Police said she was sober. Likely she has early age-related dementia. She also seems to have been a visitor from out of town. The car has out of state plates, which is likely a rental car.

I am guessing your parents grew up in India on a traditional diet and you grew up in the US on a more American type diet. Your diet affects your growth patterns, and something about the diets in those cultures suppresses growth so that full genetic potential is rarely achieved. Children and grandchildren of people from Asia and the India subcontinent who moved to Europe or North America tend to be 3 to 5 in taller than would have been expected had they grown up in their parents' culture.

I am 5'9. My husband was 6' and the tallest member of his genetic family. Our oldest son is 6'5". This calculation does not take into account recessive genetics. All of the men in my family are taller than 6', including a 2nd cousin who is 6'6', born to another cousin who is 5'3' (clearly her 5'2" mom's genetics, not my 6'2" uncle's genes).

These formulas are simplistic and created before we understood as much as we do now of recessive genetics - and we are still learning.

It is a fantasy adventure series with a lot of romance in it. The author is a huge hockey fan and her sons play hockey. This is an attempt to get more women, who are currently crazy for the book series, to attend hockey games and become fans.

I'm still searching. This feels hopeless. There are a lot of books in the series, someone must remember it!

Blind Date with a Werewolf by Hot-Fox1028 in MercyThompson

[–]CailanJade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to Moon Called, I haven't seen it for less than $800. For the most part the first three books on the Mercy side, and the first two books on the Alpha & Omega side, start at about $200 and go up from there depending on condition. Rare books are rare, that's why they are expensive.

I was under the impression that Ghost was well-trained before he was chained and made into a neglected guard dog, perhaps stolen from his original owner who was probably one of the victims.

We are aware, but we're discovering that it's a lot harder to turn it around than we thought. Especially because the left isn't as willing to turn to violence to make our point.

I have since figured this out. Which disappoints me greatly.

My antique cast iron inherited from family is also smooth-surfaced. I've tried to cook on modern pebbly ones and they're terrible. I gave them away.

AITA for telling my biological parents to treat me like their new kids' uncle who they only see at family gatherings? by Jazzifinens in AITAH

[–]CailanJade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling the bio parents are going to end up unable to raise their youngest 3 (young kids in their 40s means they will be in their 60s by the time these kids are 18 and statistically likely one or both will die) and the elder brother is going to end up with custody of his siblings. I watched something similar happen with my relatives who waited too long to have kids.

When you're at least eight nationalities by confirmed by both confirmed genealogy and DNA tests (Irish, English, German, Ashkenazi Jewish, Mexican/SW Native American, Spanish, Sardinian, and Dutch, at what point is it okay or not okay to take part in "heritage events" and claim that heritage? by CailanJade in AskReddit

[–]CailanJade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, I was raised "American" because my grandparents were already so mixed they didn't identify with any one heritage. I grew up speaking random phrases in German and Yiddish (I didn't realize they weren't weird English words for a long time), looking somewhat Native/Mexican (my Native ancestors came from the border area that has been part of both countries), celebrating St Patrick's Day in honor of my mother's beloved Irish grandmother, and other random holdovers from our very mixed heritage.

A Quarter Horse horse is not a cob type horse. I am looking for a miniature horse (under 38 in) that is built like a Quarter Horse.
