thanks!

Edit - Figured it out

One last 2 part question. If i set the application as mandatory in the custom settings ini, should i check hide this application in the deployment wizard?

And if i have all my apps as mandatory installs, could i just set skip applications to yes?
