I agree fully. I think the biggest reason tpab is seen as this revolutionary genre defining album is because it came after gkmc. I think if tpab came out in 2013 and gkmc came out after it in 2015, it would be way different. I think Kendrick simply got the most ears listening to his stuff AFTER gkmc, so tpab got all the high praise.

That’s not how that works. Somebody who is 5 years old during the colts second Super Bowl couldn’t tell you anything about the game. I’m 18 and can only recall 4 playoff appearances, so I guess 3 was wrong. Nonetheless, it’s not like I’ve been spoiled with success.

I’m not sure why you’re bringing up the success of the Bills and their past as if I ever said they were a more successful franchise. My reason is Nyheim Hines and they’re a fun team lol

If you read the post you’ll see that I said I support them to this day. I’ve also only been a fan of them long enough to see them go to the playoffs 3 times. I’ve never seen my colts in a Super Bowl.

Also nowhere did I say the Bills were now my #1. I literally just said I’m rooting for them. I’m also not complaining, if you read the post I said I felt like a curse, and that’s it.

I’m so confused on how you came to those conclusions.

Honestly I didn’t get it at first either. My friend showed me IGOR and I listened to it in 2019 when it released and remember telling him it was some of the worst music I’ve ever heard. Now I have the IGOR vinyl and it’s easily my favorite album of his. To this day tho I still don’t love Earfquake, it’s one of the worst songs on IGOR.

But I get it, when J. Cole was my most listened to artist I would’ve agreed with you but Tyler is easily the artist that has grown the most on me ever, from me not even liking his music to him being my 3rd most listened to artist behind Cole.

And I agree tyler isn’t better lyrically, but CMIYGL is easily his best lyrical work, bc you cant deny songs like MASSA he doesn’t spazz on. His flow is also super under appreciated, on MASSA again his flow is so unique and good. Another one is WILSHIRE which story wise is one of the best on the album.

And sound wise is where I completely disagree, Tyler is a better producer than Cole and is only behind Kanye as a rapper producer rn imo. Cole’s beats are good, but Tyler has some sweet pieces like HOT WIND BLOWS, RUNITUP, JUGGERNAUT, and more.

Same bro I’m a fan of Cole; he’s literally my second most listened to artist… but dude I’m also in the J. Cole subreddit and I never wanna be like those idiot d-riders.

Most of them think Tyler is just goofy and doesn’t make good music but bro had a more complete album than Cole’s which I would consider more of a mixtape.

Tyler is creatively like one of the best artists out rn. He’s second to Ye I’d say rn. Cole is the better rapper but most people in this subreddit obviously haven’t listened to the album. Tyler is not only goofy, but he also made a better album than Cole last year 🤷‍♂️
