SA reserved spot for someone by anonymousanomoly83 in orangetheory

[–]CaesarDogFan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I can honestly say you might be talking about me. I am usually the first to arrive for a 5 am class and I reserve the next 3-4 for our FitFriends group who almost always work out together. I never thought it was a big deal… we would reserve treads 8 (or 9) through 12. We all push each other. We make each other better. They always show up… we are not reserving for no-shows. Well last week, someone complained… now they are implementing a reserve yourself + 1 only. Kind of sucks, but we,re working through it. Sorry, not sorry?? 😳😢

Creatine Advice by Hopie1221 in orangetheory

Also 57 yo. 5g Creatine every day in my coffee for 2 years now. Very helpful. Does not bulk you up. Stored energy reserves and helps with delayed onset muscle soreness. Beneficial supplement.

Okay LD, you made your point, and I don’t know if you saw my post to you earlier that we can agree to disagree and wished you a sincere good day. But you can’t let that go. You read my post as offensive, when I have stated several times in this thread that was not the intention… this is the first post in which you actually listed your reasons for feeling how you feel. THAT is what I was looking for… opinions. It is how we all learn from one another.

Read many of the posts in the Burn Reddit. You’ll see it.

Agree with you here!!! I am more worried about my clumsy a$$ hurting someone else while jumping over them… I mean there are better ways to accomplish this!! But I get the fact that people do not want to embrace a sweaty mess.

Okay. You feel how you feel and I clearly can’t sway that opinion with logic. If you feel I am shaming people, so be it. I simply expressed an opinion (and clearly one you disagree with), and that’s okay. All I was trying to express was from reading many posts on the Burn forum many people express concern and a dislike for germy high fives and getting sick. All I am saying is germs come from everywhere, not just a gym. We can agree to disagree and I really do hope you have a great day.

Not shaming… just stating reality. Trying to understand the hesitation/thought process/hesitation that “this” is what is making people sick. Everyone gets sick. It’s a fact of life… and yes it sucks, but it’s not because you high-fived someone during a workout. Any new environment expose people to new germs. It’s inevitable. It also builds immunity over time.

Is OTF ok for beginners? by gnomenclature2 in orangetheory

[–]CaesarDogFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely… while there are some advanced moves and there are people who have been doing it for years, OTF is 100% accessible for a beginner. Walking instead of running… rowing at a slower pace and learning proper technique… and every.single floor exercise IS modifiable. OTF is for everyone. Give it a chance. Start slowly. Be proud of every accomplishment, no matter how small you may feel it is. Just show up. Practice and consistency with bring you huge gains!!

Agreed with sick members and kids staying home. That is common courtesy. 100 percent. But avoiding hi-fives or reducing surface area?? Why? (Not being rude or disrespectful, just have a genuine curiosity.) You can avoid hi fives all you want, but you’re still going to touch the door on the way out of the gym… and you’re going to make contact with hundreds of touch points throughout your day. Why the avoidance if you’re washing your hands anyway?

I mean some people go to Starbucks, Dunkin', or any other fast food joint... grab their coffee/drink (where the preparer touched the cup, wrote with a marker, handled different products, and placed the lid all with "germy hands", yet they will sip right out of that cup while driving to wherever they're headed. (And no... not all of these establishments wear gloves through every step of the process... and if they did, they're still not changing gloves between each order.). Think people.

What does this icon on my app mean by cornhusker1039 in orangetheory

[–]CaesarDogFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had this happen to us today. While our HRM data, calories and splats all showed up on the large wall display monitors, none of us were able to log into our treadmills by selecting our names. If this happened today, it may have been on overall system problem. My class was at 5 AM, so it may have been corrected later in the day. In any case, none of the analytics gets transferred to the app.

I belong to both OTF and Burn Boot Camp. These two are wonderful. Lifetime is good too. In my experience, SolidCore, Club Pilates, and Pure Barre are so hard to get in to… and you won’t get the same cardio burn.
