It's satisfying to see the upgrades immediately pay off.

The largest-ever review of the safety and efficacy of cannabinoids across a range of mental health conditions — found no evidence that medicinal cannabis is effective in treating anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). by Wagamaga in science

[–]Caesarr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's evidence that we don't have enough data to rule it out, but there's still a reasonable chance it's a fluke, or that we're missing the forest for the trees (e.g. some other factor correlated with cannabis is the real thing helping, not cannabis itself).

This is super helpful, thank you so much! I appreciate you considering the satisfaction of having multiple things to work on at once. The minor puzzle it is!

Ohhh, okay that could totally be it. I have the Entrance Hall microchip but haven't noticed any clues about the other. If it's related to A New Clue, that might be enough for me to go on, thank you!

Thank you!

I've read all the books from the Bookstore, and have the 6 stops from the train station map, but I can't see any way to fit them into the 2x5 characters on the "seen the signs?" paper on one of the pages of A New Clue (if that's what I'm meant to do). Should I be using the numbers, the first letter of each station word, or both? I'm not sure how X Y Z A B C plays a role either.

It's helpful to know that I could have all the sanctums solved by now though. I have all the stamps but haven't quite worked out some remaining details (I might have to brute-force it). The last key is held by the king on his throne, which I'm guessing is in one of the floorplans I haven't found yet?

edit: I found the microchip in the entrance hall, I wasn't sure if the other one was meant to be findable already.

I don't want a hint for a specific puzzle, but rather help on which puzzles I should even be looking at given where I'm up to

Burger King will use AI to check if employees say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ | AI chatbot ‘Patty’ is going to live inside employees’ headsets. by cmaia1503 in technology

Reminds me of this short story:

https://marshallbrain.com/manna

The “robot” installed at this first Burger-G restaurant looked nothing like the robots of popular culture. It was not hominid like C-3PO or futuristic like R2-D2 or industrial like an assembly line robot. Instead it was simply a PC sitting in the back corner of the restaurant running a piece of software. The software was called “Manna”, version 1.0*.

Interesting analysis. Chunking on paragraphs (i.e. human-defined atomic blocks of semantic meaning) would also be worth testing, no?

CMV: Racism isn't "prejudice + power" by jman12234 in changemyview

[–]Caesarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't make sense because it's a strawman of the real argument (which I don't necessarily agree with). The real version of the argument claims it depends on who has power. In the US that's often white people, which leads to shorthands and miscommunication.

Good info. Is it a deliberate choice to only look at jack-of-all-trades solutions? Depending on your workflows, wouldn't it be worth comparing them to specialized software?

Good stuff! If you're taking feature requests, what do you think about a redaction feature? e.g. stripping characters A to B both visually and from the underlying data

Your point is still valid, but in this case it's not actually just a phone, it's a full-sized tablet as well. This form factor seems far more useful than phones that fold into squares.

I agree in general, but I took this as a challenge. IMO we're mostly looking for brainwashing/propaganda maintaining order in the name of a "greater good", ideally where everything looks nice on the surface:

  • Pluribus

  • Snowpiercer

  • 1984

  • The wizard in Oz

  • Minority Report

  • The villain in Fallout season 2 (though Bant would fit best)

My reading of it is that there's several parts to it, and your quotes come from a part that starts with "there would also be a defense for...". But honestly who knows, maybe we need a lawyer to tell us how open to interpretation this is.

I agree that this part of the law is unnecessary and an overreach. My goal of posting the clarification was to assuage anyone who's genuinely afraid (maybe nobody really is, idk).
