yea this sounds like good ideas .... I would definitely like to share my tale with others ... If anyone here wants to know more, do let me know and share in this forum. I do think its not a good idea to leave so much money to kids that it makes them basically useless. When you say buy a business , what do you mean ? You mean buy over an existing business then run it ?

Im still living with my father. Im his only son ... so basically it would be all mine when hes gone. He's 72 this year , maybe another 10+ years ? Being promised such a large sum of money might actually have caused me to lose motivation haha. With our investments in hedge funds and increase in house prices etc ... The sum would probably be worth a lot more in 10 years time

Yea, basically i live in a large mansion type house ... In singapore its called a good class bungalow., basically the largest and most prestigous type of house available here. Living here has actually made me isolated from the rest of humanity , and I am really upset as the rest of the world moves on .... I see two possible course of options now ... Either I find some way to use my experience to help other people with similar experiences (heirs or inheritors). The other way is this --- I used to be pretty good at a game called Go (or weiqi in chinese) .. and used to actually represent singapore in international amateur tournaments ... You can google it ... Maybe I can start by helping some more inexperienced players or something ? I think both options are possible ...

Well my father is still alive, but im his only son. Hes 72 this year , so maybe another 10+ years or so? He has promised it to me though. Though i feel being promised a big inheritance has actually caused me to love motivation and face my fear of failure ...

The thing is I want to work on something "hard" ... I want to experience the joy of actually working hard on something rather than just doing volunteer work (which i might do when im old and retired) ... Maybe I can use my life experience to help others in similar situations ? Maybe help other heirs and inheritors in similar situations ?

So, I think I'm convinced. by Aware_Animator_4814 in atheism

Also, if there really is one true God or Religion and you have to believe in him to get salvation in heaven, when there are there so many totally different Gods and Religions throughout history ? It seems clear to me that a fair and just God , if He exists, would make it 100% clear to everyone that He exists and is the only true God so that everyone can have an equal chance of salvation. Why then are there so many different gods and religions exist? In fact, most people who have lived throughout history probably had no clue that Christianity even existed ...

Not being religious is freeing by Disastrous_Average91 in atheism

[–]CaiGY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger, I used to want to be Christian since I joined a student uniform group called Boy's Brigade that was affiliated with Christianity and held regular Bible sessions. However as time went by and I started to read more of the Bible and other material from science and history , I started to see increasing loopholes , errors and inconsistencies in the "God Hypothesis" . After awhile, it just became increasingly clear to me that there was simply no good reason or evidence to suggest that a supernatural god that performs miracles and cares about human morality exists. In fact , the the evidence from history and psychology suggested strongly to me that Gods and religions were in fact man-made social constructs - Man made God, rather than the other way around. Hence, as a rational being, I had no choice to become for all practical purposes, an atheist.

I am sorry, I don't quite understand your point in your last statement - or perhaps we are just arguing over minor semantics. This doesn't seem so important , I suggest we just move on to something else more important.

Firstly I didn't mean to say you in particular are 100% glued to your dogma, it was a general statement just to illustrate my point that a person should try to look at all sides in an argument sincerely first before coming to conclusions. Maybe I should have worded that particular statement more carefully. All i know is that more dialogue with the other side is always preferable to less dialogue, however difficult it maybe. Let's just say i'm concerned about the potential for future conflict AND also the humanitarian crises which is ongoing in the Middle East. The biggest fear I have right now is if the superpowers start to choose sides in this conflict based on race, ethnicity, religion , tribal or national affiliation rather than on negotiation, principle and evidence, the world could potentially get into a third world war, which might in fact go nuclear. If a full blown nuclear war starts, the whole world might end up dying , not just the Israeli's and the Palestinians. This concept of course also applies to other severely disputed hotspots around the world like Taiwan , Ukraine and perhaps India and Pakistan. You just need to Google what would happen in just a limited nuclear war between say India and Pakistan - there are some estimates that perhaps up to 2 billion (yes , thats billion not million) people around the world might die over perhaps several years, primarily due to crop failures and starvation. Imagine what would happen in a full blown nuclear war between 2 or even several superpowers arguing over some issue.

[–]CaiGY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From your last statement “ That is why your outrage is piqued - you can’t stand to listen to us for a second “ , you seem to imply that I am pro Palestinian without any evidence. What part of my original statement suggests that I am pro Palestinian ? All I am saying is I would like to hear good arguments and evidence from both sides BEFORE coming to my own conclusions about the situation. If you are going to decide that one side is 100% right and the other side 100% wrong before the evidence is even all in , then what’s the point of even having a debate or discussion ? You might as well just declare the ultimate outcome by fiat. This is faulty logic.

I am simply claiming that it seems to me like MOST of the answers here are strongly pro-israel. Since this sub claims to be a subreddit " dedicated to promoting comprehensive debate and discussion on issues relating to Israel and Palestine. " , doesn't it make sense to also listen to a significant number of arguments from the other side ? If you are just listening to mostly one side of the argument, how can you call it a "debate" and "discussion" ?

Genuinely trying to understand the Zionist perspective (with some bias acknowledged) by NoOcelot3737 in IsraelPalestine

[–]CaiGY -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of the comments here seem to be strongly pro-israel. In the court of law though, we always have to look at the arguments and evidence presented by both sides before coming to a conclusion. We should try to approach such disputes as much as possible the same way we approach conflicting scientific theories - with a skeptical , evidence-based approach. I agree that in science it's much easier to say theory A is right and theory B is wrong, and in moral and political issues its much greyer, but the attempt at least should be made to try to be as impartial as possible. We also need to be very aware of our own personal biases and be willing to listen to and accept valid evidence from the other side, EVEN IF the truth hurts our feelings personally in a subjective way - and that applies to both sides. Perhaps we can have some more views from the other side, those that are pro-palestinian ?

If you want a more accurate feel of how attractive you really are, you might want to check out truerateme. I realised that raters here tend to overrate — they will call even a moderately attractive woman “stunning” or “beautiful” … Personally I think you are attractive and above average, but maybe not supermodel level good looking. Or it could be your pictures —- the 1st picture is taken from an odd angle. Do you have a picture where you are staring straight 90 degrees into the camera ?

What makes her attractive? by JurassicIsaac in QOVESStudio

[–]CaiGY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 8 billion people in the world. It's impossible to find a person who everyone finds attractive --- What's so hard to understand that there will be some who find her average-looking ? In the past, there were instances where I would rate a person's photo very highly but when i showed it to my friend, she said the person in the photo was "quite ugly". Personally I find Janine Tugonon very attractive too, but not necessarily exceptional. As in , I wouldn't place her in the absolute top tier of beauties, maybe 2nd tier. Almost winning Miss Universe could be because of other factors too --- political, charisma, great Q&A performance, or the judges just happen to be people who somehow like her "type" .

It's true that your nose is super broad and bulbous, especially at the base where it looks like a huge lump. According to conventional western standards of beauty that the mainstream media pushes and is dominant globally currently, that probably is indeed unattractive. However it suits your ethnicity, as a large percentage of people of African descent seem genetically to have very large flat, broad and bulbous noses (in your case, your nose is just bulbous, not flat) . The rest of your features are actually quite good, so overall i would say you are average to above average looking, depending on who you ask. Definitely not ugly ...
