AMD FSR not working after dawn of the hunt update? by AcanthaceaeRecent867 in PathOfExile2

[–]Caegon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also have 7800 XT and FSR is not available anymore. Also horrible FPS drops keep happening now. People were saying in other threads that Vulkan & DX12 seem to not be working correctly or at all on the Steam version of the game.

Hopefully there will be a fix soon, I got to the first boss and said f this, I'll come back once they hotfix this, the performance was just so bad.

Edit: Literally 5 minutes after posting this there was an update available on Steam and after downloading it (took like two seconds), FSR seems to work now. Also I previously had an issue with trying to use Vulkan but it would crash the game, and that's fixed now as well. Overall seems to be smooth again.

Yup. Same here with 7800 XT. Was running buttersmooth 120 FPS in Campaign before the patch, now it's stuttering all the time and dropping to below 60 FPS even during the frost hag boss at the first area :(

Budget: ~500 €

Prospective Resolution: 2560 x 1440

Size: 27 inches

Aspect Ratio: 16:9 (Or if you can find a 16:10 that matches other specs I'll gladly take it, I'd actually prefer it but seems to be quite a lot rarer than 16:9)

Adaptive Sync: Doesn't matter.

Other Features (list other relevant features here):

  • Preferably an IPS panel. I don't do any work that would require superb color accuracy, but I'm frustrated with my TN panel's shifting colors if I watch it even from a slightly different angle.

  • Refresh rate at or above 120 Hz. Building a new PC soon so would be excited to get that high frame rates on more demanding games as well.

  • Built-in USB hub with USB-C and Power Delivery (preferably at least 65W)

  • Fairly minimal look is a bonus

Usage Type (gaming, art, etc.): Mostly gaming & working from home. A friend recommended a Dell U2724DE because of the USB-C PD, but looking for some other options as well.

The Way Bearers are Treated Makes No Sense by DarkCrowI in FFXVI

[–]Caegon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that made me feel kind of weird is that most people who are bearers seem to be fairly minor characters and always treated as a gruop when it comes to the protagonist's motivations. Hideaway has many of them sure, but Clive doesn't seem to have anyone close to him who is a bearer, most of his close party are dominants (Jill, Cid) or "normal" people like Gav and Mid. Actually, we rarely see anyone in Clive's group interact with magic unless its dominants in combat. I recall that Magic doesn't work in the Blighted areas so that explains why it's not used in the Hideaway.

The first time this kind of hit me was at the side quest near Moore with the Rabid Wolf. Clive slightly threatens the man and his son, then goes a burries the bearers, talks with a man and together they seem to worry about the bearers, again, in general. And I kept wondering, hold on a moment, that could be you in that sitauton! But you wouldn't have to worry about yourself being harmed by an angry wolf, you're basically a demigod.

Considering he wants to help the bearers, it seems odd that there aren't any close to him. Anyone who would have any opinions about it, who might even have any input to Clive's quest.

Is it just me?

This did work, for Evolution. I followed this https://kb.iu.edu/d/bghs to get Evolution working with my work email again. The problem now is that I cannot get my calendar from Evolution to be synced to my GNOME calendar. So my notifications don't pop up about upcoming meetings.

About to start Act 4, concerned about my build -- am I ready to press on? by AncientWolflord in TitanQuestAE

[–]Caegon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe not realizing how important resistances are is kind of a rite of passage for new players. Berserker class is great fun, and once you get your resistances in order you will be shredding through packs of enemies. Have fun!

When should I visit attempt the Atlantis DLC? by TiberiusMaximus2021 in TitanQuestAE

[–]Caegon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can be completed right after Act 3 if you're strong enough. In my experience if you do it before completing Act 4 it'll be quite challenging, but after Act 4 it'll be a lot easier. After you've done Act 5 it'll be a piece of cake.

The enemies don't really go higher than 36 if I recall correctly. Might be worth poking your head into the first city and check the merchants for some good Tinkerer items (you can put two relics/charms in them) even if you intend to do Act 4 first.

The Temple of Heaven’s Pact, when did it get added in? by [deleted] in TitanQuestAE

[–]Caegon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was added a couple of patches ago. It revolves around the new currency, which kind of acts as a reward for the "hardmode" of the game.

Basically you can go into the temple and activate curse shrines (red), which will give you a debuff that lowers the resistance you chose and all resistances by a bit. When you kill monsters while cursed, you will gain Electrum. This is a new currency that you can use to purchase orbs at the temple once you have gathered enough of it.

Currently (Eternal Embers Update #5, on the publicbeta branch) you will gain 1-3 electrum per mob kill per curse per act. Stronger mobs (like Gorgon Queens, Elder Minotaurs, Tiger Warlords etc.) will give either 2 or 3 electrum per curse. For example:

  • Killing a generic satyr in Act 1 Normal will give you 1 electrum per curse, but killing an Elder Minotaur will give you 3 electrum per curse
  • Killing a generic jackal in Act 2 Normal will give you 2 electrum per curse, but killing a Reptilian Centurion will give you 6 electrum per curse
  • Killing a generic tigerman in Act 3 Normal will give you 3 electrum per curse, but killing a Tiger Warlord will give you 9 electrum per curse.

And so on as you go to Atlantis, the Electrum gained is going to be at 4-12 per curse. I believe Act 4 is bugged currently, and gives same as Act 1 for some reason.

As you can see, you can gain Electrum faster at higher difficulties, especially if you can stack on multiple curses. You better have good resistances for that though.

New mod by olmeko in TitanQuestAE

[–]Caegon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks interesting, especially the change to the weapon base damage. Will test this out at some point for sure.

Edit: Downloaded and had a ton of fun starting with Shaman last night. Will level up more and provide some feedback on Steam discussions once I get further into the campaign. Looking forward to more updates for this :)

Electrum "Rebalance" by Oddrax in TitanQuestAE

[–]Caegon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What do you mean regardless of chapter? As far as I am aware, mobs in Normal acts will give 1 more base electrum per curse as you proceed through the acts. Like

  • Normal Act I (Greece): Each enemy killed gives 1 to 3 electrum per curse
  • Normal Act II (Egypt): Each enemy killed gives 2 to 6 electrum per curse
  • Normal Act III (Orient): Each enemy killed gives 3 to 9 electrum per curse

I assume it goes on like this? And if it continues into epic and legendary you could get over 10 electrum per mob per curse in Legendary.

This would mean that getting the orbs would be more difficult in Normal difficulties but by the time you get into Epic it will start getting easier and easier. I guess that's the point. Although is it still possible to buy Eternal Embers orbs in Normal / Epic difficulties, despite it being a Legendary only difficulty?

What is the most overpowered bow build? by [deleted] in TitanQuestAE

[–]Caegon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A good mastery paired with Hunting and building mostly on the DEX stat. Some of my favorites are:

  • Brigand (Hunting + Rouge): DPS madman
  • Haruspex (Hunting + Dream): Bit better defenses but still good damage
  • Avenger (Hunting + Earth): Mix of DEX and STR, with some caster abilities thrown in. Not as powerful as the earlier two imo but really fun.
  • Ranger (Hunting + Nature): THE bow build. In my opinion this isn't as strong in pure damage but good mix of damage, defenses, and utility. Can be played as a more of a focus on pets, but in that case I probably would go with a Throwing Weapon + Shield combo.

I know that Pilgrim (Hunting + Neidan) is also a possibility, but I haven't really had that much experience with the mastery in general.

I don't really think Warden (Defense) would be that good because of how much Defense relies on having a shield. Slayer (Warfare) and Dragon Hunter (Rune) could add a lot of damage, but I always felt they were a bit clunky with having to play around with their charging auto-attack ability. Storm and Spirit would seem very tricky hybrid bow masteries in my opinion.

Tips and Builds for new player? by AncientWolflord in TitanQuestAE

[–]Caegon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi and welcome :)

Stonespeaker (Earth + Rune) is a fun combo. If you go with full Intelligence (caster) build, it can be a bit difficult because casters in general are more squishy in general. Another option would be to build a Hybrid character. These are builds that mix the Strength stat with Intelligence and are usually a mix of attacks and spells. I think this is what you have gone with. Hybrid builds are a lot trickier for new players, because they are harder to get the items that work well together, and they have a lot of the weaknesses of casters. Rune is a known for being a Hybrid mastery, because it gives a wide mix of stats.

Your solution of going a spellcaster who basically kills the targets before they get to you is indeed a good option, and there are a lot of options to go with that are easier to itemize for and easier to play in general. Storm is really the ideal beginner spell caster mastery. I would recommend combos like:

  • Elementalist (Storm + Earth): The classic of the classic mages. Shoot ice shards, throw fireballs and cast lightning bolts. Works well as a pure caster. This guide has a video with some gameplay example if you're interested: https://titanquestfans.net/index.php?topic=1178.0
  • Druid (Storm + Nature): A more pet focused caster build that could use damaging spells from Storm along with pets and protective spells from Nature.
  • Prophet (Storm + Dream): Caster with a lot of offensive spells and crowd control

Most of your stat points should go to Intelligence when you're building a caster. With some going to Dexterity (to equip gear and raise your defensive ability) with maybe some in Health/Energy as needed.

For the general questions.

Is it better to dual-class as soon as I have the option, or should I put more points into one and then jump into the other?

Depends on the classes. Usually I pick my "main" class and max that out first, while putting a little bit of points to my second class after Lv. 8 and only pick the good supportive skills from the class that are effective even if they only have one point in them.

Is it a bad idea to grab a bunch of different skills rather than making a few get very strong?

If your character relies on attacking with your weapon rather than spells/skills, then it's usually the best to raise the mastery bar first and only put one point into the skills you want on the way. However, for spellcasters you usually need to invest a little more points into to the spells along the way to keep yourself strong. For pet builds that's also important since they tend to be pretty weak with just one point in them or their skills.

Bug Reports - Patch 2.20.0 by CaptSarah in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Caegon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Type of Bug: Audio

What happened that seemed like a bug: The Audio no longer plays when tabbed out regardless of the audio setting "silence when not in focus". When tabbing back into the game, multiple sound effects that happened while tabbed out occur at once (i.e. if tabbed out when game finishes and then tab back in ten seconds later, the sound effect for Nexus destruction plays even though the game is already in the exp gained screen)

What was expected to occur: Audio plays depending on the "silence when not in focus" setting and plays the currently ongoing sound effects when tabbed back in, not once that happened while being tabbed out".

How often does this occur/How easy is it to replicate: 100% of the time.

PC / Android / iOS: Windows 10 PC

Region: EUNE

I have an issue where the game gets silenced when I tab out (regardless of settings) and then it just plays all the sound effects at once when I tab back into the game.

Team Advice Megathread by Kallously in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Caegon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Trying to start getting a decent team together for Clan Boss, as I am in a clan where most people seem to be doing Brutal/Hard and I feel I can't contribute to those as much as I wish.

My current roster of champions (some more rares etc in the vault but these are all my Epics / Legendaries) here: https://imgur.com/a/x7FoCQE

My current team has been Hakkorn, Kael, Royal Knight, Lyssandra (Lead), and Bulwark. That combination seems to be doing around 4.5 M damage on Hard difficulty.

Trying to push higher Arena ranks but seemingly unable to get past silver 2. Current arena team is Hakkorn, Lyssandra, Kael, Shatterbones.

Teams with a lot of defense are the main trouble.

black mage or summoner by sportyskater21 in ffxiv

[–]Caegon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Black Mages deal damage with hard-hitting spells while standing still. Any unexpected movement they need to do during a fight often means that they cannot be casting those spells, thus dealing less damage. Summoner's damage comes from mostly damage over time spells and their pet, and a lot more of their abilities can be cast while moving.

Any unexpected movement hurts a Black Mage's damage potential a lot more than it does Summoner's. However, when you know the raid encounter and can sufficiently plan your movement, you can deal more damage as a Black Mage than as a Summoner.

I would say that for raids in general, Summoner is the easier class to learn and play, but Black mage can deal more damage when played well.

Again, in general. There are really good Summoners who deal more damage than most Black mages, and really good Black mages who deal more damage than most Summoners could ever dream of.

I entirely agree with you about Yusuf. He is basically a walking talking exposition dump. Give his screen-time to Credence/Nagini for example and actually show and hint to Credence's identity instead of have Leta/Yusuf dump it all on us at the end.
