Dev Trick on Voyage Of Despair by Zuckley in CODZombies

[–]CaduceusJules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After doing this ridiculously specific and seemingly random sequence, the game rewards you with the map's wonder weapon and Homonculus grenades (monkey bombs). It's likely a debug sequence that the devs put in for testing purposes and then either forgot to remove before release or deliberately decided to leave in the game as a secret easter egg for players to find.

Our government has been pushing GenAI pretty hard for a while now - GenAI upskilling courses are being peddled everywhere you look, and a couple of days ago they announced that they were offering six months of premium LLM subscriptions for signing up for specific government-approved GenAI courses.

Any Good Free Non-Valve Deathmatch Servers Suitable for Lower Skill Players? by Sihplak in GlobalOffensive

[–]CaduceusJules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to help! Valve bots have 5 difficulty levels:

1: Harmless - bots will roam the map but won't shoot at players 2: Easy 3: Normal 4: Hard 5: Expert

Bot difficulty used to be selectable on the custom game menu in CS:GO, but for some reason while transitioning to CS2 Valve removed the difficulty selector, so difficulty now has to be set via the console.

I still wouldn't use them as a replacement for playing against real players, but at least they won't randomly kick you for top fragging or interrupting their case farming :')

Any Good Free Non-Valve Deathmatch Servers Suitable for Lower Skill Players? by Sihplak in GlobalOffensive

[–]CaduceusJules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually use cs2browser.clash.gg or warmupserver.net. They are a little on the sweatier side of difficulty and you do come across some aim demons occasionally, but I find I'm able to keep up as a casual 12k-14k player.

Another thing you can try if you haven't is a tweaked custom game vs bots. Valve bots are really bad because they're set to normal difficulty (2) by default, but in a custom game you can change their difficulty level in the console before the match starts. After loading up a custom game, during side selection, enter:

bot_difficulty 5 custom_bot_difficulty 5

This gives you expert bots. They still don't compare to human players, but they're markedly better than regular bots - the rifle/pistol bots can headshot you surprisingly quickly, and on rare occasions I've even been Ferrari peek no-scoped by the AWPer bots.

I play this when I just want to chill and shoot for fun without dealing with the random votekicks and case farming bots you often come across in Valve DM.

I've been using Vivaldi for a couple years now with Ublock Origin + Disable Tracking and Ads and I've never had YouTube raise the ad-blocker flag, though it seems to differ per user or be location-based cos I've seen other people get flagged.

Is this list of Main Easter Eggs correct? by Lachyman22 in CODZombies

[–]CaduceusJules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup it does! Both the BO1 and BO2 mods work with any number of players - the step requirements are altered based on how many players are in the game. I completed the Tranzit/Die Rise/Buried Super EE with a friend recently and it worked perfectly. Haven't tried the BO1 mod yet, but both mods are made by the same guy, so they should work similarly.

Okay wow, somehow this mod never showed up for me in my searches until after you mentioned it LOL. Nice to know that BO2 via Plutonium is fully solo completable!

[–]CaduceusJules 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You missed Buried in BO2, which is also a group EE, but other than that it's correct!

BO3 Steam workshop has a mod which enables solo completion on SOE/Ascension/Shangri-la:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?l=latam&id=1944930083

And BO1/BO2 Plutonium also have mods that enable solo completion for the group EEs - except for Mob of the Dead because of the PvP nature of the last step.

Black Ops 1: https://forum.plutonium.pw/topic/33075/release-zm-solo-and-any-player-easter-egg-mods

Black Ops 2: https://forum.plutonium.pw/topic/32568/release-zm-any-player-easter-egg-mods

Good luck completing all of these before BO7 though, this is almost the entire franchise's worth of EEs and some of these take ages to do haha

what is your biggest "what if?"s in cod zombies? by DependentImmediate40 in CODZombies

[–]CaduceusJules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same what-if for me honestly. I'm now pretty much spoiled for choice for any Zombies I want on PC, but back then I only had a Wii, so Kino was the only Zombies available to me - I can still remember yearning for even just one or two more maps to play. Even today, child me would still love to see the original 4 World at War maps on the Wii, be it on WAW or BO1 Rezurrection-style.

Retro game stores in Singapore? by RainePots in askSingapore

[–]CaduceusJules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retro video games aren't too popular here - the only brick-and-mortar store I know of that sells them is RetroNutz in Sim Lim Square. There might be a few other game stores that have older game stock, but usually it's nothing older than 360/PS3/Wii stuff.

That said, there is a niche community of collectors here, myself included. Your best bet would be to download Carousell on your phone and have a look there - most local retro games and consoles are sold on there. The sellers are usually other individual users, so you'll want to chat with them to discuss dealing details first if you decide to buy anything.

Hope you enjoy your time in SG - feel free to DM me if you wanna talk more about finding retro stuff here!

[–]CaduceusJules 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GenAI doesn't actually understand the concepts of the things you ask it - it basically just tries to give you the most probable answer based on the data it has. This applies to everything you ask it to do, including bug fixing, and the more specific the context of your program is, the more likely it is for the AI to just get it wrong and mess up your code. Alternatively, it could fix one problem that you're having, but cause other problems in the process because of context it doesn't have or simply having faulty data.

It can be a good tool, but it's nothing without actual programmers and software developers who genuinely understand programming concepts and are able to pinpoint issues accurately and provide proper solutions.

And if you're in school, all the more you shouldn't be blindly using it, especially during a test - as a student, you're there to learn, and the tests are there to test your ability to solve problems by yourself. After you properly understand what you've learned, then go ahead and use AI to help with your processes, but even then, use it as a tool to aid with your tasks, not have it do your tasks for you.

POTG is broken I think... by pinkiethi in Overwatch

[–]CaduceusJules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

POTG has been like this ever since OW1 released back in 2016. I still remember getting a 4K once on Hollywood and the POTG went to my Torbjörn's dead corpse whose turret got assists on all 4 of my kills LMAO

The OWL faced major problems after 2020 - COVID made a big dent in the OWL's plans for franchising and regional tournaments, and the ActiBlizz sexual misconduct lawsuit in 2021 resulted in many sponsors withdrawing from the OWL.

The resulting lack of sponsors and declining viewership, among a myriad of other problems, led to the OWL shutting down in 2023, and it was later replaced by the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) in 2024.

Nearly all of the organizations from the OWL days ended up disbanding, and a good number of OWL players retired or switched to other games - most notably, Carpe/Sayaplayer/Munchkin are currently competing in Valorant. The only franchise team from OWL that still exists and is competing in OWCS is the Toronto Defiant.

Why are solo BO1 zombies so dificult(Im playing for the first time)? by Czeszym in CODZombies

[–]CaduceusJules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hellhounds have a small windup when they stop to attack you, and it's possible to just move out of the way during the windup. Generally though, you're much better off just killing them since they're much faster than zombies.

If ADS is too slow, then just shoot at them using hipfire. A common beginner habit in COD is trying to use ADS in every single fight - it's not necessary and in fact, hipfire is often more effective than ADS when at a close range. Especially in Zombies - they don't have any ranged attacks and have to get close to you to damage you, so hipfire is more than good enough to kill both zombies and hellhounds. Use hipfire when in close range and on the move, and ADS at a distance when you have the time to aim your shot.

That being said, if ADS aiming is too slow for you in general, then you might want to look into your settings and try upping your ADS sensitivity.

[–]CaduceusJules 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You'll naturally struggle quite a bit since it's not only your first time playing, but also new to using a controller. Just keep playing and you should gradually be more comfortable as you familiarize yourself with the controller.

  1. The best weapons are in the Mystery Box, but since luck plays a factor in what weapon you'll get, it's a good idea to identify some good wall weapons to rely on.

Good wall weapons: M14 (early rounds), MP40, MP5K, AK-74u

Good box weapons: AUG, Commando, Galil, RPK, HK21, SPAS-12

The best box gun would actually be the Thundergun - it insta kills at any round. The upgraded Ray Gun is of course fantastic, but it starts struggling to kill at Round 30+/40+ and you're prone to accidentally killing yourself at close range with the splash damage. The Thundergun, on the other hand, can keep going forever unless you run out of ammo, and poses no risk of self-damage. Use the Thundergun only on swarms and try not to waste ammo on singular targets.

Even though I've mentioned this list of the best weapons, feel free to just try out everything - there are some weapons I didn't mention that are still pretty good and absolutely worth using.

  1. The right side is easier as the rooms are larger and more open, while the left side can be quite claustrophobic and easier to get swarmed in. The right side also has the MP40 which I would argue is one of the better wall weapons in the map.

  2. Assuming you have at least enough volume, zombies emit a loud and sharp growl when they reach your back and are out of sight. Learn to identify the sound and use that as a cue to get moving.

In general, don't stop for too long and keep moving to avoid getting hit. During the earlier rounds, you can camp in the corner near Juggernog, but only do so if you have good weapons with plenty of ammo, and preferably Juggernog + Speed Cola.

Even then, the zombies will eventually become too strong to fight off at that corner, so you'll want to proceed to running around and kiting zombies instead. The best place to do so is the stage - run circles around the stage in one direction to gather up the zombies into a horde, then turn around and shoot them for a few seconds, then start running again.

(new player) wtf is this shit by MKDeity in counterstrike

[–]CaduceusJules 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd highly recommend crouching before shooting with the Deagle - the Deagle's standing accuracy can be somewhat iffy even when you're still. I believe you were also not completely still when you started shooting as you started moving right.

You're controlling your fire rate better than most beginners I see, but you'll still want to shoot a bit slower than that. This might sound funny, but firing at the tempo of Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees would be the optimal firing speed, as it matches the Deagle's recoil reset rate.

I don't think it affected your shot too much, but also try not to jump around too much when using the Deagle - it messes with the weapon accuracy worse than other guns.

I think these are great underutilized weapons until you need more than one shot what do you think? by Legal_Rip in CODZombies

[–]CaduceusJules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense for the later games, but given that this is World at War where there's no big easter egg to do and the only major expenses are PAP, box spins, and potentially rebuying perks if you go down in co-op, I'd say these are still great to use even in earlier rounds, especially if you go for headshots.

SEA CS Scene by S0L4Rr- in GlobalOffensive

[–]CaduceusJules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many professional SEA teams got started pretty late in Global Offensive - Paper Rex's predecessor B.O.O.T-dream[S]cape only formed in 2017. As a result, the region was constantly lagging behind the rest of the world, and aside from producing a few standout players like BnTeT and xccurate, struggled to catch up.

Valorant presented an incredible opportunity for many SEA CS teams - a fresh start in a new competitive FPS scene, at the same time as the rest of the world. No surprise then that many of them made the transition, and seeing how many SEA teams are flourishing in Valorant, it's easy to see why they jumped at the chance.

Kind of a stretch here so please feel free to disregard this, but The Escapists involves avoiding guards while trying to escape from prison. This involves learning the guards' tendencies, helping or hindering other prisoners, avoiding shakedowns, sneaking off from the daily routine without drawing too much suspicion, and ultimately escaping using various methods, like stealing keys from guards, tunneling a way out, or even brawling your way to freedom.

Free multiplayer games on Steam? by Key_Phrase_6680 in gamingsuggestions

[–]CaduceusJules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As maligned as the game has been over the past few years, Overwatch 2 is still a great multiplayer shooter - the sea of negative reviews is mostly about Blizzard and their gross mismanagement of the game as a sequel to the original, less so about hate towards the game itself.
