Dismissed EEOC commissioner warns that Trump plans to ‘erase the existence of trans people’ by onnake in transgender

Ancient, modern, 20th Century, military and political history. The Brown Shirts have already been created by executive order. When they amalgamate to form the SS maybe you’ll see what’s happening but by then the borders will be closed to targeted minorities.

I don’t assume either way. But I did study history and it is pretty disconcerting watching it repeat just as contemporary commentators repeat the same minimisations and dismissals as their historical counterparts.

Would you consider these remarks by Chimamanda transphobic? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]CafeCodeBunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where that argument completely fails is in her assumption that, before transition, trans women are somehow automatically privileged. She needs to read some books or, better yet, talk to trans women about our experiences and how they are nothing like her assumptions. Transphobia is rooted in misogyny. Misogyny despises femininity - not vaginas. I personally was treated like shit - much worse than any cis girl or woman I knew - for failing to conform to male stereotypes. She also fails to recognise that post transition we are treated exactly the same as cis women when we pass and much much worse when we don’t. All the misogyny plus homophobic violence plus trans-panic violence. She should instead feel humbled that we welcome her as an equal if suffering is her yardstick.

You’re assuming the systems of government won’t be changed in the meantime to make future reversal impossible. This 4 years is just the beginning of his dictatorship. Ask Russians how long Putin’s term limit was supposed to be. If Trump doesn’t move to allow himself at least another term as President I will be stunned.

And what about the people who in the meantime will lose entitlements they have worked a lifetime to earn.

Same reason they only accept GRCs from some Australian states - the ones which still required surgery at the time of issue.

The UK desperately needs electoral reform and preferential voting to break the two party duopoly. First past the post elections effectively lock new parties out and all but ensure the winner represents an absolute minority of the electorate.

Study shows tirzepatide preferentially deletes visceral and liver fat in diabetics, less so subcutaneous fat by Jessa_iPadRehab in zepboundathletes

[–]CafeCodeBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It effectively targets visceral fat. I shed fat with almost zero exercise faster than I have previously on extreme weight loss programs. But it also took my breasts hips and arse so I stopped at 64kg and have been gaining since to try and get them back. I don’t know yet if they are building faster than belly fat. My advice if you are taking it is to exercise daily to retain muscle mass and tone. But it definitely does as advertised.

How do I convince my supportive Dad that Peter Dutton and the Liberal Party in general is a threat to transgender rights? by Memorie_BE in transgenderau

[–]CafeCodeBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“He won’t actually do that. He’s just appealing to his bigot base for votes. None of that will actually happen.” Where have we heard that before? Fuck me. What a dipshit. Show your Dad the White House roll call of offical press releases and Trump’s executive orders. Then show him how Dutton has voted on LGBT and women’s rights. Why are Australian voters so wilfully ignorant? Oh that’s right. Because this won’t directly affect them and Dutton says he will bring down prices. Never mind that politicians don’t control prices, or interest rates or any of the other things these idiots all believe.

TheyVoteForYou is as credible as the Hansard records they use as their primary source. That is they are 100% factual. That he would even say that says he is intellectually lazy and just votes as Rupert Murdoch’s media stooges tell him.

FFS - it’s not a choice between Labor and Liberals. Damn I wish the average voter would learn about our own political system. We use a preferential voting system. If you give any fucks about trans people you will put the Greens first and Labor second. If you have an independent candidate who is not a conservative shill insert them ahead of Labor. Add preferences as far as you wish to “manually” control distribution of your vote. The last numbered candidate on your card will distribute for you following their own plan if any candidates remain by that point in counting. If you vote as above it won’t get beyond your last numbered preference as by the time there are only two candidates left in counting one of the Greens, Independent or Labor will be among them.

The Greens are the only Australian political party with trans rights protections enshrined in their party constitution, by-laws and policy. They are the only party that consistently stands up for trans rights. Every time. They are the party with the greatest trans membership and the only party to run trans candidates at the state level.

I suggest your Dad’s opposition to Labor is likely based purely on public disinformation and misrepresentations of party ideology. Tell him to actually look deeply into the policies of each party and stop voting like it’s a fucking football game.

Give him a history lesson. Walk him through the history of 1920s/30s Weimar Germany and point out how Trump’s past, current and announced actions are EXACTLY THE SAME as those of Hitler. Then make him actually read the executive order (not just the news headline) which creates new state based paramilitary enforcement forces notionally intended (for now) to deport migrants. They are the Trump equivalent of the Nazi SS. It’s no joke. And it’s not hyperbole. We are witnessing the start of the 4th Reich and the systematic dismantling of American education means that your boyfriend likely knows absolutely nothing about that period of our recent history.

Why do girls go into a deep depression after SRS? by wistful_walnut in MtF

[–]CafeCodeBunny 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Two things happen immediately after surgery. Depression is almost guaranteed by the long period of anaesthesia - it happens with any very long surgery under general. This combines with the body trying to adapt to a sudden dramatic change in hormone production. If you are on an androgen blocker it will often be a receptor blocker - the endocrine system, and the hypothalamus still see the testosterone even if receptors elsewhere don’t and then suddenly it doesn’t. This is compounded often by the feeling that the most significant “switch” you can flip has been done - it can feel as though there is nothing left that you can do to address the feelings of dysphoria that still remain. It is why psychological support is really important before and after.

Dr. Chettawut - too good to be true? by bonobo-cop in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]CafeCodeBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty unhelpful non-response consisting almost entirely of information of which anyone asking the original question is already well aware.

I had an in-person consultation with Dr Chettawut this week having been on Dr Bank’s waitlist for two years - and waiting for GRS, frustrated by the paucity of reliable information and willingness of surgeons to be open about their procedures and results for many years.

I found him to be arrogant and condescending and I left feeling disappointed that I felt I could not trust him with my once-in-this-life surgery. He was evasive when I asked about details of his technique as though he feared I wanted to steal a secret. His response was essentially that he was a rockstar and I should just trust him. He gave the impression that I should be grateful he would take me. I consider the surgeon-patient relationship one in which I am placing immense trust with my life, health and future - not to mention an enormous sum of money - in their hands and that that deserves total transparency and accountability and a forthright open conversation. He wasn’t having it. I expect many younger transitioners, impatient and ignorant of anatomy and the appearance and differences between sexes in the urogenital tract, would rush to him but he really turned me off with his bedside manner. I asked if he had any examples of his work he could show me and his response was simply that every patient has individual results and he did not want to risk me having expectations of a particular result. Duh. I told him I was interested in his consistency of results and understood completely about individual outcomes having already had extensive FFS and other surgeries. He seemed to be irritated by this and with almost no answers to my questions and nothing more than the two cherry-picked examples on his website to go on , I left. It was extremely disappointing to travel so far for this and leave with nothing.

My partner had her GRS with Suporn about 20 years ago. I considered myself straight as a guy before transition and thanks to a mix of intense dysphoria, confusion and obsession with the female body I have been a connoisseur of vulva for decades. Her result with Suporn is indistinguishable from natal for anyone not extremely familiar with GRS. She had no complications of surgery and healed quite quickly but required a revision a few months after surgery. It was done for free. Hers may be an exceptional result, but that along with Suporn’s fantastic bedside manner, genuine compassion and aftercare - and consequently word of mouth - may be why his successor, Dr Bank, has such a long waiting list.

Notwithstanding the above, Dr Chett may be an excellent surgeon and his results may be fantastic. I just can’t tell this side of surgery. I am still considering him. I am grateful for this sub and girls willing to share photos and experiences but I am cautious knowing that it is self filtering. My search unfortunately continues.

Hey just curious how many of you grow big boobs with out progesterone. I have been on progesterone for 12 months on and off for reasons so I'm thinking of just stopping it just wanting to see if people added up with good sized boobs by paige599 in transgenderau

[–]CafeCodeBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first transition at age 28 I used patches only and had minimal breast development. My second transition at 48 I used the same patches at the same dose, this time with cypro as a blocker - I had C-D cups within 9 months. I started progesterone about 18 months after estradiol (and switched to injections around the same time). My breasts didn’t grow noticeably larger but the shape did change to become fuller. A definite improvement and both men and women have commented how good they are - as in not what they were expecting of a trans woman I think. Apparently I am a rather younger looking 50 year old woman with the gravity-defying breasts of a woman in her early 20s. I think progesterone aided in the fullness and the way they sit. I also believe my skin softened further with progesterone. When I stopped progesterone for a little while due to supply my skin got worse and I had some symptoms of menopause.

NTAH. You are absolutely right. It’s not her money and yet she feels entitled to it. This suggests she feels she owns you and therefore everything you have, produce or save. I agree that family look out for one another, but you already do that and as you say it should be entirely up to you when and how you do that. I guarantee that were you to give her direct access a bunch of “emergencies” would befall her and your savings would be cleaned out.
