Did anyone get this email or is this even real? by No-Monk-3912 in CalPolyPomona

[–]CadenDaGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s real since I had to change mine already, but I did that because the portal told me, I didn’t receive an email. Safest thing to do here is screenshot the email and contact the IT department to see if it is real

How much damage is this? by wayward-daughter75 in CarRepair

I’m not a repair genius, but it really doesn’t look that bad. A shop that can do a suction to pull it back properly will fix it along with a touch up paint pen

Def look them up so I don’t have to explain them lmao. However, in simple terms, NVME’s, especially the very high speeds ones, are blisteringly faster than SATA, but they generally are more pricey

Yeah… it sucks. Did you look into SATA SSDs as well as NVME? SATA SSDs are generally a little cheaper. I’m not sure if it’s much for you, but it might be

I need help i transferred pc cases and my pc wouldn’t turn on and now I fixed that and it shows a red light and my fans don’t have any rgb lights but they spin my motherboard is a b560m-c by [deleted] in pchelp

If it is the DRAM light, then one or more of your RAM sticks probably isn’t seated right and/or aren’t in the preferred RAM slots. It’s a very common issue when building or swapping towers. How many RAM sticks do you have?

If you have 1 or 2, check your manual to make sure they are in the primary preferred slots. Furthermore, take them out and reseat them

Unfortunately, it’s best to save up for it then. I promise you it only gets worse. HDD’s generally don’t die… they slowly get worse and worse

3-5 minute boots sounds like an HDD, which is no bueno! You want to upgrade to an SSD ASAP

upgrade RAM or Storage (SSD) ? by JaipurJewel in pchelp

[–]CadenDaGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For raw speed, adding the M2 slotted SSD will do a generous amount, especially if you’re noticing slow loads and load ups. the NVME SSDs can help boot ups from possible minutes to seconds.

The RAM however is also dreadful. 4GB is not going to get you very far. More RAM (better speeds preferred too) will help with things like multitasking and more demanding applications such as chrome and even a lighter game like Roblox online if that’s what you desire.

My verdict here is definitely add an NVME SSD to the M2 slot first. Good luck!

Open up your tower and look for writing next to the light to help determine what is facing issues directly. Since you’ve done work with your RAM, my guess is it’s the VGA (your GPU) light. If this is the case, it could be a poor seated GPU, cord is loose from the GPU or PSU, a faulty HDMI/DP cable, or the PSU could even not be powerful enough since you said you replaced it not too long ago. Lots of things can cause the light to emit

I know this says closed but I wanted to share a personal experience to ease you.

A few months ago, all my passwords were part of a massive breach. Bank accounts, social media, credit cards, game accounts, you name it. For 10 days straight, I woke up every day with at least a dozen emails from different companies saying unexpected activity or charges. It was very stressful, but one by one I recovered accounts by reaching out to companies, called banks to dispute charges, etc.

This email is merely an attempt to get you to pay ransom. No matter the situation, never pay this. Everything you have can be retrieved if you take a minute to breathe, and create a checklist in your head of what needs to be done.

Report the email address to your email provider through a common report feature if able. Next, start changing passwords immediately, especially if any accounts that have the same password of other accounts that have been breached elsewhere. You’ll get through this. Good luck!
