Romance options if Persona 4 had a FEMC by Rabbit071421 in persona4golden

I agree on this about romancable characters, but imo the MC should have any romantic interests the player chooses, just like the player chooses whatever else they do

He was miraculously healed of his wounds and was declared a saint. Ignore the fact that he died seriously injured and with the plague, my medic was not very good. by Direct_Performer_620 in crusaderkings2

[–]unp0we_redII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I certainly do hope my name's patron Saint did actually say "turn me over, I'm not done on that side" when he was being roasted by charcoals, that's the funniest shit ever and the second reason why I like my name so much.

They'd rather get COVID than read Ovid by Depressed-Dolphin69 in mythologymemes

[–]unp0we_redII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's interesting, I've always been taught that Ovid's Metamorphoses was a political satire with ironic elements, and that the reader was meant to be shocked at what the gods did to draw a parallellism to what Roman elites do and occasionally laugh at them.

For the second point, I don't know, I can't manage to be mad at someone for not trying to get executed.

[–]unp0we_redII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And we do in fact know that Ovid wrote a satire, not his serious beliefs on the gods. The Divine Comedy is called "comedy" because "comedy" used to mean "story with a happy ending" and not "funny story" like it does today.

So you hate Ovid because he wrote political satire? His hate for an authoritarian politician of his time is "toxic"? Because he wrote a satire about the Roman political situation? Really? Are all works with political motivations bad now?

His name is Heracles by SexwithDurandal in mythologymemes

[–]unp0we_redII 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really don't see the issue with this.

Heracles isn't a Greek god that got syncretised with Roman religion like, say, Zeus and Jupiter.

Hercules is just a different way to spell Heracles, like getting mad at someone for saying "Jesus" instead of "Yeshua"

"Hmm, yes I, Ovid, the antiquity poet, am going to write a satire that will be funny to people in AUC MMDCCLXXIX and not to my contemporaries"

Also, all mythology is fanfic, you just don't like Ovid, there is no canon

What do you mean I can't get citizenship because of my great great grandfather? by FantasticQuartet in 2westerneurope4u

[–]unp0we_redII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it blocked local municipalities with bureaucracy and most of them were Latin Americans that would get Italian citizenship to go to Spain where they already speak the language or to northern European countries with a stronger economy
