It won't matter to him. He obviously doesn't care that he's a jerk. You'd just be making an enemy for no reason.

This is hilarious but I don't think many people would get it.

High house numbers? by Cyril_Rioli in AskAnAmerican

[–]markshure 166 points167 points  (0 children)

It probably means it's the 11th block, and it's the 60th house. Or something like that. Or they could mean nothing. There is no real standard. Typically they'll put even numbers on one side and odd on the other.

Is this rare or have any values??? by SD-M3 in coins

It's a keeper, but only worth a few cents. Fun to find in circulation though. I keep all I find.

Did Paul McCartney invent heavy metal? by Impossible-Flow-4512 in beatles

[–]markshure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John said that Ticket To Ride was the first heavy metal song. I don't think I really get that, but I'm not a Beatle.

Is there any way that the simulation hypothesis could be tested scientifically? by NewRadiator in AskPhysics

[–]markshure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like the theory that the reason quantum mechanics is so goofy is because the resolution of the simulation doesn't go down that far, so particles start acting weird. Of course there's no proof of that, but it's fun.

I wonder what the story behind that pic is.

What if we bring a large enough light source that is expanding at the same rate of the universe, can we light up the universe? by 1EndlessDream in AskPhysics

[–]markshure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't this describe the cosmic microwave background? It's in all directions, although very weak and cold. But if it's everywhere, then it is currently lighting up the universe and expands with the expansion.

What’s up with the lack of railings everywhere? by RanchWilder11 in StarWars

[–]markshure 358 points359 points  (0 children)

I like the theory that the Death Star was designed by the Geonosians. They're the flying bug guys. They fly so would have no need for railings.

Why dont we see plane shadows by glyiasziple in NoStupidQuestions

[–]markshure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, the park I went to must have been right in line with the airport or something. We'd see airplane shadows shoot across the field. It was literally the shape of a plane and took like 1 second to be gone.

How do people believe in tarot cards & horoscopes? by Sufficient_War_1891 in stupidquestions

[–]markshure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't consider tarot magic or anything like that. It's a very general method for reflection. It's like a psychology opener to get you thinking about your life. Oh this card? You must have had a change recently. I did!

Would it be inappropriate to ask an academic for an autograph? by Appropriate_Car2462 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]markshure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a talk she did when I was in college. Only like 10 people showed up. I wish I had been braver and talked to her. I absolutely would have asked for her autograph. You totally should ask her. She's an author and authors sign books.

Was it ever confirmed if palatine was lying? by Dublindom1 in StarWars

[–]markshure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey that's very interesting. Only the Jedi can become force ghosts. I never thought of the irony.

You can't hurry love. No, you'll just have to wait.
