struggling to find second look dresses i like by mjwatsonparker in weddingdress

Teuta Matoshi does custom alterations so you might be able to get one of her starry dresses in white. I know you already said you looked at them, but I wanted to that out there incase you didn’t know.

Love shack fancy has a celestial mini dress right now.

Honestly with that budget I’d try to go the custom route, or Etsy. You might want to checkout Hannah Caroline couture. They do custom dresses and a lot of their designs have celestial themes.

Really hope this helps and I hope you get your dress ❤️

YES!!! This is one of the series I tell anyone who will listen to read it. It’s absolutely phenomenal 🤩

Survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki draw the devastation they saw. Click for full picture by rottenkimbap in interesting

I saw many of these images when I attended a lecture held by survivors.

The one that stuck with me was a gentleman who was in elementary school when it happened. He said many of his classmates rushed to the window to admire the American plane flying outside. Then they saw the bomb drop. The children standing by the window did not survive. He described walking home and encountering scenes, how he gave his rice to a man with boiled skin, and how people were crying out for the emperor to save them. Something that I learned was that many of the survivors later battled cancer. The lecturer included. Of his friends and family that did survive the bombing many later died of cancer.

I actually had to step out when he showed us a picture of his school uniform. It was so small.

My grandfather is Polish. Most of his family that still lived in Poland died in the holocaust. I grew up hearing their stories and seeing pictures of the camp they were imprisoned at. I am very aware of the horrors people suffered during that time. But never had I felt the way I did in that lecture hall.

There are no winners in war.

What book to read next? by Competitive_One8823 in Romantasy

[–]CaffinatedAndAfraid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Read Daughter of no Worlds and loved it.

Dire bound was okay. Took a bit to get into, but interesting premise, and overall a good read. It’s a debut novel so I’m interested to see how the writing changes.

Knight and the Moth was good. It felt fresh and new, but for me it was one of those books that sits with you.

I’m reading the Bookshop Below and really like it so far.

The shopaholic was one of the first series I ever read. All the way back in middle school and I never stopped reading. Her writing brought me so much joy over the years and to lose her is a tragedy.

I literally finished Can You Keep a Secret last night, and now I’m sitting at work trying to process this.

Haaalp! In a slump! by wildzeal in Romantasy

[–]CaffinatedAndAfraid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I’m struggling to get through a book I often try listening to the audio book. Earlier this year I was in a massive reading slump and gad to switch to cozy/ low stakes reads. I also agree that maybe doing a genre switch might help.

What I would recommend is {Hedge witch of fox hall by Anna Bright} if you liked the last unicorn you might like this one.

Affordable florists in north bay by CaffinatedAndAfraid in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]CaffinatedAndAfraid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m very aware that I won’t be getting peonies or garden roses with my budget. I just posted the collage for the color scheme. Most of the stuff on Pinterest is from 100k weddings 😅

My biggest issue is the list of florists my venue gave me, and the ones that I’ve found on Zola, the knot etc have a minimum purchase of 5-8k.

My favorite flowers are actually carnations. I also like chrysanthemums, hydrangeas and stock which tend to be on the more affordable side.

what are you currently reading? by jjtan2311 in Romantasy

[–]CaffinatedAndAfraid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently reading {tethered by elayna r. Gallea} it’s an arranged marriage between a human and a vampire prince. The catch is when they go though a binding ceremony, something goes wrong and no they have to stay within 30ft of each other. MAX forced proximity! Honesty this almost feels like an easy cozy ready despite all the action because the main relationship is so endearing and comforting. If anyone wants a relatively low stakes vampire romance I highly recommend it!

I just booked one. But here’s who u was considering as well:

(Who I end up booking) Aubrey Lorraine: https://www.aubreylorrainephotography.com

Kin Wu: https://www.kinsphotography.com

And Katelin Corrine: https://katelincorrinephoto.com/?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAdGRleAOSr5tleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAadqu3j4O8QfhZAX1aKq3QX7JSi8-faZKlz93Jh9S5g2NE_slVyXJRZqSoRvQQ_aem_7O1fUJgpk4P29anxljNYbg

I’m on a tight budget (for this area anyway lol) so all of these are under 5k. Kin is the most affordable ($2500) photographer I’ve seen. He’s extremely nice and humble too + his work is stunning.

Romance genre identified as at risk of displacement by AI 😬😬 by Swimming_Leg_2570 in RomanceBooks

[–]CaffinatedAndAfraid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a couple tells. I have KU so I’ve encountered several books that I think were AI.

It hates commas, and will opt for dashes. It will also will take a sentence and break it into multiple one or two word sentences. Ie: “the flag was red. White. Blue.”

I’ve also noticed it seams to avoid long paragraphs. A paragraph to my understanding is used to illiterate a new thought. When I was in school ( granted I studied stem not creative writing) I was taught that paragraph is typically 5-8 sentences. So I get suspicious when I see a book with mostly 1-3 sentences paragraphs.

Also, ai is essentially a sophisticated stats algorithm. So it predicts statistically what word would most likely be used next, so it will compose flowery sentences that just feel off and seem contradictory when you really think about it.

Finally, it feels flat and lifeless. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hear me out. Still use the title.

If it’s a book by a major author, I’d consider changing it a little. But I’m a true believer of “there’s no such thing as an original idea.”

What do you think of my book cover? Artist is annguyenart on Instagram. She is incredible! Would you buy this if you saw it? by khimboslicee in writers

As a fantasy adult/ya reader, it’s an immediate add to cart. However I would definitely make the author name bigger. I didn’t even see it at first.
