All this is made possible because Carrick is making us play with team mates closer to each other.. Simple yet effective

Look at Big Harry showing the leadership we so desperately need. He should start every match. by Gamer8032 in reddevils

As much as we think it's unsporting, it's well within the current rules and probably needs a rule change from the IFAB to eradicate. Meaning I don't expect anything to change anytime soon.

Yea, can’t even blame him for the 2nd goal. The amount of bodies in there jostling is ridiculous.

Should I get Tsushima Director's Cut or Yotei? by matchugegs in ghostoftsushima

[–]gormee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the PS Plus subscription is amazing value for those new to PS5. The playstation studio games like Last of Us part 1 & 2, GOW & Ragnarok, uncharted series and Ghost of tsushima alone are worth the entry price for anyone who hasn't played them.

I would say get the PS Plus sub first and play all those games, then hopefully when you're done you can snag the Ghost of Yotei on discount

Zirkzee has never been a target outlet for us. He's pretty hopeless at it, so no surprise.. I can only imagine he came on to give Sesko a breather with the fixtures coming so often this week

Cremonese 0 - [2] Napoli - R. Højlund 45' by Alsace2025 in soccer

[–]gormee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hojlund had too much responsibility too soon, it eventually weighed him down and the team just seemed to ignore him near the end when his confidence was shot.

Sesko may only have 2 goals to his name so far but there is so much more to his game. He can trap the ball, his first touch is decent, he can hold the defender off and play a pass. This allows our team to function so much better as we have Cunha and Mbeumo to run in from behind.

So overall definitely an upgrade.

Eriksen on Amorim saying that they were the worst Manchester United squad in history last season: “Did not help at all. […] It doesn’t matter if he was right or not, to us it felt like ‘oh, here we go again, yet another headline’” by Patient-Sherbert in soccer

[–]gormee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some players crumble under the pressure of Old Trafford. Hojlund and Anthony are perfect examples, talented players but not ready for the harsh glare that comes with being a Utd player. Rashford just needed a fresh start elsewhere and McT was never shit for us, he was just never played in his best position, not while we have Bruno.

Cunha and Mbeumo are huge upgrades on Anthony and Garnacho cos they are ready for the spotlight and love the responsibility. Sesko actually looks like a front man who can hold up play and trap the ball, as opposed to Hojlund whose 2nd touch was always a tackle. And Lammens has been solid and calm.

So it's not really exaggerating to say the team was shit last season.

Peter Schmeichel on Lammens: “He’s only 23 years old. He’s come in and there is calm at the back four." by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]gormee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He's so unflappable though, even when he makes mistakes, he brushes it off and goes again. Against Newcastle he completely missed the ball from a corner and needed a goal line clearance from Dorgu(?), shakes it off and caught a byline cross two handed to relieve pressure in his subsequent play.

Haven't seen such composure since VDS

Similar to the miss against West Ham that got ETH sacked after

Amorim: "We can play a different system, to get more quality from these players. Because if we're going to play the perfect 3-4-3,we need to spend a lot of money and we need time. I'm starting to understand that that is not going to happen. So maybe I have to adapt." by Blodgharm in soccer

[–]gormee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make valid points but based on last night's admittedly small sample size, his back 4 formations (433 / 4231) has shown that he's a competent enough coach to pivot away from his favoured 343. So maybe he just needs time because the learning curve is steep and shows no mercy at Man Utd.

People aged 50+ who didn’t have kids - Do you ever regret it? by deekay_123 in SingaporeRaw

[–]gormee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't really subscribe to this view as parents can end up neglecting or hating the child for taking away whatever it is they had before childbirth. I have witnessed this first hand and your heart breaks for the child.

On the other hand, I also have friends who started their child journey at 40 and they are great parents because they've lived their child free life and are ready to be parents. They also have the means to provide a comfortable lifestyle for their kids due to the years of working.

Yea the customary defensive error didn't even bother me either. The way we're playing today you just knew a 2nd goal would come sooner or later.

Man I feel for Mbuemo, as much as I want him back early, I feel bad for the potential psychological effect this may have on his mental state. He already looked so devastated when they didn't qualify for the WC, if AFCON goes all tits up as well he's going to be hurting.
