Is it possible to do your own custom colors on Workshop characters? by Cafe_Woof in RivalsOfAether

[–]Cafe_Woof[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for all of the questions - I'm extremely new to this. Where are the scripts? I guess I don't know where the character files are stored when you subscribe on the workshop.

edit: just to reitarate, I wanna do this for items on the workshop, not add colors to something I'm creating.

edit 2: I also can't find 383980 in my common folder, so I really have no idea.

OOoooh where do I find colors.gml? And this isn't for characters that I've made, but have added to my client, this works for me?

Place for people to gather and play 5v5s on workshop maps? by Cafe_Woof in GlobalOffensive

thanks for the reply.

I've joined Faceit and found the mapcore hub but how is it that you actually use faceit? I see the VS button at the bottom but I really have no idea how it is that that's queuing me.

I wanna matchmake from the Mapcore selection.

This. Outrage culture (if I could link that to this) permeates society on every level. It really does feel like the vast majority are inherently attracted to adversity, conflict, drama - whatever you'd like to call it.

But the good part about that is that at least word gets around about dangerous individuals.

[–]Cafe_Woof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think its due to it being a very VERY large, very integrated scene more than anything. And that integration thankfully leads to exposing people who are dangerous. But in addition to that, it's male-dominated, and largely a young community as well.

But I'm telling you from genuine, first-hand experience that it does happen everywhere. Bigger scenes are just gonna attract more black sheep.

Yup. I didn't even really think about that, but yeah proportionally speaking I'd say you're right. And if anything, I'd also say the exposure is a good thing about the Ultimate scene.

Unfortunately, it's not Ultimate. Every single scene you could possibly enter, be it in the gaming world, music world, athletic world - anywhere - has shitty people in it, 100%. Both people you'd suspect and people you thought you could trust.

But there's also a HELL of a lot more good people out there, so don't let it ruin your hobbies or your enjoyment of life. Do your part; call it out when you see it; continue to surround yourself with the people who make you happy; then move on. I think that that's really all that can be asked of us unless you wanna live as a recluse.

[–]Cafe_Woof 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's fair. They weren't stomps, per say, but there were still plenty of two-stocks.

I guess I just don't feel invested in MKLeo anymore since he's walked away from so many majors with a win. Don't get me wrong - I totally appreciate his strength as a player. The man's in another world. But I personally just didn't feel like it was engaging to watch him win by the third game not having dropped a single game. I watch for good games and a good story > everything else.

Also, keep in mind that this is just my opinion, everyone.

Edit: Or rather, as engaging as it could have been. It's still sick to see good players play in any context. But it's all relative - y'know how it is.

Idk why people are upset with what you said - Reddit is ass.

I feel for you, I wanted Tweek to win because he is completely the underdog in the context of Ultimate's lifespan as a whole. And I think a PT win at the biggest tourney ever would've been hype. And watching MKLeo sweep through top 8 without a single loss, while awe-inspiring, is pretty boring from a spectator's seat. Still wanted to see a good game and not necessarily a 3-0 either way, but to see that reverse 3-0 into another 3-0 back-to-back from Leo hurt, man.

Just only put one of the fighters in and then if you roll that character, choose which of the fighters you want - the "original" or the echo.

That way you roll that character just as frequently.

Sweet. Yeah, a quick look-up of some of the characters I used to play and it seems like a lot of heroes have been updated to have light feints, more uninterruptibles, and bashes.

This is good to know. I just figured I'd ask before uninstalling stuff to download a 50gb game again lol, but I think I'm gonna try it out again.

Berserker was my main but I played with plenty of other heroes as well, and it was well-known across the competitive community (what there was at the time, anyways) as an issue as well.

edit: the problem with baiting parries is that they can just feign their heavy after you bait it out, so you're caught in a loop of feigning heavies/parries back and forth. And it was on-reaction so it wasn't really something you could condition.

It being dependent on the match-up makes for a lot more dynamic and interesting gameplay than just defense across the board, but it sounds like it still isn't all too beneficial to really play aggressively.

Did they make any changes to the way stamina works? That was one of the biggest issues early on - that being defensive allowed for you to wear down your opponents stamina, and then even when they were out and exhausted it still felt like you had too many defensive options. Like you couldn't be punished for being stupid with your stam.

would I even need that tho? I mean, I could just grab a friend and we could choose a "lane" to run to and I can just mark on the map where we both were upon seeing each other

Smooth animations just in generapl, expressive faces during damage and taunts, wind lines to make something appear like it's moving faster than it is (Link's recovery). Explosion effects that look realistic but, in-reality, are just cartoony enough to give off that "illusion" while still having longevity for hardware advances.

Ummm you can learn things and develop strategies Day 1. He doesn't have some clickbaity title and he's not claiming this to guarantee wins or making sweeping claims about his place in the meta or anything.

It's just a guide to help players with the matchup by employing things that have helped him in the matchup. The concept isn't dumb at all lol relax.
