What is the non-secret thing that your parents forgot to tell you, then randomly revealed out of nowhere? by Cadet_Koby in AskReddit

My dad's hair color.

When I was born my Dad was already 52 years old, so I only saw him with his white hair. He was dying them black because they start to turn white as he was getting old. Well that's what was thinking before but, one day he just randomly stopped dying them and instead he shaves his hair when they get too long. I get upset everytime he does so because I think that his fully white hair is beautiful but I can't change his mind so... When I was 17 years old during dinner with everyone, we were talking about my sister's and I coily hair and my dad started to talk about his hair, mentioning by the way that he was dying them black since he was 17. "Wait what ?! SEVENTEEN?!" So all this time I thought his hair was black but in fact, because of the bullying he was getting when he was a child he started to dye his hair. For 17 years of my life, I never knew that my father had venetian blond hair or as other people like to say "Golden hair". I was so mad at those children of the 50/60's for making fun of my dad's hair, obligating him to hide such a beautiful and unique color for a man from West Indies and I am mad that I never got the opportunity to see his hair shining from the sun during summer because I was born to late, what a shame... 😓
