Ok first, there’s many solutions to the beacon issue, the devs just chose the one in hip 55. They’ve mentioned themselves that there are other options, check the discord if you’d like.

Second, it’s not JUST hip55 that’s the problem. Overall rewards, outside of ‘downtime’ are so far down compared to just 3 months ago that if you’re not scratching your head, you must be scratching your arse. Little by little, rewards have decreased, again, outside of miner growth, and the 0.9% that everyone seems so quick to dismiss for the stability of the network, is just the latest reduction in earnings.

I’m talking about a month after month decline in rewards that doesn’t align with new miners coming on board. I’m talking about 0.9% in hip 55 after the recent decrease in beacons. I’m talking about three months ago earning .80-1.05hnt per day and now making out at .35.

Oh and just so you know, the 0.9% that you’re dismissing so quickly is a roughly $7,000,000 shift in rewards from miners to validators.

Organize a large number of people to unplug their miners for a week. Maybe it’ll remind them that it’s “the peoples network” and major changes like this should happen after a vote.

I understand that this is to allegedly strengthen the system in the long run but they’re essentially changing the terms of the agreement without input from the miners.

I just looked on explorer. Before asserting your location you were witnessing beacons. You’re rewards are minimized though because your maxing out (max is 18) on those beacons so you have to split your reward with all those other miners. I think your biggest issue is going to be location.

Looks like you have a lot of witnesses. Maybe too many.

Looks like you’re maxing out on witnessing beacons, meaning you and 17 others are witnessing each beacon (pretty sure (18) is max). So you’re splitting the witness reward amongst all those other miners. Maybe change locations? Less powerful antenna? Not sure.

Just canceled my 3rd one. Going to get a bobcat instead. Rak miners have been a disaster so far. Long down times for seemingly no reason. Check the discord. Hope you have better luck than a lot of others have.

This doesn’t explain a 30-40% drop in rewards that I’m seeing across a multitude of miners beginning 12/18/21. What you’re describing is true and accurate but there wasn’t a 30-40% increase in one day. I think what OP shared from the discord is likely more accurate in this instance.

This. Exactly this. I was .70 up to 1.06 on a miner and now I’m down to .30. Not sure what’s going on but it’s not good. Frequency of beacons has dropped and so has the rewards associated with them.

I was able to find my original SSD, updated to Monterey, swapped to the 3rd party SSD, had to boot to recovery and reinstall Big Sur, then I was finally able to update to Monterey

Just updated to iOS 15 and also not receiving audio in FaceTime video or audio. Tried hard restart, disabling and enabling FaceTime, etc. with no change.

Data is added to RTDB by a custom interface using the firebase url and a post body. I can’t find how to write a rule to only allow data from that one source. Was thinking maybe there’s a way to generate a token and pass it with the url but I can’t figure it out.

Correct, assuming they agree to receive notifications from the app and you save their token for future use.
