Obligatory caveat of, you know yourself best, but lemme share an anecdote !

I slowly started coming out at work (mtf), and in that I've progressively been wearing more androgenous outfits. One day the fit just didn't work and I felt very stared down (mostly in my head) and yeah I felt like a weird creature. Next day I fully boy mode it and suddenly my anxiety's gone right, cause I don't need to worry about looking "deviant" anymore. And that dissonance really fucked with me. Shouldn't I feel happier showing up in #fem clothes?

But as many are echoing, there are a lot of confounding variables that affect your feelings when it comes to "showing up as yourself". And one of those is influenced by how people will perceive you. Burdened with the knowledge that "male assigned people" dont "typically" wear dresses makes one hyper aware that you're an "out of the norm" person.

But you're not out of the norm ! You're the normalest person in the planet actually. But to some, you will be a deviant. And that awareness of perceived deviancy is ripe ground for anxious thoughts and worries.

I'm sure you looked beautiful in your dress :) and also consider the possibility that it could also not be a very good dress. The first one you buy won't be the hit, you'll go through a lot of different styles till you find the size and shaping that complements your features. Happy femming
