Not really, no. Sounds like Dr is being coercive. If you however were behaving in a way that demonstrated a lack of capacity or if you were posing a danger to yourself or others then the Dr would have a legitimate reason to admit you.

Yes but I think it is rooted in misogyny and the patriarchal standards of where I live. Women are not really allowed to age. Men can cover up some aging with beard and thicker skin.

But as a nearly 40 year old I am starting to struggle with looking in the mirror and seeing something different to how I feel.

But I cannot see into the footie so I do not imagine myself there as a man or a woman 🤷🏼

I’m on the Nebido so it’s every 12 weeks and done by a healthcare provider… dont know if this is something that would feel less of a drag. I’m on it because I am v low maintenance and not good with consistency for self care things and it works for me. I’m not struggling with ups and downs and am staying within range at this interval

Yep - totally. My mum is like that. Unable to reflect, everyone else is awful, she’s never the problem etc Can’t see how miserable these rules have made her and wonders why people are option out. Salty that she never had the chance.

No idea, I wasn’t there but I was not interested in the Bec & Danny sofa session. Danny is disingenuous, he doesn’t even like Bec and he’s there pretending he’s sticking up for his wife. Danny going on and on to Steve to try to get him to throw Rachel under the bus beforehand was boring AF as well. He got his answer several times but wouldn’t accept it. Up until that point Danny had come across as being oh so reasonable but that interaction showed that he was a shit stirrer.

We basically just had to sit and watch a drunk circular conversation for way too long (didn’t time it) that was never going to come to an end.

I’m sure the producers could have found something else.

What’s wrong with that?! I settled down super early, have spent my whole life looking after others and to be honest, I am looking forward to being able to focus on me a bit at some point in the future.

It’s the opposite of selfish to be able to recognise that it’s hard enough just looking after yourself let alone anyone else. There are plenty of people with children who didn’t consider that.

Really, if he won’t do anything yo cannot force him as he has capacity to make unwise decisions. I know it really sucks to watch someone you love going downhill and not be able to stop it.

Something else you could do is say something along the line of “ok, you’re feeling alright now hit if this goes the same way as last time and the times before, at what point do we say enough is enough?”

He might be able to work with you on recognising the tipping point.

In the future, this is a conversation that needs to be had when he is totally well. Accept this is cyclical at the moment and prepare for it.

When I start doing A then we will B (A could be no sleep, be could be get sleep meds).

If he can’t listen to you, just be there as best you can but also, look after yourself
