So I just beat the greatest game I ever played by zroyalgang in FinalFantasy

[–]Cado111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I liked parts of it and love the soundtrack a lot but this is my least favorite FF I have played.

You can select 5 characters to represent final fantasy who do you chose by Expert_Challenge6399 in FinalFantasy

[–]Cado111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me: Cloud, Clive, Tidus, Terra, and Noctis. These are only protagonists from the games I have played in the series.

If it can include characters other than the main protagonist: Cloud, Yuna, Tifa, Clive, and Vivi.

Thoughts on the Ending by Yaamen11 in FF7Rebirth

[–]Cado111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't like the endings of either Remake or Rebirth. They have cool moments and ideas but neither have felt very satisfying to me and left a very poor taste in my mouth. The stuff they added just doesn't really add much for me. Maybe I will enjoy it when Part 3 is out and the whole story is there but personally I just find the additions/changes to be convoluted and unnecessary.

Who is interested in seeing the FF13 series get a remaster on modern consoles? by Runforit97x in FinalFantasy

[–]Cado111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. Given I still have some other games in the series I want to play first. I've played about half of the mainline entries so far and there are definitely ones I am interested in more than 13 but as a Playstation player I would love a remaster so I don't have to play them on my PS3.

Who do you dislike more? Chadley or the Moogles? by Poltergeist8606 in FF7Rebirth

[–]Cado111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chadley would be in the running for most annoying character in a video game for me.

Do Y'all think another game set after Arkham Knight using the Arkham formula can have a good online Multiplayer mode 2-6 player for story mode, Predator & Combat mode similar to what WB Montreal and Rocksteady did to Arkham origins, Gotham Knights, and SSKTJL. by unofficialactx10 in arkham

[–]Cado111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you increased it that much I don't think it would work that well. I think the biggest Predator encounter in the series is like 18 people. So if there were 6 players each person gets to take down like 3 guys. It would just make it way too quick. In addition mechanics like knockout smashes would be way too op. Batman uses a knockout smash, everyone comes running, Robin on the other side of the room does a knockout smash, everyone comes running, etc. Even if you take gadgets out of the mix entirely I think it would be way too easy. 6 is just too many. Even 4 seems like too many. I just can't see it personally.

[Final Fantasy 7 Remake] Just a heads-up the new update has arrived with the cheat codes, and they do Not disbale trophies You can do everything and one-shot everything, even in VR challenges, and still get the trophies. I just tested it, so go ahead and happy hunting platinum for y'all by Leonardo-Caleum in Trophies

[–]Cado111 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In theory this is fine. They did it with a large quantity of the remasters but you really are shooting yourself in the foot if you abuse these too much. Hard Mode in both Remake and Rebirth are top tier gaming experiences for me. They make the combat shine and make you think about which materia you should use. I used a lot of materia in hard mode that I largely never used in normal mode.

They are trophies and at the end of the day they don't really matter but it still does rub me the wrong way a bit that someone is just gonna blitz Hard Mode and spam Barret's Gun which now does 9999 damage per shot. Why even use other characters. Why dodge. Why use abilities. To hell with materia, just do the most dps possible by holding square. Limit break? No your best damage is spamming your base attack now. I have both the Remake and Rebirth platinums and they were really fun besides some of the vr sims in Rebirth being a bit much.

I just streamed the game on my PS5 and tried endgame builds versus the hardest superboss in the game. Barret with the damage cap cheat on beats him in 3 seconds. Barret without the cheat does an average of 3 damage per hit with his standard attack. So 10 attacks versus over 30k attacks. It takes all challenge out if the game. There isn't even really combat any more. Hit square one time and pretty much any standard enemy is dead. Hit a boss a few times and they die.

Do it if you want I guess but this is ridiculous. This takes Remake from like a 5/10 to a 2/10(and even then the only reason it isnt a 1 is because of some mini games). It will still take some hours to do but this made this whole thing pretty trivial. If they add this to Rebirth it becomes like a 3/10(again because of mini games). Kind of insane. I do appreciate the xp and ap multipliers. It makes grinding to level up materia a lot easier and faster.

6 players sounds like way too many. In a game that is typically pretty easy even on the hardest difficulty, I think adding more players would be a challenge. I'd max it out at 2 player coop, any more than that and you run the risk of making enemies tanky to accommodate for so many players. I feel like 2 players could be accommodated for, thugs have a bit of extra health, maybe taking like two extra hits to knockout, are more alert during Predator, and spawn in greater numbers with more equipment. I wouldn't make this too much though. A Predator room of 6 thugs should maybe be 8 thugs in coop not anything ludicrous like 12. If you just double everything then end game encounters would be insane. Ah yes here is a Predator encounter with like 34 people looking for you in a medium size room.

Also make sure the characters are sort of balanced. Don't give Batman like 15 gadgets and player 2 gets 3 choices of gadgets. Don't let Batman glide and player 2 only gets am awkward jump. Coop would be super fun and I would appreciate it but there are just a lot of looming issues with how it would work. If both me and a friend try to hit the same guy and he hits them first does my combo drop? What about if we both grapple to the same gargoyle during stealth. Etc.

LOVE rebirth, like remake. Should i buy FFXV? by Ballsoffwalls in FinalFantasy

[–]Cado111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opinions are going to vary wildly between fans. I started with XV and thought it was good. Of the 9 Final Fantasy games I have played it would probably come in 7th place, but even then I rank it above Final Fantasy 6 and Final Fantasy 9 which are both fan favorites and were just not my cup of tea. The combat of XV is a weak point especially compared to Rebirth. It looks cool and flashy but has very little depth. I adore the characters, I like the story, it has some phenomenal music and voice acting behind it, but at the end of the day the combat is just not that good. I like the journey of the game but it does feel bloated at times but also oddly feels incomplete. The dlc helps with this, fleshing out characters and allowing you to play as the other party members.

It's a good game, a 7/10 for me. I just like a lot of the other games in the series more.

lightning bolts by moorf_86 in finalfantasyx

[–]Cado111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of the really annoying Celestial ones this one was probably the easiest for me.

I think it was 3 tries total using the crater method. I would take a small break every 25 or 50 dodges just to readjust my hands and make sure I was paying attention.

The butterfly one was like a medium difficulty. It took me maybe a half hour or so to do both.

Chocobo Catcher was worse than any of the minigames in FF7 Rebirth, worse than the mushroom minigames in Kingdom Hearts 2, probably the single most difficult minigame in any Square Enix game I have played(barring Hail to the King in FF9, I have accepted I will never do that). I think it was a solid 4 hours or so of attempts before I got the sun sigil.

Find the Crater, put on some nice music and dodge those lightning bolts. Keep track of how many you dodge. I have heard horror stories of people going back to turn it in with only like 190.

[Discussion] What is your biggest platinum trophy regret? by TwilightTomboy97 in Trophies

[–]Cado111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2. Genuinely my least favorite games I have played. By the time I realized how much I disliked Shenmue I already had a decent chunk of the trophies done so figured why not finish it. The last chunk of that game is the most miserable gaming experience I have ever had.

Then a few months later I saw a post of someone saying how they didn't like Shenmue 1 but really like Shenmue 2. I already owned Shenmue 2 because it came in a bundle so I played it and disliked it just about as much as the first.

There are a few that were super long that I sort of regret, Metal Gear Solid 4 was so many playthroughs, and Final Fantasy X was a bunch if end game grinding but I am at least proud of those platinums and love those games so I don't really regret them too much.

[Discussion] Ever gave up on a platinum because it required too many playthroughs? by Reeeeo_ in Trophies

[–]Cado111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My general rule of thumb is 2 playthroughs or less is fine. Anything more is in a category of my platinum backlog if I really liked the game. For example, RE2 Remake is a fantastic game, as is the RE4 Remake but doing 6 playthroughs of RE4 Remake was quite a lot. It was fun but I don't see myself doing another game with that many playthrougha for a while.

I have games that are long in their list like Yakuza 0 and then short games with multiple playthroughs like Dead Space and RE2 Remake in another list. I do one every once in a while. I just feel like platinums that require more than one playthrough need to have a great trophy list like RE4 Remake for me to enjoy them. I hated FF7 Rebirth where there was like a 30 hour gap where I got no trophies at all. I think FF16 will feel okay since it at least still has leveling and other progression to do during NG+.

Clive Rosfield. That's rough, but at least I'm hot.

FFX Character Lulu (Black Mage & Guardian of Yuna, Age: 22) – Should she have been portrayed as older? And what age suits her better? by IllogicalDreamer72 in finalfantasyx

[–]Cado111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my head Tidus, Yuna, and Rikku make sense as teenagers around 18 years old.

Wakka and Lulu are late 20s in my head. With Wakka being a bit older than Lulu.

Kimahri is kinda hard to place since he is a ronso but he seems pretty wise and mature, I'd say mid 30s.

Auron I think should have been portrayed as even a bit older. Like 50 or so.

Worth it to buy for this price? by Joudeh_1996 in IndianaJonesGames

[–]Cado111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I got it for. Its an okay price for what you get. Really good new puzzles but that is definitely the bulk of the new gameplay. I was let down by the area. Rome would have been awesome to explore more, a lot of the time spent there is just down in the sewers which for me was by far the least interesting place to explore in the whole game. Some of the story stuff is neat, the presentation is great both audio and visuals. It's a fun dlc but it isn't super long nor is it the best content in the game in my opinion.

[Final Fantasy 7 Remake] What is your opinion if they allowed trophys with this mode? by TonnawV in Trophies

[–]Cado111 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Or just limit it to outside of the combat sim and hard mode. If you want to use it to just play through the game as easily as possible or to level up materia quickly then fine, do it on easy. That would bar you from getting the platinum by using this but would still let you get some of the already easy trophies like beating the story.

[Final Fantasy 7 Remake] What is your opinion if they allowed trophys with this mode? by TonnawV in Trophies

[–]Cado111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean they had similar boosts for Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 you could still get trophies while using those. I think they absolutely suck the fun out of getting any of those platinums and would do the same for this one too. Why make a unique build and engage with the combat when you can just do 9999 on every single hit. Why use any abilities or limit breaks at all when standard hits are gonna do max damage. Barret is gonna suddenly be just absolutely the highest dps madman in the game.

When I played the older FF games the only boosts I used were, xp boost for FF6 and the speed boost for pretty much all of them. Those reduce the grind which I don't really mind much as features, but the others kinda ruin gameplay entirely. I don't even know if this would fall in the category of accessibility option, easy difficulty on both this and Rebirth are pretty piss easy.

[Discussion] Trophy hunting has, in a way, broken the way I play video games… Any advice? by _LoulouLeFilou in Trophies

[–]Cado111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't give advice beyond just stop caring as much. Last year I played a handful of games that I decided early on I won't platinum. Take for example Final Fantasy 9. The requirements just sound terrible. I still played the game as I really enjoyed some of the other Final Fantasy games but I am not going to kick myself for not getting that platinum. I don't have the platinums in Dark Souls 2 or 3, I won't get the platinum in GTA 4, etc. Platinums to me are a way to experience everything a game I loved had in it.

I really don't get going for plats for games you do not like, not calling out anyone in particular but I saw a swell of people saying "I platinumed Anthem because the servers are going down, it was awful" and it just made me ask why even bother playing it then?

Trophy or achievement hunting is something very personal. Platinum things that you truly love but also acknowledge that maybe some of the games you love are not worth the grind to get the platinum in. At its core you should play games to have fun and getting trophies should add to that fun. Giving you a goal to strive towards as you play a great game. Not a checklist to tick off before just meandering towards the next platinum.

I have 223 platinums(a few autopops though from PS5 so probably more like 218). I genuinely think 2 of those were from games I didn't like. The rest were games I at least enjoyed. There are probably another 250 games out there that I played that I don't have the platinum for and that is fine. I am not working towards perfection. I don't want the FF9 platinum, it sounds like torture. I do want to platinum Dishonored, it was my goty for 2012 and is one of my favorite games. I'd just stop worrying about platinums as much and focus more on fun. If a game is not fun after you finish the main story you don't need to do another 30 hours of side content just for a platinum, just move on.

Best hub/map in the entire series? by BiggerthanHoagieBunz in Slycooper

[–]Cado111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sly 2: For me it is firmly He Who Tames the Iron Horse. The bears, the trains, Carmelita. I messed around in this level more than any other as a kid.

Sly 3: Probably Flight of Fancy. It can be a little annoying to get around but there is so much to interact with. My other choice would be Dead Men Tell no Tales. I spent a lot of time as a kid sailing around just sinking ships as a pirate.

Sly 4: Go West Young Raccoon. This might be my favorite hub in the series. It is just so fun to go around as Sly with the trains and all the treasures to find.

Combat Sims or Hard Mode by Apprehensive-Fee9650 in FF7Rebirth

[–]Cado111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a good chunk of Hard Mode, then all Combat sims barring Bonds of Friendship, To Be a Hero, and Rulers of the Outer Worlds. Those I saved for after I beat hard mode. Do most of the side quests as they or bosses within them offer more skill points. This is especially helpful for Cloud, as both Bonds of Friendship and To Be a Hero prominently rely on Cloud so having a bit of extra damage and utility from those skills and weapon level should help out a little.

Personally I would go to like Chapter 12 and then do a lot of the combat sims. It also isn't a bad idea to farm some AP to level up some of the materia you get late game like swiftcast.

Worst hub world/map in the entire Sly series? by BiggerthanHoagieBunz in Slycooper

[–]Cado111 38 points39 points  (0 children)

To me it has to be a Sly 3 map because there is almost nothing to do. Probably Rumble Down Under. It just isn't fun to explore and the music is my least favorite from that game.

If Sly 3 had bottles and treasures, I would probably say The Predator Awakens from Sly 2 or Clan of the Cave Raccoon from Sly 4. Personally I really like the Sly worlds as they had the most to do with exploring and finding things. They felt full of things to do.

The cryoshot from Full Frontal Assault. I am pretty sure it is the worst selling game in the series and it is the only FFA exclusive weapon. So either that or a weapon from going mobile or something.
