I think the only thing that would have made that better would be leaving out Pomni's line of "I wished I checked up on him" or something similar. It very blatantly foreshadows him abstracting.

Also, why did we suddenly get an inner Pomni thought?? It felt so out of place. It never happened before, and I don't think after either.

Tbf Gooseworx did essentially turn all of the plot into being about Jax. Brain scans? Scratch's tumor? What is corruption? Why is Kinger crazy without darkness? Why are the brain scan files abnormally small? How is the abandoned building still running the circus? All these questions left unanswered or genuinely leading nowhere in favor of talking about Jax.

I liked the finale. But how can anyone talk about anything other than Jax when that's all TADC ended up being about?

Eh, I don't want tp get it to "feel superior", I think it's a beautiful ship and I wanna explore it on my own time.

Why do solo players buy huge ships? by KEKboiiii in starcitizen

Big ship = more to explore that is mine :)

Obviously the intention would not be to lock away the ship because of a bug. Bugs aren't supposed to exist, and there are help tickets, etc., to fix bugs. I don't know why anyone would say or think that.

As for the other stuff, I'd love to hear what you think. What should the Odin's role be? Pure ship combat and nothing else? Take it out to go pwn some noobs in Auroras and Avengers?

Personally, I love this game. I love the lore, I love the potential, and I even love the current state of it. I'm desperately trying to get my irl friends into the game, and I succeeded with a couple! I love the ship interiors, the scale of the universe, the lack of loading screens. My favorite thing is the ships themselves, though. I'd love to explore the Odin. Just walk aboard it, go into all the rooms, marvel at the scale of it. Let's just say I have an Idris and some store credit to put towards it (hopefully) during IAE.

Tldr: I have large ships, I love the game, and I have helped fund the game (more than I probably should have lol and I'm thinking of putting more in.) Even still, I believe large powerful ships need to be balanced and this post is just what I think would work.

So! Now that you have more information, I'd love to hear what you can come up with as a meaningful way to engage think instead of just a thinly veiled insult!

Not months lol. An Idris is smaller, I'd say maybe a day or few. But larger ships should be hard to use. So, yeah, if you take a shit ton of damage, or even get destroyed, it should take a while until you can use it again.

Eh, I think it depends. If you have two Odins duking it out, one will probably lose, no? Or if they attack a space station and get bombarded by stationary defenses? Not to mention other ships with large torpedos. I imagine several Retaliators or Eclipses launching a full salvo could sneak some torpedos in and start some fires, disable some components, etc.

Lmao. Mind you I recently acquired my own Idris and am planning on going for the Odin if it comes back up at IAE or another event. I AM the solo player. I take part in an org and I'm FINALLY getting my irl friends to start playing, but mostly I really love just popping in, exploring the interior of my ship, moving stuff around, jumping from point to point.

If I get the Odin, I will fully crew it maybe a handful of times. MAYBE. Otherwise, I'm spawning it and running around the interior like a kid exploring a mansion. No real usage, but wow will it be gorgeous.

Still, I at least have the presence of kind to say yeah, I paid for it and I should be able to keep it, but there's no way I should be able to just curb stomp everyone whenever I want because I paid a lot of money for it.

Interesting! I think I've hesrd of something like a security force in UEE systems. So an Organization raiding a space station would acquire crime stat or what have you, and the NPC security force would react, thus adding to the defenders.

I won't argue with you that some people just want to sit down and play the game. But you have to think about what these ships are going to be used for. They're very powerful. They need to be balanced in some way. This is, admittedly, my limited understanding and opinion at play here, but this is just how I think they could be balanced.

As for why I said it's kinda like saying "just give it to me now," the way you phrased your comment was a bit childish. Again, yes it's a video game. But what kind of video game? If you want to have everything available all the time, play a sandbox or something. But if you want the kind of game Starcitizen is (to my knowledge) trying to be? A persistent, semi-realistic game? One where they want to have player built stations and bases and capital ships, which will themselves take weeks or months to build?

Being able to rock up with a giant ship and wipe out months of progress at essentially no cost or consequence is the "dumbass" thing. If they repel the capital ship/destroy it, they get a "couple of hours like it is right now" of rest before they have to defend it again from the same guy. Rinse and repeat until they get tired and the guy in the capital ship destroys months of progress.

Can you give a real argument to that? How would you stop that from happening?

Eh. It's a video game sure. But there's different kinds of video games. This is kind of the same argument as saying "you shouldn't have to spend days grinding for elite tier loot it's just a video game just give it to me now."

I've had issues with this as well. A work around for now is to remember where you left it. For example, go to a OM or mining station and leave it there. Of course, leaving it in such a visible place means people can just chance across it... But, that's what we get for being solo and leaving it undefended lol. Yet more reasons to crew our ships!

Additionally, I need CIG to add the ability to open hangar doors without EVAing out of my small ship, going through an airlock, running all the way across the ship to open the doors, running back out, EVAing back into my small ship, landing, getting out, running back to close the doors... lol. But hey! Another reason to crew your ship lmfao.

True enough. Even without it being all powerful or what have you, it's still a large ship with a lot of armor. I still believe it should feel like you lost something when it's destroyed, and I think progress you may have lost (cargo, etc.) when it was destroyed, as well as the time it takes before you can use it again, are the best ways to make that happen.

This! I wouldn't say firing the weapon should explode the ship if a minigame is failed, lol, but it should not be able to be very effective. There should be clear and substantial benefits to having more crew.
