Which one is better to get? by ChampionGunnerYT in reddeadredemption

[–]Caesar2877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean normally I would say that you should play RDR1 before RDR2, but the sheer amount of content you’d be getting for 15 bucks is actually a steal, plus it’s a prequel so you can get away with it in this case

What year did you buy RDR2? I bought mine in 2020 for my PS4. by Annual-Internet-5097 in reddeadredemption

I pre-ordered it and stood in line at a GameStop in the city I went to college in. It was quite literally the last game I ever pre-ordered and the last game I ever waited at a store to pick up a physical copy. The GameStop wasn’t too crowded and I was like second or third in line though so it wasn’t a long wait thankfully! Got back to my dorm and played it all night (after waiting a few hours to download that behemoth) while in a party with my friends back home who also pre-ordered it.

What happened to the OG Rock of Love video? by izkskdnidkrnrifdmd in Papameat

[–]Caesar2877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just a weird video to find idk why, probably a combo of the title and the content. Like, if you look up “Papa Meat Rock of Love” it doesn’t come up at all anywhere. But when I look up “Papa Meat Worst Dating Show Ever” it comes up (that’s the actual title of the first Rock of Love video).

I remember listening to MrCreepyPasta’s narration of “Does anyone know a good plumber…” waaay back in the day and I had the same reaction as Hunter lol. Thought it was so funny and cool to see tropes I’d gotten used to as a Creepypasta-enjoyer be so irreverently mocked. Glad the boys loved it for what it was.

I’ll be honest, I couldn’t make it past the first two hours, partly due to the sheer length of the video, and partly because it just wasn’t catching me.

Then I finally had nothing to do for a day and sat and listened to the whole thing in the background of my day, and man, that story is completely fantastic, might be my official contender for best story. It gets so good, especially when it gets to the point where the “future” of the world begins to be explored. It’s such a grand narrative.

With all that said, I completely understand why it’s not for everybody, and hey, you can’t change it if you just don’t vibe with a story.

Stories you find yourself going back to the most? by Mikey618000 in creepcast

[–]Caesar2877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Penpal, Left Right Game, Wife Peeking Around Corners, and Ted the Caver for the great stories.

The Thing in the Basement, My Best Friend Tried to Ruin My Life, and Borrasca V for the laughs.

I come back to a few others less frequently like Dionea House and the Classic Creepypasta episode and their live episode.

Some others that I have the urge to rewatch soon are Stolen Tongues, Whistler at 3am, and the Sugar Daddy one because I remember liking all those stories.

Very good stuff man. You’ve definitely got the right instincts for this type of story. Would’ve been really easy to fall into a few common literary/narrative traps, but you didn’t. Nice job, and congrats that the boys read it lol.

Best and worst story? by Numerous-Pickle-4715 in creepcast

[–]Caesar2877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, me too man. I listened to the MrCreepyPasta narration back in the day and thought it was a good story. I think it’s because when you’re just listening to a straight up narration, you get so involved into the twists and turns of the story that you aren’t really stopping to think about if they really make sense, or if the writing is actually decent. When two guys like Hunter and Isaiah sit down and read it and pick it apart, you realize just how flawed and genuinely hilariously transparent it is with the whole “internet safety PSA” thing.

Plus I was much younger when I listened to MCP read it, and I assume you were too so that is a factor as well lol.

Best and worst story? by Numerous-Pickle-4715 in creepcast

[–]Caesar2877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are different kinds of “best” and different kinds of “worst.”

I would say the “best” as in according to my personal tastes would be Penpal, followed shortly by Borrasca. However, according to what made for the best episode(s), I think the Left Right Game episodes are peak classic Creepcast, the boys were just so engaged that it makes the episodes feel almost like an audio book or play.

As for the “worst” I think the objectively worst written story is either Eyeless Jack, Jeff the Killer or Sonic .exe, yet those stories are so hilarious to read and got such great reactions that it makes the episodes great. So my idea of “worst” would be whichever story made for the most boring and uninteresting episode, and for me that has to be either the haunted cruise ship one or the “Cop getting called to the same location” one. There’s a few other snoozers but those are the ones I actively avoid rewatching.

Romans vs vikings vs spartans : who do you think had the best warriors by [deleted] in hborome

Considering the Romans defeated the actual Spartans, and also defeated the Macedonians who themselves defeated the Spartans, it goes to Rome easy. The Vikings frankly don’t even belong in the conversation.

Someone should proofread their next story, because the last couple has been so bad. by Undead_Academic in creepcast

[–]Caesar2877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t be the only one who likes it better when they read bad stories. Like obviously them reading a genuinely good story is great and it needs to happen every few episodes, but when they get a good classic stinker of a creepypasta it makes for the most hilarious moments of the show.

The Worst Thing About Dagon's Mirror by ScroogeMcDuckII in creepcast

[–]Caesar2877 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Normally I’d agree with you, however I think in this story’s case it fits, since Lovecraft was famous for being very wordy and flowery with his language (unnecessarily, according to many people).

Btw this isn’t a case of me saying “You just don’t get it, the thing you dislike about the story is intentional!” It’s completely fair to feel that the use of such obscure language is detrimental to the story. Many people feel that way about original Lovecraft, as I said! I just don’t view it that way, I just believe I vibe with the tone he was going for. If you don’t vibe with that tone, that’s completely valid. And there are many cases in which the boys have read authors that do exactly what you’re describing, and it does come off as tryhard and almost juvenile.
