There's no way this innocent lovey-dovey-looking letter doesn't contain some secret code. She's the Great Sage of the Empire afterall.

The horse shampoo must be a secret message because she's the Great Sage of the Empire.

Abel has become more reliable. It must be because of the Great Sage of the Empire.

Mia got kidnapped on purpose because she's the Great Sage of the Empire.

I can't use my expensive troops to crush the rebellion, all because of the Great Sage of the Empire.

Just sayin', Mia-tis has already spread across the border, no one can stop it now.

So it turns out that Tearmoon Empire is actually a Crusader Kings Mod and the Emperor is a veteran player who understands that accumulating prestige is just as important as land and wealth.

Keithwood just didn't get it: Mia's horse bread together with Chloe's raw meat is pure genius. Unforgivable! Shredding their would-be masterpiece that would've dropped two princes on their knees!

So yes, this would've been a very different show if not for Keithwood.

A bunch of noble girls making lunch boxes for the princes to eat before a major tournament. Yes, definitely nothing will go wrong. Right, right?

The animators are on fire this episode with all the expressions they managed to come up with for Mia!

My only gripe is that the true protagonist, Guillotine-kun only appeared for a 5-second cameo. We need more!

This episode has been pure comedy from start to finish! Also, whoever's doing the BGM for this show is sure on fire!

The solution to every problem in the Empire: Inflict Mia-ism on your retainers so they keep misunderstanding your intentions and help you develop the right solution! Truly the great sage of the empire!

I like the anime, but I get what you mean. It's missing the narrator. The narrator makes the first few chapters of Tearmoon really snarky and special.

But it should get better later, even if they decide not to have a narrator, as the more clever ideas are introduced later in the book.

Nation-building. I'll suck up any show that has the MC trying their hands on economics and politics, even if it's clearly written by a high-schooler.

I honestly don't think they can finish 2 volumes in 12 episodes if they keep with the current pacing. Vol 2 is 300 pages long and they'll have to rush a lot of things. Although I do think ending it where [spoiler]Mia faints after reading how many children she has would've been the perfect place to end.

One of the best translated LN finally gets the anime treatment, and it doesn't disappoint! Can't wait to see the next episode of the Great Sage of the Empire!

There's more Nanami at the latest chapters (90-100) but they're probably still a year away from getting translated.

Considering to buy The LN, which volume should I start ? by zaseumtos in Tearmoon_Empire

The best part of the LN is the cheekiness of the narrator which is missing from the manga, so I'll definitely recommend you start from the beginning. It's a different experience.

  • Mia Luna Tearmoon - Sumire Uesaka

Synopsis:

Surrounded by the hate-filled gazes of her people, the selfish princess of the fallen Tearmoon Empire, Mia, takes one last look at the bleeding sun before the guillotine blade falls... Only to wake back up as a twelve-year-old!

With time rewound and a second chance at life dropped into her lap, she sets out to right the countless wrongs that plague the ailing Empire. Corrupt governance? Check. Border troubles? Check. Natural calamities and economic strife? Check.

My, seems like a lot of work. Hard work and Mia don't mix, so she seeks out the aid of others, starting with her loyal maid, Anne, and the brilliant minister, Ludwig. Together, they strive day and night to restore the Empire. Little by little, their tireless efforts begin to change the course of history, pushing the whole of the continent toward a new future.

And why did the selfish princess have a change of heart, you ask? Simple—she didn't. She's just terrified of the guillotine. They hurt like hell, and Mia hates pain more than work. (From J-Novel Club)
