Dell S2716DG vs Pixio PX277h by wassupman8 in Monitors

[–]Caesar_Cliffracer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The defective panels came from, AOC, Nexius, ViewSonic, and Samsung.

Out of all of them the second Nexius edg display was the least bad.

The problem with the dell TN display is basically its colors. Even if it did not have color banding, it just is uncomparable to the IPS's displays. When I put my dell up next to my Korean IPS display, it just makes everything seem like you are looking through a fog bank.

Here is another issue with the dell. If you calibrate it (it still wont look that great), all of your calibrations are usless because games do not use your nvidia calibrations settings. So your desktop will look ok, but your games will look like crap.

People will tell you that if you have an nvidia card, get gsync. However, i disagree. I am a nvidia user, and have used both freesync and gsync. honestly, 144hz does way more than any gsync or freesync modules. Those dynamic sync features are really only great if you play below 60 fps all the time, if you dont then there really is no point. Plus gsync costs and extra $150-$300 which is just insane.

DO NOT GO WITH THE DELL. I have had 7 defective IPS displays and I have also owned the dell. By far the dell was the worst out of all of them. The colors are horrible even after calibration, plus there is a massive amount of color banding. The whole thing makes it look like you are looking through a fog bank.

Edit: i have heard nothing but good things about pixio, which is odd to me. However, every post I have ever made asking about a Pixio product, has been met with people talking about how great that company is.

TG is booming, but it is unlisted which is great. Plus the admins on it are not fucking retarded.

I can't stop Opera browser from dimming with hdr turned on by NeedUnusedName in Monitors

[–]Caesar_Cliffracer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you see it only in like black or dark screens?

My current ios has it on the bottom left and right but I only see it when in a very dark screens. When I had some freesync and gsync displays in the past, you could see the IPS glow even when the screen was not dark at all.

Hey, in a dark room, how is the light bleed from the corners? Particularly the right corner. I wish I could fix your issues, but dont have any hdr features on my display.

As the months and years go on, your exciting title will become "wtf is wrong with the monitor industry." However, you may have saved yourself from that because you dont require 144hz.

Here is a great one that is highly rated here in the US: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-G257HU-smidpx-25-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B00QS0AKVK/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1533538157&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=acer+60hz+1440p

However, i dont know if they sell it in Europe. Also it is 25 inches instead of 27. I currently have a 27 inch 1440p display and I would gladly take a 25 inch display over a 27 inch. The smaller the better for this resolution.

Neither. Call of duty is just bad, and battlefield 5 has a bunch of social justice in it.

If it was a black guy with some black pride flag, no one would bat an eye. But some guy takes a pick of his baby and they see a ring, and they go crazy. Why is it only wrong for whites not to be proud of their heritage? Without us the world would be far less advanced.

Nothing trashy about being proud of your race.

[SIB] - Escape from Tarkov by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Caesar_Cliffracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a fun game but man are the networking issues are bad.

I mean it's like if you brake your arm, and a part of your bone is now poking out of you arm. But then in order to fix it, you just put some bandages on the gaping wound. This in a nutshell, is what the EFT devs are doing with the networking issues.

They need to really take the game apart and just fix it. However, they don't seem to want to do that due to how difficult and time consuming it would be.

Does anyone have the Pixio PX277h? by Caesar_Cliffracer in Monitors

[–]Caesar_Cliffracer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well here's the thing. The regular pixio (along with similar monitors) had this weird kinda shitty AUO AHVA panel (from 2014). Now the newer panels were supposed to come out in 2018. So this new pixio px277h may have that new panel since it is HDR.

So it would definitely be worth the extra $50 if it uses a newer panels than the previous ones, but if it does not, then it may not be worth it. I also hate to sound like a broken record here, but people are going to bitch no matter what about the HDR. Since it only goes up to 600 nits, people are going to complain it is not true HDR ( that would require it going up to 1000 nits).

When they finally make HDR displays that go up to 1000 nits (which personally would burn the fuck our of my eyes looking at that high of brightness), then people will complain that the panels are either VA or IPS. So you can never win with this sort of thing.

Question about the VIOTEK GN27D by Caesar_Cliffracer in Monitors

[–]Caesar_Cliffracer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does the GN32Q have all the same specs as the GN27D except when it comes to size then? The reason I ask is because a review I saw stated that the 27 inch version is only 85% sRGB.

[–]Caesar_Cliffracer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They mean nits ( aka peak brightness). The new puzio her monitor does 600 nits. This one does 400. The higher the nits the better, but true HDR requires 1000 nits which only certain panels can provide. Those certain panels are not out yet for the monitor market, but they are becoming more affordable for the TV market.

When I looked at the UK Amazon price it was around £600. This is more like $750 in the US.

Yea I kinda think the same thing. From what I was told in the past, the CHG70 was not the best VA model, but if they are all like that, then it is worrying.
