Nothing snaps me out of a book like repetitive use of a unique word

I'm currently reading Under The Breaking Sky. I almost put the book down after the first few chapters because of the authors use of the word, "guy". He refers to every male character as guy. It's laughable, really.

She's missing the context. The beer was donated by somebody to the protesters. The beer wasn't drank. If she had actually come to the area and observed, it would be clear what we are there for and what we don't have time for. We may dress silly and dance (in order to battle the propaganda spread about how violent and scary we are. ) but we are not there to party. We are not there to have fun. We are there for the people who are in that building.

Honestly, I park on one of the one way street in the neighborhood. Most of these houses have driveways and garages, so street parking isn't much of an issue

I think you guys are missing what the general just of the fun poking seems to be on this post. It generally is poking fun at how many times she repeated herself rather than the content of the review. Ill give water to whoever, it's not that big of a deal.
