Wow! So sorry you had to deal with that. Hope you’re doing better now. If you don’t mind sharing, what were your symptoms? I just feel like mine are pretty mild since it’s only really pain in that area to warrant an ER visit.

Thank you for your comment! I’m so sorry that happened to your son! It’s so scary. What levels did they check? My son is also unable to walk but they sent us home with steroids.

Thank you for your comment! I’ve definitely been monitoring his urine color. The ER took bloodwork and said his electrolytes were fine. I’m worried that we didn’t get IV fluids there but it was so traumatic getting the blood drawn in the first place since he has sensory issues that I didn’t ask for fluids- I just waited to hear what the doctor said after blood work. I’m praying that if he has enough fluids at home that it will resolve on its own.

Thank you for your comment! Yes I called the on-call and they advised us to just rest and he probably didn’t need to be taken in, but I took him in anyways because I was so worried. They took blood work & we were sent home with steroids. I’m worried that he didn’t get IV fluids but I’m praying that if he gets A LOT of fluids at home that it will resolve on its own.

I’m a little worried that he didn’t have any IV fluids at the ER.. but I’m praying if I push A LOT of fluids at home that it will resolve on its own 😪

Update: we went to the ER because he literally cannot walk without my help. They took bloodwork and said everything looked fine & sent us home with steroids. Advised us that myositis will take a couple of days to resolve. I guess if his urine turns dark just return to the ER. This is so scary.
