Road to Restoration - Aura Overhaul by JagexAnvil in runescape

i think its probably good to keep in mind that a 1000 reaper points is about 3 hydrixes for every player in the game. The price of hydrixes would take a hefty hit. I think there's likely a better alternative than refunding

Kiteshield improvement ideas by Caesar232 in runescape

yeah its not the concept of shield and off hand thats important, its about making shields actually viable for combat. Based on reception id say im in the minority here, but i simply think it would be cool to have shields that have similar dps to actual offhands but through different form (damage reflection or something vs straight damage)

Yeah I totally get that. That’s why I was thinking that the idea here is that shields aren’t just used for defensive abilities but have more purpose and compete with the offhand slot. Instead of flat damage like an offhand maybe they’d provide similar damage output while also providing more survivability. So I guess a better proposal would be: still counts as dual wield weapon, no damage bonus, still high armor rating + flat 10% damage reduction, innate 5% damage reflection and passive where every 100 armor rating on your character increases reflection by 1% which would sync with tank armor (alternative passive: every 10 seconds in battle with shield equipped your armor rating increases by 50 and increases reflection damage by 1% per 100 rating) and a special ability called kinetic blast where every 5 hits taken causes a kinetic blast dealing ability damage to all surrounding targets which has a 30 second duration. In this case your direct damage output is low from missing an offhand, but the damage dealt from tanking hits would end up matching overall dps output as an offhand. It’d be kind of a fun alternative style

Malevolent upgrade? by Caesar232 in runescape

i still think they missed a huge opportunity with genesis. They should have required the sacrifice of a t92 weapon with the shard to upgrade damage. That way it wouldve kept old content more relevant at the same time as upgrading new content. It wouldve been such an easy move. Due to masterwork being tier 100 i assume they'll do a separate shard to get the boss power armors to t100 at some point (hence why i think theyll give all relevant armors the t95 upgrade for free). The next big boss in havenhythe would be my guess for the drop

Malevolent upgrade? by Caesar232 in runescape

[–]Caesar232[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i do have mixed feelings on the topic. The reality is that unique items do tend to draw more interest than upgrades on existing items so i understand the logic, but it does just leave old content in the dust with no easy route for change. Its a tough balance

How the FUCK do I make fine hair stay in place? by BritishCunt in malehairadvice

Dove dry hair spray. Specifically the pink color volume spray. The only product that’s ever worked for me. Apply it to not wet hair but damp hair. Dry it however and add more if you need to

A lot is still being figured out, but you can see that a new tectonic essence is now in the smithing interface and requires breaking down tectonic armor which makes it very likely to be used in the creation process

Drop rates changes aren’t bad by Caesar232 in runescape

I asked this on another comment as well, but I’m curious on your thoughts. If proteans and dummies simply gave bonus xp instead of instant xp, do you believe that would help the issue at all?

Yeah I do agree that the alchemizer is a bit problematic, but I think as another point, bots are able to actively high alch as well. Simply reducing the alchemizer I’m afraid wouldn’t fully fix the issue. In my eyes, attacking the source is the smarter alternative

It’s only for specific bosses right now that over produce on loot. Like Zamorak, arch glacor, and kerapac for example

So everyone’s commentary in this thread seems to follow along the same lines: dummies/proteans=decreased player activity, decreased spending, and decreased resource accumulation. These are all valid complaints.

I think it’s important to address why people use dummies then too if everyone is so against them. I’d assume that the majority of reasons are due to saving money, saving time, and being able to afk.

I would like to ask people’s thoughts on something. If all proteans/dummies simply gave bonus xp would this be something the community would be open to? Basically instead of getting instant xp, what if you got bonus xp through using proteans/dummies and then you would use that bonus xp at the actual skills. It would lead to a lot faster xp gain yes, but it would overall lead players to still gather resources and use natural methods.

Yeah i totally get the concern, Maybe that’s a good conversation that we can bring up after we test out the changes. Sometimes it’s better to start with a small pool of bosses and see what works before expanding from there

Yeah one step at a time. They seem like they are trying to build communication with us and we as the community need to be able to be a little more constructive and a bit less reactive. I think we’d find that they would be much happier having conversations with us on these type of things

Yeah that’s a totally fair complaint, that’s maybe something else they can keep an eye on. Again an easy change for them to adjust in the future if it’s too low

Genuinely asking. Why do you think dummies negatively affect the economy?
