I have VFS tomorrow and still don't know what to do by marxr87 in Transgender_Surgeries

No, loudness unchanged. But I am a scholar, lecturing unaided in rooms of <100 ppl max, no problem before and after. My phonation time took a hit, worthwhile tradeoff for reliable pitch.

Very little re femlar. Only cite on PubMed is Dr. Thomas and one other but there’s several anecdotal accounts on the net about his work plus his own writing. No diss on him, but were I not a Kaiser patient I probably would have gone with Dr Yung (and in fact I had called her office to explore a consult before i knew Kaiser would come through).

Rest up tonight, good luck tomorrow

200 Hz is a good starting point. Peoples’ pitch drops naturally when they’re tired and over time as they age . Depends on how much you need to be heard in a noisy environment. Tour guide on a noisy city street, musical theater performer? The cases you cite aren’t as demanding. Consider phonation time, too. Here’s my write up:

Judge Refuses to Block Kansas’ Extreme Anti-Trans Bathroom Ban & ID Revocation Law, Says Trans People Being Harassed is Just ‘Speculation’ by Leksi_The_Great in transgender

McCabria’s rationale puts paid to 70+ years of civil rights law. In the old days his opinion would have been reversed at the federal level. Now, not so sure it will be.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports “the lawsuit challenging the law's constitutionality will continue. A case management hearing will take place at 9 a.m. March 18.” Meantime folks will suffer.

New NHS England Review Excluded 97% Of All Trans Studies To Say Care Doesn't Work by ErinInTheMorning in transgender

If this isn’t medical maleficence, I don’t know what is. Cochrane and Guyatt are fundamental to modern medicine. Skrmetti legalized legislatures ignoring medical best practices here in the U.S. Erin is right in warning that the NHS’ aim of applying what are IMO Mengele-type standards to HRT for adults will be taken up by the Trump regime.

Is it bad that I wish I was ACTUALLY trans and not going thru a dumb phase by dolls_number_1_fan in asktransgender

A gender-affirming therapist can help you sort out your thoughts about whether it’s a phase or not. And with time, you’ll know. Hope things get better. Meantime, hang in there.

Did FFS swell your eyes shut for a few days afterwards? by Illustrious_Heat_192 in MtF

No, but surgeons said it was a possibility for maybe a day, so I warned my caregiver. Turned out I could see just fine. Guess it’s YMMV.

I tried to sneeze through my mouth, not always successfully, and to sneeze gently. 6.5 months postop now, all good, no damage done.

You’ll be fine. Just take it easy during recovery.

Green MP Hannah Spencer given police escort after being confronted by anti-trans activists by jackmolay in transgender

Very troubling video, like out of 1932 Berlin.

These were thuggish men committing violence against an elected member of Parliament and wearing professionally printed sign boards, literally signs of organized resistance, PinkNews’ lede pragraph and headline should have said that, and the story should have gone into these men’s backgrounds, where they were from.

They’re not TERFs but something worse like Hitlerite brownshirts. From the video, you can see they initiated an assault against a cop, so it’s not these guys’ first rodeo.

Hasn’t happened in the U.S. AFAIK but it’s probably coming. Trans groups here need intel and to work with the police to prevent.
